Private Jet Charter to Geneva from the UK
Getting to Geneva is the easy half; getting a slot into it in February is the half that decides the trip, and Private Jets UK works the booking from that end first. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. A large part of the European light and midsize fleet spends the winter working the Alpine corridor, so on a Geneva booking the aircraft is often already in the region rather than waiting in Britain. That shortens the positioning leg and matters more here than the hourly rate does.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Geneva depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Geneva?
An hour and a half from the London fields, closer to two from Scotland. Geneva is among the shortest international sectors we fly and the block times below include taxi and approach rather than airborne time alone, which is why they read longer than the raw distance suggests. Nothing in the table strains for range; the aircraft choice here is about cabin, luggage and hourly rate.

The flight is not the constraint here. The slot is
Geneva is a fully coordinated airport, which in plain terms means every arrival and departure needs an allocated slot and those slots are managed centrally rather than by the airport itself. Through the ski season from December to March the airport is among the hardest in Europe to get into, and the growth of scheduled low-cost traffic has squeezed what is left for private aircraft. None of that stops you flying. It does mean that on this route the date is worth more than the aeroplane, and that a booking made six weeks out and a booking made six days out are two different products at two different prices.
Two things this short sector gives you
– A same-day return that genuinely works. Out of Farnborough after breakfast, a full working day in the city, home in the evening, and no night spent away. On the Geneva corridor this is one of the most common bookings we take;
– An airport four kilometres from the centre. The drive into town is fifteen minutes and the private terminal sits apart from the commercial one, so the ground time at the Geneva end is measured in minutes rather than in queues.

Recent trips from Britain, cheapest first. Christmas, New Year, February half term and Easter sit well above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains why.

Why the first three are usually flown from Britain, not from Geneva
Annecy is nineteen nautical miles from Geneva and Chambery thirty-seven. Nobody charters an aircraft for that. Those fields appear here because they are where we send you instead of Geneva when the slot situation says so, and the flight is then London to Annecy or London to Chambery direct rather than a two-leg journey. Annecy sits about forty kilometres from Geneva by road and Chambery is closer to most of the French resorts than Geneva is. Both carry their own restrictions, shorter operating hours and their own slot limits among them, so the swap is a judgement rather than an automatic fix. The block further down on airports sets out when each one earns its place.
Two points on the European legs
– Geneva sits inside an hour of Zurich, Milan, Nice and Lyon, which makes it a natural pivot on a multi-city week. Quoted as one itinerary those legs cost materially less than as separate charters, because the aircraft never goes home in between;
– Departures out of Geneva are subject to the same slot regime as arrivals. On a Sunday evening in February that is worth knowing before you fix a dinner reservation in London for the same night.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The hourly figures above are preliminary and do not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Geneva:
Light jets, the default here
Ninety minutes does not need a bigger cabin, and on a route where the slot is the scarce thing rather than the aircraft, the money is better spent on booking early than on cabin width.
Midsize, and the ski luggage argument
Six people with skis, boots and a week of bags fill a light jet hold long before they fill its seats. On this route more than any other, the hold decides the aircraft.
Super-midsize and large
For a chalet party moving as one group, and for the Scottish departures where the sector is longer and the cabin has more time to justify itself.
Turboprops
The value option, and the class that gets into the Alpine airfields where runway length and mountain approaches rule most jets out. Also the aircraft that will still fly when Geneva has nothing free.
Helicopters
Not an extravagance on this route but the standard final leg. A Saturday drive to Courchevel or Verbier can run past three hours; the same journey in the air is under forty minutes.

This is a small part of what is available. Through the winter much of this fleet already works the Alpine corridor out of Geneva, Sion, Chambery and Nice, which is why a short-notice booking here often finds an aircraft even when it cannot find a slot.

