Private jet charter in Bastia
Bastia is two hours from the London airfields in a light jet, and the number that governs the booking is 48: prior permission from the handler is mandatory for every business flight into Poretta, and it has to be in two days ahead. Private Jets UK plans the charter around that rule. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Poretta has a 2,520 m runway, police on duty round the clock and customs that follow a seasonal timetable, while Calvi, Figari and Ajaccio stand ready as alternatives when the programme points beyond Haute-Corse. The real decisions are the hour of arrival, the airport you fall back on when the wind closes the north of the island, and what happens on the road to Cap Corse.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Bastia depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Bastia?
Two hours from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, two and a half hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to add on arrival, because Corsica keeps Paris time. At 679 to 1,003 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Bastia is a comfortable light-jet sector from the south of England and a job for a bigger cabin from Scotland. The table gives the sector from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you touch down at Poretta a little after ten local time. The airport lies about 16 km south-south-east of Bastia, and a car reaches the Old Port in about 20 minutes, typically. Business flights are received at the general aviation building on the Charlie apron, linked to the terminal by the handler's shuttle. Police are listed on duty round the clock, so the hour of arrival rarely matters for passports; customs is the item with a calendar, because it works day and night only from 1 April to 30 September. A client who left a London office at half past six can be at lunch on the quay of the Old Port before one.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. Two hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is easy flying, and what you save against a midsize cabin pays for the driver and a good table at Saint-Florent;
– Past four, or with sailing bags, dive kit and cases of Patrimonio wine for the way home, we quote a midsize alongside so that you see both figures. On Corsican trips the hold tends to decide before the seat count does;
– A heavy jet earns its place when the party is large, when the aircraft stays with you across several Corsican stops, or when Bastia is the first leg of a longer journey. At 2,520 m the runway is long enough; what you settle with the handler is the stand and the taxi route, because two taxiways at Poretta carry size limits.

Onward from Bastia: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Calvi is 32 nautical miles from Poretta and about 90 km by road, around an hour and a half at the wheel, so the aircraft gains less there than the map suggests once handling at both ends is counted. Ajaccio is the stronger case: 50 nautical miles, about 30 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12, against 154 km and some two and a half hours on the road through the mountains. Figari, in the far south, is 68 nautical miles. Flights to Nice, Cannes and Paris are domestic and carry no passport check at the far end, and Italy is inside the Schengen area as well, so the formalities happen once, at the first landing in France.
Before you accept a Corsican onward quote
– What the far airport demands. Calvi takes general aviation only with permission requested 72 hours ahead, or 24 hours in the IATA summer season, allows no landings at night, and asks the captain of an aircraft above 5,700 kg or with more than 10 passenger seats for a site reconnaissance or approved simulator training. Figari is slot-coordinated for IFR flights in summer. Handling and parking are checked before the quote is written, not after it;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Bastia to Ajaccio to Figari and home over four days costs noticeably less arranged as one trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Bastia:
Light jets, the usual choice for four or five people
At two hours this is a comfortable sector for a small party with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range, so the money is better spent on the driver and the hotel than on a bigger cabin you will not fill.
Midsize, for sailing bags, dive kit and wine cases
The hold fills faster than the seats on a Corsican trip: soft bags for a yacht in summer, diving gear, and whatever comes home from the estates around Saint-Florent.
