Private jet charter in Bratislava
A jet that leaves the London fields in the morning is on the ground in Bratislava a little over two hours later, and the one choice that changes the day most is which side of the Austrian border you land on. Private Jets UK builds the charter around the answer. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Bratislava has a 3,190 m runway, a General Aviation Terminal with its own passport, customs and security control, and a handling team on duty round the clock, while Vienna's Schwechat airport sits an hour away by motorway as the larger alternative. The real decisions are the landing airport, the cabin size and what happens on day two.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Bratislava depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Bratislava?
Two hours five minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, two and a half hours from Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to allow for on arrival, because Slovakia keeps Central European time. At 719 to 955 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Bratislava is an easy light-jet sector from the south of England and a job for a bigger cabin from Scotland. The table gives the sector from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground in Bratislava a little after ten local time. The airport is about 9 km north-east of the centre, and because private passengers pass through a separate terminal that has its own passport, customs and security control, the arrival is quick. A client who left a London office at half past six can be at a lunch table by the Danube before one, and the whole trip from central London to central Bratislava comes to about four hours, where a scheduled flight with a change usually eats the day.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. Two hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is no hardship, and what you save against a midsize cabin pays for the car, the hotel and dinner;
– Past four, or with ski kit for the Tatras, a golf trip, or cases of wine collected on the way home, we quote a midsize alongside so that you see both figures. On this route the hold tends to decide before the seat count does;
– A heavy jet earns its place when the party is large, when the same aircraft stays with you through several European stops, or when Bratislava is the first leg of a longer journey. Runway length is not the issue: the main runway takes nearly everything except the very largest airliners.

Onward from Bratislava: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Vienna's airport is only 27 nautical miles away on the chart and about 57 km by motorway, so nobody charters a flight for it: you land at whichever field suits the day and drive across the open border. The real onward flights are the ones with no good road. Poprad-Tatry is 137 nautical miles east, about 50 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12, and the airport stands at 718 m above sea level, among the highest in Central Europe, with charter traffic that is mostly in winter. Budapest, at 98 nautical miles, takes about 45 minutes in the same aircraft, and Prague, at 171, about an hour. All of these are inside the Schengen area, so the first landing carries the formalities and the hops after it are free of passport control.
Before you accept a Slovak onward quote
– Which airport at the far end, and what it can do for you. A mountain field at 718 m has different performance and handling from a coastal one, and customs and handling arrangements are checked before the quote is written, not after it;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Bratislava to Budapest to Prague over three days costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Bratislava:
Light jets, the usual choice for four or five people
At two hours this is a comfortable sector for a small party with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range, so the money is better spent on the car and the hotel than on a bigger cabin you will not fill.
Midsize, for ski bags, golf clubs and a case of wine
The hold fills faster than the seats on the Slovak run: boots and skis in winter, clubs in spring, and whatever came home from the vineyards in between.
Super-midsize and large
For a team that wants to work in the air, a group travelling as one party, or a trip that carries on from Bratislava to the Gulf. The 3,190 m runway takes all of these without restriction.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the Slovak and Central European hops: Poprad, Budapest and Prague are about an hour or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a hotel lawn on the Danube, the vineyards on the slopes behind the city, or a sightseeing loop over the castle. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Bratislava sits among Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Munich, so there is often an aircraft within an hour of the airport, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is normal for a capital with a small based fleet, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Bratislava
Two airports are worth discussing for a Bratislava trip, and a third matters if the trip carries on to the mountains. Which one is right depends on where the meeting is, not on the aircraft.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Bratislava, M. R. Štefánik BTS / LZIB |
The answer for any trip whose business is in Bratislava or Slovakia. About 9 km north-east of the centre, with a main runway of 3,190 m (13/31, Category IIIA approach) and a second of 2,900 m, so length limits almost nothing we send. Private and business flights use the General Aviation Terminal, a separate building with its own passport, customs and security control, and the airport lists the terminal team as available 24/7 with immigration and customs included. Fuel is Jet A1 from Slovnaft or Shell, and there are 42 marked stands on the airfield |
| Vienna International, Schwechat VIE / LOWW |
The big-jet alternative, about 57 km west of Bratislava by the A6 and A4 motorways, which is roughly an hour in the car. Two parallel runways of 3,500 m and 3,600 m and a General Aviation Centre with three handlers: Vienna Airport FBO, Jet Aviation Vienna, which runs round the clock and is also a service centre for Cessna, Bombardier and Gulfstream aircraft, and Magnum FBO. Choose it when the meeting is in Vienna, when the aircraft needs technical support, or when you want a choice of handlers |
| Poprad-Tatry TAT / LZTT |
Not an alternative to Bratislava but the airport for the Tatras and the ski season. It stands at 718 m above sea level, takes scheduled and charter traffic, and sees its charter flights mainly in winter. It is a turboprop sector from Bratislava, and we confirm customs and handling there before quoting a first landing |
Four things to settle before a Bratislava landing:
The terminal and its services
At Bratislava the airport runs the General Aviation Terminal itself. It offers aircraft handling, crew transport, flight-plan and weather support, a crew lounge, limousines, hotel booking and VIP catering. Catering has to come from certified companies, so we order it through the handler. Entry to the VIP lounge is charged per person, and the airport also lists a free-of-charge "go through" service.
Hours, slots and permits
The terminal team and traffic hours are listed as 24/7 including immigration and customs. Bratislava is a schedules-facilitated airport, so general aviation slots are requested through its own slot office. A British operator running a charter also needs Slovak landing permission, usually a block permit applied for at least three working days ahead, which the operator files and we track.
Border and passport
Slovakia is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border inside the General Aviation Terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor is asked to register a photograph and fingerprints at the EU border system.
Car and late nights
Give us the terminal as well as the flight, because a driver told only "airport" may wait at the main terminal. The airport is about 9 km from the old town, and the road to Vienna runs on to Schwechat in about an hour, with no border check on the way. A late arrival is no obstacle, since the team is on duty at night.