Business aviation airports in Geneva
One airport serves the city, and four more exist as answers to the question of what happens when it is full. That question comes up often enough at Geneva that the alternates deserve naming rather than a footnote.
What full coordination means in practice
Every movement needs an allocated slot, and the allocation is centrally managed rather than settled with the airport on the day. Prior permission is separately required for non-scheduled flights, and a stand for a large cabin has to be requested rather than assumed. Through the ski season, and around the January economic forum and the spring watch fairs, all three of those become genuinely competitive. Operators can request a flexible slot with a wider window where an exact time is not essential, which is often the difference between flying on the day you wanted and not flying at all. Missing an allocated slot has consequences beyond the inconvenience, so we build realistic ground times into the plan rather than optimistic ones.

When Geneva itself has nothing left, the answer is a different field rather than a different date. Which one depends entirely on where you are going afterwards:
| Alternate | When it earns its place |
|---|---|
| Annecy NCY / LFLP |
About 40 km from Geneva and half an hour by road, which makes it the closest substitute. It has its own slot and operating-hour limits, so it solves the problem rather than removing it, and it is genuinely closer to the French resorts than Geneva is |
| Chambery CMF / LFLB |
The field for the Tarentaise, and closer to Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens than Geneva. Crews need specific approval for it, so the operator matters as much as the aircraft |
| Sion SIR / LSGS |
The Valais side, and the better answer for Verbier, Crans-Montana and Zermatt. A mountain field with its own procedures |
| Lausanne LSGL |
Light aircraft only, but well placed for the lake shore and the Vaud side. Not an option for a midsize cabin |
| Lyon LYS / LFLL |
The fallback for large aircraft when Geneva is slot-bound. It adds real driving time to Geneva itself but works well for the western resorts |
Switzerland is in Schengen but not in the EU, and Geneva has a French sector
Those two facts do more work on a Geneva booking than they look. Schengen membership means passports are handled as they would be anywhere on the continent, and on a private arrival that happens inside the business aviation terminal. Being outside the EU customs union means customs is a real formality rather than an absent one, with its own allowances on what may be brought in and taken out. The French sector is the part nobody expects: Geneva airport straddles the border and has a French side, which for passengers heading straight to the French Alps can mean bypassing Swiss customs altogether. Whether it applies to your trip depends on the aircraft, the handler and the destination, and it is one of the things our managers settle at the quote stage rather than at the aircraft steps.
Two more practical points
– Published sources differ on Geneva’s night operating limits, some describing a curfew in the late evening and others round-the-clock availability. Since an evening departure is exactly when the answer matters, our managers confirm the position for your date in writing rather than working from a general figure;
– Taxi times at the peak run to ten or fifteen minutes because of apron congestion. On a ninety-minute flight that is a real proportion of the journey, and it is built into the schedule rather than discovered on the day.
From the apron to the piste
Almost nobody flying privately into Geneva is staying in Geneva. The airport works as the gateway to the western Alps, and the last stretch of the journey is the part that decides whether you ski on the day you arrive.