Super-midsize and large
For a team that wants to work in the air, a group travelling as one party, or a trip that carries on from Bastia to Sardinia or the Riviera. The 2,520 m runway takes all of these, and the stand and taxi route are confirmed with the handler.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the Corsican and Tyrrhenian hops: Calvi, Ajaccio, Figari, Pisa and Olbia are an hour or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the Gulf of Saint-Florent, the tip of Cap Corse, or a sightseeing loop over the Citadelle and the Old Port. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Bastia sits within an hour of Nice, Cannes, Pisa and Olbia, so there is often an aircraft near the island, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is normal for a regional airport, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Bastia
One airport carries most trips to the north of the island, and three more matter when the programme leaves Haute-Corse. Which one is right depends on where the guests sleep, not on the aircraft.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Bastia-Poretta BIA / LFKB |
The answer for any trip to Bastia, Cap Corse, Saint-Florent and the Nebbiu. About 16 km south-south-east of the city, with a single runway of 2,520 m by 45 m (16/34), an ILS on runway 34 and slope indicators at both ends. Business flights are received in the general aviation building on the Charlie apron, and the handler's shuttle to the terminal is compulsory. Ground handling is by SATAB. Jet A-1 is sold from 07:00 to 19:00 local time, hangar space for visiting aircraft is listed, and there is no de-icing |
| Calvi, Sainte-Catherine CLY / LFKC |
The Balagne alternative, about 6 km south-east of Calvi, with a runway of 2,310 m by 45 m (18/36) and a localiser approach to runway 18 with no ILS category published. It works in daylight only, since landings at night are not permitted. General aviation needs prior permission 72 hours ahead (24 hours in the IATA summer season), and handling is mandatory. By road it is about 90 km from Bastia, so choose it when the guests are in Calvi, Île-Rousse or the Balagne and the crew is approved for the field |
| Ajaccio, Napoléon Bonaparte AJA / LFKJ |
The island's other main airport, about 5 km east of Ajaccio, with a runway of 2,300 m by 45 m (02/20) and an ILS on runway 02. Customs and police are listed round the clock, and business and private flights need permission 48 hours ahead. By road it is 154 km from Bastia, some two and a half hours, so it is the second base of a trip that covers both coasts and not a substitute for Poretta |
| Figari, Sud-Corse FSC / LFKF |
The southern alternative, serving Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio, with a runway of 2,480 m by 45 m (05/23) and an ILS on runway 23. In summer it is a slot-coordinated airport for IFR flights, and customs are listed from 05:00 to 17:00 local time on 48 hours' notice. It is a long way from Bastia and belongs to a southern programme, but it matters here for another reason: it stayed open on a day when strong wind closed Ajaccio, Bastia and Calvi |
Four things to settle before a Poretta landing:
The handler and the apron
Poretta has no stand-alone private terminal. Business passengers are received in the general aviation building on the Charlie apron, and the handler, SATAB, runs a compulsory shuttle between that building and the terminal. Fuelling needs prior agreement with the handler, and the AIP lists hangar space for visiting aircraft. Tell the driver the building and the apron, not only the word airport.
Hours, local time and permission
The French AIP gives its hours in UTC with summer times one hour earlier, so the clock times on the island stay the same all year, and we quote them in local time. Police and air traffic control are listed round the clock. Jet A-1 is sold from 07:00 to 19:00, and outside those hours on request made before 16:00. Fire cover is category 7 from 06:00 to midnight and category 5 until six, so a large cabin is best planned inside the earlier window. Every business flight needs the handler's permission 48 hours ahead, and the AIP page mentions no slots.
Border and passport
France is in Schengen and Britain is not, so the first landing carries the passport check and customs. Customs are open day and night from 1 April to 30 September and in daylight from 1 October to 31 March, with night hours on request made before 18:00 local time. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years earlier and valid for three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints at the EU border system, which is free.
Wind, birds and a second airport
Poretta is one of the Corsican airports that close in a strong wind alert: on one such day Ajaccio, Bastia and Calvi were shut, only Figari stayed open and flights were diverted. Take-off is prohibited when runway visibility is below 550 m, and the AIP warns of red kites from spring to early July. None of this is unusual for an island airport. It means the plan carries a fallback landing and a car that can cover the distance, so we name the alternate in the quote.

Passport, customs and the first landing in France
The first landing in the Schengen area is where the formalities happen, and for a British party that landing is Poretta, which is why we file the permission request with the handler first and the details of the party straight after. From then on the border is invisible. Corsica is part of France, so a hop to Calvi, Ajaccio, Nice or Paris is a domestic flight with no passport check, and Pisa or Olbia sit inside the Schengen area as well. On the road nothing changes either, although a car can still be stopped for a document check. For the return, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure, and the aircraft comes home to an airfield that has customs.

From the apron to the Old Port
Bastia is a port city of about 47,000 people on the north-east coast, squeezed between the sea and the ridge of the Serra di Pignu, which rises to 960 m behind it. It was the Genoese capital of the island and the layout shows it: the Old Port is a narrow cove lined with cafes and restaurants, the Citadelle, known as Terra Nova, crowns the rock above and holds the Governors' Palace, now the city museum, and the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste looks down on the quay. The ferry harbour begins just north of the cove, with Corsica Ferries, Moby Lines and Corsica Linea sailing to Livorno, Toulon and Marseille through the year, and to Genoa, Savona, Nice and Piombino, the mainland port for Elba, on seasonal or part-year timetables. Place Saint-Nicolas, with its statue of Napoleon, faces the harbour. What matters to a private client is what lies within a day: Cap Corse to the north, the harbour and vineyards of Saint-Florent to the west, and the Agriates beaches beyond.