Border, passport and the road to Vienna
The first landing in the Schengen area is where the formalities happen, and Bratislava is a good place for them: private passengers pass through a terminal of their own, and the team knows the aircraft in advance. After that the border is invisible. Bratislava sits on the Austrian and Hungarian frontiers, so a drive to Vienna or a lunch in Hungary needs no further passport check, and the home leg is simple. For the return, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure.

From the apron to the Old Town
Bratislava is a compact capital on both banks of the Danube, at the foot of the Little Carpathians, and you reach it from the airport in the time it takes to read a briefing. It is the only national capital that borders two other countries, Austria and Hungary, which explains the distances that matter here: across the border to Vienna, on to Budapest, and by air to the Tatras.
about 9 km, with Michael's Gate and the Baroque palaces at the end of the drivetypically 20 minutes
about 57 km by the A6 and A4 motorways, with no border control on the wayabout 1 hour
the second border within reach of the city, so a Hungarian lunch is an easy detourabout 18 km

Flying to Bratislava with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a Slovak trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of just over two hours most simply sleep. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because the certificate is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

What an EU country such as Slovakia asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before the animal travels;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian and valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, presented at a travellers' point of entry, which we confirm in writing for the airport;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Bratislava run
– Slovakia does not ask for tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Bratislava towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a flight that moves by a day can move the window out of reach;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination given before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be refused entry, so the certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the terminal;
– A Christmas market weekend with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight, and our managers check the position for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Bratislava calendar: a small capital with a long festival season
Bratislava keeps a gentler rhythm than a ball city or a resort. Spring brings the marathon and the City Days, summer is dominated by open-air festivals in the castle and the old town, the autumn belongs to music and art, and December to the markets. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a festival weekend costs more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Bratislava is well placed in it. What gets tight on a busy weekend is the number of good cars and hotel rooms by the river, and these tend to peak together. A booking made two weeks before the Christmas market opening or a summer festival weekend can still be done, but it may mean an aircraft positioned from Vienna or Budapest, and that costs more. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Bratislava is one of the easier capitals to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Bratislava price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. The week after the Christmas markets open, and the weeks that fall between the summer festivals, are calmer than the weekends themselves;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Vienna, Budapest or Prague takes less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Check whether Vienna works as well. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill, the sector to Vienna is priced about £250 lower than the one to Bratislava. The saving is modest and the extra hour on the motorway is real, so let the location of the meeting decide.
Types of flights
Bratislava produces a different mix from the Alpine or the Mediterranean destinations we cover, because it is a business capital with an industrial economy, a gateway to the Danube region and a neighbour of Vienna.
- Business and industrial travel, with fixed meeting dates and a small team: the city has a large car-making plant, a major oil and gas group and a cluster of technology companies, and a plant visit often means a morning in, an afternoon out;
- Trips that combine two capitals, with a landing in Bratislava and a car on to Vienna, or the other way round, depending on where the meetings are;
- City breaks and festival weekends, from the Summer Shakespeare Festival to the Christmas markets, often with a dog and a short hotel stay;
- Danube and wine weekends, with a helicopter or a car into the Little Carpathians;
- Ski trips that start in the capital and end in the Tatras, usually flown on from Bratislava to Poprad-Tatry by turboprop;
- Hops to Budapest and Prague inside a longer European loop.
The day trip is the one to look at closely. Land a little after ten, leave at five in the afternoon local time and you are on the British side again shortly after six in the evening, UK time, with seven hours on the ground in between. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. We quote it both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Bratislava does not have one dominant event that creates them, so they come from the pattern of neighbouring airports, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Bratislava empty legs come from
– Vienna and Budapest weekends. Aircraft that bring a party to either capital and leave empty on the Sunday often pass within an hour of Bratislava, and a leg towards Britain from there is the one most often offered;
– Christmas market weekends. Small parties arrive on the Friday and the aircraft goes home empty, which produces an outbound leg on the Friday or Saturday;