plus a car change at Tasch, since the resort itself admits no vehiclesover 3 hours
Saturday is the problem, and it is worth planning around
Alpine chalets change over on a Saturday, which means the entire week’s traffic tries to use the same mountain roads on the same day. Figures that hold on a Tuesday stretch badly: the run to Courchevel can gain three quarters of an hour or more on the A43 and the climb from Moutiers, and the resorts further up the Tarentaise gain more still. Two things follow. The first is that a Friday or Sunday arrival costs the same in the air and saves an hour on the ground. The second is that on a Saturday the helicopter stops being a luxury and becomes the sensible answer, which is why we quote the two together on this route rather than treating the transfer as an afterthought.
Three things to settle with the transfer
– The vehicle before the headcount. Six passengers with skis need a van rather than two saloons, and in the peak weeks the larger vehicles are spoken for first;
– The border, if the resort is French. Switzerland is in Schengen so the crossing is normally open, but spot checks happen on the road corridors and everyone in the car needs whatever documents France requires of them;
– The return leg, which is slower than the outbound. Mountain roads in the morning move worse than in the evening, so the drive back to a fixed slot time needs more margin than the drive out did.
Flying to Geneva with a dog or a cat
Switzerland is straightforward on animals and the flight is ninety minutes, so this is one of the easier routes to travel with a dog. The wrinkle is not Swiss at all: it is that most people flying into Geneva are heading for France, and the animal crosses a border on the road that it did not cross in the air.
What is needed:
- An ISO 11784/11785 microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination rather than after it;
- A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before entry, given when the animal was 12 weeks old or older;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued within 10 days of arrival and valid for the return home for up to six months;
- Up to five animals per owner, travelling with the owner rather than commercially;
- Praziquantel from a vet 24 to 120 hours before landing back in Britain, entered with the date and the product. Dogs only; cats are exempt.
Three points specific to the Alpine trip
– The road border into France. It is normally open and normally uneventful, but the same certificate that got the animal into Switzerland has to satisfy France as well, and spot checks on the cross-border corridors do happen. We keep the paperwork in the car rather than in the hold;
– The helicopter leg is a separate agreement. Rotary operators decide individually about animals, and on a Saturday transfer to a resort that is not a conversation to start on the apron;
– The chalet. Alpine properties vary more than hotels do, and a dog-friendly chalet needs confirming before the flights are booked rather than after.
Nothing travels in a hold and no weight limit applies, so a large dog flies the same way a small one does. The worming appointment for the journey home can be done in Switzerland or in France depending on where you are staying, and we book it alongside the flight. Rules for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are on our flying with pets guide.
The Geneva calendar: one season that decides everything
Most destinations have a peak. Geneva has a season that runs four months and a handful of weeks inside it when the airport is among the hardest in Europe to enter. Everything else about booking this route follows from that.

Why booking early matters more here than the aircraft does
On most routes a late booking costs money. On this one, in the peak weeks, it can cost the airport. When the slots are gone the choice is a different field, a different hour or a different day, and none of those is what the client asked for. The aircraft, by contrast, is rarely the difficulty: the European light and midsize fleet is large and much of it winters in the Alpine corridor. So the advice we give on Geneva is unusual for us. Fix the date first, take the slot when it is offered, and settle the cabin afterwards, because the cabin can be changed and the slot cannot.
Three levers that actually work
– Fly on a Friday or a Sunday rather than a Saturday. The air fare is the same and the road at the far end is an hour quicker, which on a week’s skiing is most of a day recovered;
– Accept a flexible slot where the exact hour does not matter. A wider window is often the difference between flying on your date and moving it;
– Consider the alternate before you are forced to. Chambery for the Tarentaise and Sion for the Valais are closer to those resorts than Geneva is, and choosing one deliberately reads very differently from being sent there in the last week.
Types of flights
Geneva serves two clienteles that barely overlap, and the booking looks different for each:
- Ski trips from December to April, which are most of the volume and all of the difficulty. Fixed chalet dates, heavy luggage, and a road transfer that matters as much as the flight;
- Same-day business returns, out in the morning and back that evening, which this sector length makes genuinely practical;
- Banking, diplomatic and institutional travel, steady through the year and largely indifferent to the season that governs everyone else;
- The watch fairs and the spring trade calendar, which fill the city in a way the ski season never does because skiers do not stay in Geneva;
- Lake Geneva in summer, the quiet half of the year, when Montreux, Lausanne and Evian draw a different and much smaller flow;
- Multi-city European weeks with Geneva as the pivot, since Zurich, Milan, Lyon and Nice all sit within the hour.
The two main groups pull the booking in opposite directions. The business traveller wants a precise hour and will accept a small cabin to get it. The ski party wants a big hold and will accept a wider window to get the date. On this route we ask which of those you are before quoting anything, because the answer changes the aircraft, the airport and the amount of notice we need.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, sold at a fraction of the usual figure. London to Geneva is one of the two or three most productive corridors in Europe for them, and in the ski season the pattern is close to a timetable.
The weekly rhythm behind them
– Friday and Saturday southbound. Aircraft bring chalet parties down and fly north with an empty cabin, often within hours;
– Saturday and Sunday northbound. Exactly the reverse, as the same aircraft come back down empty to collect;
– The Alpine shuttle all winter. Aircraft move between Geneva, Sion, Chambery, Nice and the French fields continually, and those short legs are among the cheapest flying anywhere in Europe.
Light jet legs on this corridor typically run somewhere between three and seven thousand euros against fresh charter figures roughly double that. The catch is the usual one and it bites harder here: the operator owns the date and the hour, and on a slot-constrained route a leg can disappear when the original booking shifts. What makes Geneva unusual is the sheer frequency. A client who can offer a two-day window in season has a real chance rather than a theoretical one. Current offers sit on our empty legs page.