Flying to Bastia with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a Corsican trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and two hours in the air is a nap for most dogs. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because the certificate is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

What France asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time. France accepts a tattoo only in old, documented cases, so a microchip is the safe route;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed after the first vaccination before the animal travels. France asks for no rabies blood test for animals coming from Great Britain;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian and valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, and the animal is presented to customs on arrival at the designated entry point, without an appointment. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork in writing before the flight;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Bastia run
– France does not ask for tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Bastia towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a flight that moves by a day can move the window out of reach;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination given before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be refused entry, so the certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the apron;
– France sorts some dogs into categories. Category 1 dogs, such as pit bull types and non-pedigree Staffordshire and Tosa types, cannot be brought in at all, and category 2 dogs, a group that includes Rottweilers, come under strict conditions. Tell us the breed when you ask for the quote, not afterwards.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight, and our managers check the position for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Bastia calendar: one real season and a few dates around it
Bastia has a single high season, from the first warm weekends to the end of the summer holidays, with a handful of cultural dates at either end of the year. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a summer weekend costs more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Corsica is well placed in it, with Nice 124 nautical miles and Olbia 103 nautical miles away. What gets tight in July and August is the number of rooms and cars in Bastia and on the Cap, and the stands at Poretta, which every business flight requests in advance. A booking made two weeks before an August weekend can still be done, but it may mean an aircraft positioned from Nice or Olbia, and that costs more. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside high summer a charter can usually be arranged in two or three days, with the 48-hour permission setting the pace.
Ways to bring the Bastia price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. The weeks around mid-August are the tight ones, and June and September are calmer than the weekends of high summer;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Nice, Cannes, Pisa or Olbia needs less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Check whether Calvi works as well. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill the sector to Calvi is priced about £200 lower than the one to Bastia, and the sector to Ajaccio about £200 higher. The difference is small and the road is not, so let the location of the guests decide, and remember that Calvi is a daylight-only field with its own crew requirement.
Types of flights
Bastia produces a different mix from the Riviera or the Alpine destinations we cover, because it is the harbour town of the island's north, a former Genoese capital with a working port, and the gate to Cap Corse, the wine country of the Nebbiu and the Agriates.
- Yacht and sea-going clients: owners and guests joining a boat in the Old Port or in the Cap Corse harbours, and crews changing over by air while the boat stays;
- Wine and table: days at the Patrimonio estates near Saint-Florent, with a driver and lunch on the harbour;
- Cap Corse by road, usually over two days, with Erbalunga, Macinaggio, Centuri and Nonza as the stops;
- Beach days at Saleccia and Lotu by boat from Saint-Florent, in the season only;
- Sea-and-air journeys: guests who arrive by ferry from Livorno or Piombino after a Tuscan or Elba week and fly home from Poretta, or the reverse;
- Hops to Calvi, Ajaccio and Figari, and across the water to Tuscany, Sardinia and the Riviera, inside a longer European loop;
- Cultural weekends around the Italian film festival in winter, the governors' procession in July or Arte Mare in the autumn.
The day trip is the one to look at closely. Land a little after ten, leave at five in the afternoon local time and you are on the British side again shortly after six in the evening, UK time, with seven hours on the ground in between. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. In winter remember that customs work in daylight and the sun sets early. We quote the day trip both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Bastia does not have a single event that creates them, so they come from the pattern of neighbouring airports, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Bastia empty legs come from
– Summer changeover weekends. Parties arrive on the Saturday and the aircraft goes home empty, which produces a leg towards Britain or the mainland on the Saturday or Sunday;
– The Riviera and Sardinia. Aircraft that take guests to Nice, Cannes or Olbia sometimes reposition through Bastia, and a leg towards Britain from there is one that can be offered;
– Festival dates. Operators moving aircraft to and from Calvi, Ajaccio and Figari for the July and August events put short legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Corsican corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Bastia match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Bastia a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The Old Port and the Citadelle are small enough to cross on foot, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the Cap Corse peninsula, the Gulf of Saint-Florent and the coast beyond.