– The winter ski season. Operators moving aircraft to and from Poprad-Tatry put short Slovak legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Slovak corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Bratislava match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Bratislava a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The Old Town is small enough to cross by car or on foot, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the Danube corridor, the Little Carpathians behind the city and the short hop across the border.
the castle plateau about 85 m above the Danube, the Old Town and the river bridges, seen from the airtypically 30 minutes
the ruined castle on the rock where the Morava meets the Danube, west of the centretypically 40 minutes
27 nm in a straight line, against about an hour on the motorway, for a party that has to make a long-haul connectiontypically 25 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn or a vineyard terrace before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Fog, low cloud and winter snow can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– A flight across the border into Austria or Hungary means a second set of permissions. Tell us the landing site at the other end when you ask for the quote, and book the helicopter together with the jet.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for scenic and mountain work, the wider H130 for villa and vineyard transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Bratislava charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Bratislava and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Bratislava and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 05 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after ten local time, in the meeting by eleven and back at Biggin Hill in the early evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the General Aviation Terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. A long day, and it works.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT · FIXED DATES
A supplier team for a plant visit and a site tour
London Luton - Bratislava, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 05 min · 8 pax
The dates were set by the plant and not by the client. Eight people, laptops, printed folders and a request for one car to meet the aircraft. The booking went in three weeks ahead, the handler pre-arranged the passport check at the terminal, and nothing needed explaining on the day.
TWO CAPITALS · THE AIRPORT WENT TO THE MEETING
A group booked for Vienna, with half the meetings in Bratislava
Farnborough - Bratislava, Phenom 300E, about 2 h · 6 pax
They had asked for Vienna because it is the name everyone knows. Most of the meetings were on the Slovak side of the river, so we quoted Bratislava, saved them the hour on the motorway at the start of the day, and arranged the car to Vienna for the last two days. The only cost was asking where the meetings were before quoting.
THE TATRAS · SKI KIT AND A WEEKEND
A family week in the mountains, via Poprad-Tatry
Farnborough - Poprad-Tatry, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 20 min · 6 pax
Six people, ski bags and boots took the hold well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved up a class. We landed at the mountain airport rather than at Bratislava, confirmed customs and handling there beforehand, and arranged the transfer from the terminal to the resort at the same time.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend
Southampton - Bratislava, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 10 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Bratislava for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST
A jet already going your way
Bratislava - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Bratislava
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Bratislava?
About 2 hours 5 minutes from London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 2 hours from Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 719 to 749 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 25 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. Slovakia is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly after ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Bratislava cost?
From about £10,100 one way on a light jet out of London City or Biggin Hill, and £10,350 to £10,500 in a Phenom from Luton or Farnborough. A midsize cabin runs £13,250 to £14,100 from the south and Midlands, and from Scotland allow £19,200 to £19,800. Christmas market weekends and the summer festival weeks can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Bratislava or Vienna?
Bratislava M. R. Štefánik (BTS / LZIB) if the business is in Bratislava or Slovakia. It is about 9 km from the old town and has a 3,190 m runway and a General Aviation Terminal with its own passport, customs and security control, listed as available 24/7. Vienna Schwechat (VIE / LOWW) is about 57 km away, roughly an hour by motorway, and is the better choice when the meeting is in Vienna or the aircraft needs technical support. On the same light jet the Vienna sector from Biggin Hill is about £250 cheaper.
4Do I need a visa or customs clearance for Bratislava?
Britain is outside Schengen and Slovakia is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival, inside the General Aviation Terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. Hotels register guests automatically; in private accommodation you must notify the foreigners police within three working days. The operator and our team handle the aircraft paperwork, including Slovak landing permission where it applies.
5Can I fly on from Bratislava to Poprad, Budapest or Vienna?
Poprad-Tatry, the airport for the Tatras, is 137 nautical miles from Bratislava and about 50 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12. Budapest is 98 nautical miles and Prague 171, both around an hour or less, with no passport control between them. Vienna is only about 57 km by motorway, so you land at one airport and drive; there is no border check on the road. A helicopter can cover the last stretch if the landing site is agreed first.
6Can I take my dog to Bratislava on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and an EU country such as Slovakia asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. A British pet passport cannot be used. Slovakia does not ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