Jet Sharing
Sharing puts two or three separate bookings on one aircraft going the same way on the same day, and the cabin is paid for between them. On the Geneva corridor this works better than almost anywhere, for a reason particular to skiing.
Split seven thousand four hundred euros among seven and the seat lands near a thousand and fifty. That is inside what a peak-season scheduled ticket costs in the school holidays, and it buys a private terminal at both ends, a fifteen-minute arrival process and a hold that takes the skis. More to the point, ski parties travel on the same handful of Saturdays as each other, from the same handful of British airports, to the same handful of valleys. The matching problem largely solves itself.
Where the match comes up
– The Saturday changeovers through February and the Christmas fortnight, when the direction of travel is entirely predictable;
– Monday mornings and Thursday evenings on the business side, which run to their own reliable rhythm;
– The forum week in January, where several parties fly the same dates and each books a cabin larger than it needs.
Send us the date and the headcount, and say whether skis are coming, because the hold decides the match as often as the seats do. On this corridor we fill shared requests more often than on any other route we run.

Helicopter charter
In the Alps the helicopter is not the luxury option. It is the part of the journey that turns a lost day into a skiing afternoon, and in the peak weeks it is the difference between arriving at the chalet by lunch and arriving after dark.

When it is worth it, and when it is not
For Chamonix on a Tuesday, rarely. An hour and a quarter in a car with the luggage in the boot is a perfectly good way to get there, and the rotary leg adds cost without saving much. For Courchevel, Val d’Isere or Verbier on a changeover Saturday, almost always. The road figures those days stretch past three hours and the last twenty kilometres of mountain climb are where they stretch most. The test we apply is the day of the week rather than the destination, and we quote both so the difference is visible.
Three constraints worth knowing
– Mountain weather stops rotary flying long before it troubles a jet. Cloud in the valleys grounds a transfer on a day the aircraft lands normally, so the car is arranged as a fallback on every Alpine booking;
– Rotary capacity itself runs out in the peak weeks. On the Christmas and February Saturdays the helicopter is booked with the jet or it is not booked at all;
– Luggage is the limitation, not the seats. Skis and boots for six take more room than six people do, and on a small machine that means two rotations or a bigger cabin.
The types working this corridor are chosen for altitude and short landing sites. The Airbus H125 and the AS350 Ecureuil do the bulk of the resort work, strong on the climb and untroubled by a small pad. The wider-cabin H130 is the comfortable choice for a family with luggage. For the longer Alpine runs and marginal weather the twin-engine H135 and the Agusta AW109 Grand New take over, both cleared for instrument flight, which in a Geneva winter is worth more than cabin trim. All are locally based and locally crewed, and the rotary leg is booked with the jet so the two work to one schedule.