the Old Port, the Citadelle and the ferry harbour, with the Serra di Pignu rising behindtypically 30 minutes
12 nm in a straight line over the hills, against about an hour by road from the airportabout 14 minutes
16 nm to the village above the black pebble beach on the west coast of Cap Corseabout 16 minutes
26 nm to the lobster port at the north-western tip of the peninsulaabout 22 minutes
32 nm in a straight line to the Balagne, against about 90 km by roadabout 25 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. At Poretta the helicopter area is used on the tower's clearance, and a landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check a hotel lawn or a harbour quay before the quote is written, not after it. The Agriates are a protected coastal site where fires and bivouacs are forbidden and guards patrol, so plan Saleccia and Lotu by boat from Saint-Florent and not by air;
– Wind sets the schedule. The gusts that have closed the island's airports for a day would ground a helicopter first, and Cap Corse takes the strongest of them, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– A flight to Calvi, Ajaccio or Italy means a second set of permissions. Tell us the landing site at the other end when you ask for the quote, and book the helicopter together with the jet.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for scenic and coastal work, the wider H130 for villa and country-house transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Bastia charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Bastia and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Bastia and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after ten local time, in the meeting by eleven and back at Biggin Hill in the early evening. The aircraft and crew waited at Poretta rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. The permission request went in three days ahead. A long day, and it works.
WINE · THE NEBBIU
Three estates and a harbour lunch
Farnborough - Bastia, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 55 min · 6 pax
A party of six wanted the Patrimonio estates and nothing else. We landed them at Bastia, put one driver on the hill road to Saint-Florent, about 40 minutes from the city, booked three tastings at estates that receive visitors and a table on the harbour, and brought them back to Poretta for an evening departure. The aircraft stayed on the apron all day.
CAP CORSE · TWO DAYS ON THE ROAD
Round the peninsula, in and out at Poretta
London Luton - Bastia, Citation XLS+, about 2 h · 8 pax
Two nights, two hotels, and the road between them. Erbalunga on the way up, Macinaggio and a boat trip past the nature reserve islands, Centuri for lunch and Nonza on the way back. The advice we gave was to take the east coast on the first day and the west on the second, and to let the aircraft wait at Poretta rather than reposition.
THE YACHT · A CHANGEOVER
Guests joining a boat in the Old Port
Southampton - Bastia, Citation XLS+, about 2 h · 7 pax
The boat lay in the Old Port and the guests joined on a Saturday. Seven people, soft bags because the yacht had no room for hard cases, and a car to take them from the apron to the quay. The handler had the permission and the stand confirmed a week ahead, which in August is the part that matters.
A DOG ON BOARD
Two adults and a labrador for a long weekend
Manchester - Bastia, Citation Latitude, about 2 h 15 min · 2 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Bastia for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING NORTH
A jet already going your way
Bastia - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 55 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party to the island for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Bastia
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Bastia?
About 2 hours from London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 1 hour 55 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 679 to 715 nautical miles. From Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester allow 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes. Corsica is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands a little after ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Bastia cost?
From about £9,650 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, £9,700 from London City, and £9,850 to £10,100 in a Phenom from Farnborough or Luton. A midsize cabin runs £12,250 to £13,050 from the south and the west, and from Scotland allow £20,300 to £20,650. July and August weekends and festival weeks can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Bastia, Calvi, Ajaccio or Figari?
Bastia-Poretta (BIA / LFKB) for Bastia, Cap Corse, Saint-Florent and the Nebbiu. It is about 16 km from the city, has a 2,520 m runway with an ILS on runway 34, and business flights use the general aviation building on the Charlie apron. Calvi (CLY / LFKC) suits the Balagne but works in daylight only, with its own permission and crew rules, and on the same light jet from Biggin Hill it is priced about £200 lower. Ajaccio (AJA / LFKJ) and Figari (FSC / LFKF) belong to the centre and the south of the island.
4Do I need a visa, customs clearance or permission for Bastia?
Britain is outside Schengen and France is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival at Bastia. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years earlier and valid for three months beyond departure. Every business flight also needs the handler's prior permission, requested 48 hours ahead, and handling is arranged by agreement with the handler. Police are listed round the clock; customs are listed day and night from 1 April to 30 September and in daylight, with other hours on request, from 1 October to 31 March. We file the permission request together with the aircraft paperwork.
5Can I arrive at night, and what are the airport hours?
Air traffic control and police are listed round the clock, so a night arrival is possible. The French AIP gives hours in UTC with summer times one hour earlier, which in local time means Jet A-1 from 07:00 to 19:00 and on request outside those hours before 16:00, fire cover of category 7 from 06:00 to midnight and category 5 after that, and customs day and night from 1 April to 30 September. In winter customs work in daylight and the night hours are on request. Strong wind can close the airport, in which case Calvi, Ajaccio or Figari take the diversion, and Figari stayed open on one such day.
6Can I take my dog to Bastia on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and France asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. A British pet passport cannot be used, and no rabies blood test is asked for animals coming from Great Britain. The dog is presented to customs on arrival. France does not ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment. Some dog categories cannot be imported, so tell us the breed.