Geneva charters from the booking notes: six recent trips
How the corridor behaves once a quote turns into a flight. Six jobs taken from recent seasons, surnames cut to initials and a few particulars altered.
SLOT · THE CALL CAME TOO LATE
A family who wanted the Saturday of February half term
Farnborough - Chambery, Cessna Citation XLS+, about 2 h · 6 pax
They rang nine days out. Geneva had nothing at any hour they could use, which in that particular week is entirely normal rather than bad luck. Chambery had space and sits closer to their chalet in Meribel than Geneva does, so the switch cost them nothing and saved forty minutes of mountain road. The aircraft was never the problem; the airport was.
SATURDAY · THE HELICOPTER PAID FOR ITSELF
A chalet party into Courchevel at the New Year
Biggin Hill - Geneva + helicopter, Citation CJ3+ · 6 pax
They landed at eleven on the busiest Saturday of the season. By road the drive would have run past three hours with the climb from Moutiers at its worst. Thirty-five minutes in an H130 put them at the altiport before one, with the hard luggage following by car that evening. On a Tuesday we would have told them to drive.
DAY TRIP · BANKING, NOT SKIING
Mr D. F.: two meetings and back the same night
London City - Geneva and return, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 30 min each way · 3 pax
Out at half past seven, in the office by ten, wheels up again at six. The crew and the aircraft waited rather than repositioning, which on a short sector is a visible line in the quote and still came in below two one-way charters. Geneva being four kilometres from the centre is what makes this shape of trip work at all.
LUGGAGE · THE HOLD SET THE AIRCRAFT
Six skiers with equipment for a fortnight
London Luton - Geneva, Citation Latitude, about 1 h 50 min · 6 pax
Six passengers fit a light jet comfortably. Six sets of skis, boots, boards and two weeks of bags do not, and the hold rather than the seat count decided the cabin. This is the single most common reason a Geneva quote comes in above what a client first expects, and it applies every winter without fail.
FORUM WEEK · THE OTHER JANUARY SPIKE
A delegation travelling during the Davos gathering
Farnborough - Geneva, Bombardier Challenger 350, about 1 h 40 min · 8 pax
Nothing to do with skiing, and yet the same constraint. The forum turns Geneva and Zurich into the two gateways for the whole event, and slots tighten for a week around it. Booked seven weeks ahead they had the hour they wanted. The clients had assumed January was quiet because they do not ski.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY NORTHBOUND
Ms H. B.: an aircraft already flying her way
Geneva - London, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 30 min · 4 pax
Sunday evening in March, when half the fleet that came down for the weekend is going home with nobody aboard. She offered a two-day window rather than a fixed hour, which on this corridor is what makes these work, and paid a little over a third of a fresh one-way.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Geneva
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Geneva?
About 1 hour 30 minutes from Biggin Hill, London City or Farnborough, and around 1 hour 35 from Luton, covering roughly 390 to 425 nautical miles. From Bristol or Birmingham allow about an hour and forty, from Manchester an hour and fifty, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow a little over two hours. Those are block times including taxi and approach.
2How much does a private jet to Geneva cost?
From about 7,400 EUR one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill and 8,200 EUR from Luton. A midsize cabin runs 9,800 to 10,900 EUR from the southern English fields, and from Scotland allow 17,800 to 18,400 EUR. Christmas, New Year, February half term and Easter price well above these figures.
3Why is it hard to get a slot at Geneva in winter?
Geneva is a fully coordinated airport, so every arrival and departure needs a centrally allocated slot, and prior permission is separately required for non-scheduled flights. Through the ski season from December to March demand exceeds what is available, and growth in scheduled low-cost traffic has reduced what is left for private aircraft. For the peak weeks allow two to three months of notice.
4What are the alternatives when Geneva is full?
Annecy (NCY / LFLP) is about 40 km away and half an hour by road, though it has its own slot and operating-hour limits. Chambery (CMF / LFLB) is closer to Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens than Geneva is. Sion (LSGS) suits Verbier and the Valais, Lausanne takes light aircraft only, and Lyon works for large cabins when nothing else does.
5Is a helicopter worth it from Geneva to the ski resorts?
On a Saturday, usually yes. Chalet changeover day puts the whole week’s traffic on the same mountain roads, and the drive to Courchevel or Val d’Isere can pass three hours. By air Megeve is about 20 minutes, Verbier 25 to 30, Courchevel and Meribel 30 to 35 and Val d’Isere 35 to 50. Midweek, and for Chamonix at any time, the car is often the sensible answer.
