Private jet charter in Dubai

A private jet that leaves a London airfield at breakfast time lands in Dubai in the early evening, and that single fact shapes everything else about the route: it is a seven-hour sector, flown in a super-midsize or large-cabin aircraft, and the planning is about the cabin, the airport and the date more than about the destination itself. Private Jets UK arranges the charter from the first quote to the car at the aircraft door. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Dubai has two airports that matter for business aviation, one four kilometres from the city and one forty minutes out, and a calendar that swings between trade-show weeks when everything is full and a hot, quiet summer when it is not.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Dubai depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Stansted, an Embraer Praetor 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Dubai?

Plan around seven hours. From Biggin Hill or Stansted in an Embraer Praetor 600 it is a little over seven, a Global 6000 shaves that to about six and a half, and from Glasgow the same Praetor needs about 7 hours 40 minutes. Dubai keeps Gulf time all year, four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three in summer, because the UAE does not move its clocks, so a breakfast departure lands in the evening local time. At roughly 3,070 to 3,280 nautical miles the sector is long for a super-midsize jet, but the Praetor 600 is published at about 4,018 nautical miles with four passengers and standard reserves, so every sector in the table below is flown without a fuel stop. With a full cabin the usable range is shorter than that figure, and the operator confirms the fuel plan for your passenger count before the offer is final. The table gives the sector from each British field we use, measured to Dubai International.

Door to door, and where the evening goes

Leave Farnborough at nine in the morning and you are on the ground in the Gulf for dinner. Al Maktoum, the airport south-west of the city, is a drive of 35 to 45 minutes to Downtown and about 40 to the financial centre, and Dubai International sits only 4 km east of the centre, so a car there takes little longer than a cross-town journey. Add the quick processing in a private terminal and a client can be at the table within an hour of landing. The way home typically runs longer, because the aircraft meets the prevailing westerly flow for much of the sector, and half an hour on top of the outbound time is common.

Seven hours in the air: which cabin

– Up to about eight people with ordinary luggage, the Embraer Praetor 600 is the economical answer, and for most trips of this length it is the right one;

– Between eight and fourteen, or when the party wants to work or sleep, a large-cabin jet such as the Challenger 605 or Falcon 900LX, or a Gulfstream G450 or G550, adds room. A Global 6000 out of Biggin Hill comes to £84,600 and flies the sector in about 6 h 35 min, about 35 minutes quicker than the Praetor;

– A midsize or light jet can be made to work with a fuel stop on the way. It lengthens the day by an hour or more and adds landing and handling costs, so the saving over a Praetor is smaller than the hourly rates suggest. We price both versions when the budget is the deciding point.

The Emirates in an hour: what the short hops are for

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the usual reason for a second leg: a government meeting, a bank, a family office. It has its own business aviation airport, Al Bateen Executive, 12 km south-east of the city, so there is no need to drive in from Dubai. Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman coast is the way to reach the east coast beaches and the mountains without a long road transfer. Muscat, Doha and Bahrain are quick enough to be a day trip with the aircraft waiting, and for those the cheaper plan is usually a round trip quoted as one booking, because the crew stays with you rather than repositioning back to Dubai between each stop.

Before you accept an onward quote in the Gulf

– Which airport, and whether it needs a slot. Dubai International is a coordinated airport where slots are required, and a quote that gives you a departure time from there without one will change. Sharjah and Al Bateen, by contrast, are listed as not needing slots;

– Whether overflight and landing permits are included. Gulf trips cross several states, and the overflight permit for the countries on the way is not the same document as the landing permit, so we ask the operator to confirm both in writing;

– Whether the aircraft is a round-trip or a one-way booking. Dubai to Riyadh and back on the same day costs far less than two one-way hires, but only if the crew hours work out.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h

Large medium-class jet (Challenger 300)£4,600 - 5,500/h
Large jet (Legacy 600)£4,900 - 5,800/h
Long-haul jet (Global 5000, G550, Falcon 7X)£5,800 - 8,800/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Dubai:

Super-midsize and large cabin, where most Dubai bookings land

The sensible class for a seven-hour sector. These aircraft fly Britain to Dubai without a stop, and between them they cover almost every party size up to a dozen people. The Praetor is the entry point, and the larger cabins follow it.

Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Embraer Legacy 650 · 13 seatsfrom £4,600/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Dassault Falcon 900LX · 12 seatsfrom £5,400/h

Ultra-long range, for speed and room

The Global is the fastest way there; the Gulfstreams are the ones people choose when the party wants to sleep and work in the same cabin.

Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h
Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom £6,400/h
Gulfstream G550 · 16 seatsfrom £6,700/h
Gulfstream G650ER · 14 seatsfrom £7,700/h
Bombardier Global 7500 · 14 seatsfrom £8,300/h

Midsize and light, for the Gulf

Not for the flight from Britain without a stop, but the right aircraft for Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha and Riyadh, where the money goes on the hour and not on range you do not use.

Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h

Turboprops

The right aircraft for the short domestic Emirates legs, such as Fujairah, where a jet saves almost no time and costs a good deal more.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

For the last stretch and for the sightseeing flight, not for the journey from Britain. Dubai-based operators such as Falcon Aviation and HeliDubai fly helicopters, and landing sites are agreed before the quote.

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. Large-cabin aircraft are the scarce resource on this route, and the best price often comes from one that is already in the Gulf or has just finished a trip into Europe, so a client who can name a few days rather than one date usually pays less. Dubai has a deep local fleet as well; charter operators based there include DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, ExecuJet Middle East, Falcon Aviation, Jet Aviation and Jetex.

Business aviation airports in Dubai

Two airports carry almost all business aviation in Dubai, and the choice between them is the most important decision on the trip. Three more, in neighbouring emirates, are worth knowing before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Dubai International
DXB / OMDB
The airport nearest the city, only about 4 km east of the centre. Open round the clock, with a longest runway of about 4,450 m and customs on site. Business aviation here is the tighter side of the operation: slots are required, handling is mandatory, the airport is a coordinated one, and ExecuJet Middle East, in the Dubai Airport Free Zone, reports restricted parking. Jet Aviation is also based at the airport. The place for a short, central, tightly timed trip
Al Maktoum International, Dubai South
DWC / OMDW
The newer airport, about 38 km south-west of the city and open 24 hours with 24-hour customs. The longest of its two runways is 4,500 m, there is no curfew, and business aviation is generally unrestricted, although slot coordination and prior permission are listed and we confirm both per flight. Several FBOs work here, including Jetex, ExecuJet Middle East, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim and Falcon Aviation at Dubai South. In our experience large cabins and long stays usually end up here
Sharjah International
SHJ / OMSJ
In the next emirate along, with a runway of about 4,060 m and round-the-clock operation. It is a designated airport of entry. Slots are not required and handling is mandatory. A useful alternative when Dubai is full or when the client is staying in Sharjah or on the northern side of the city
Al Bateen Executive, Abu Dhabi
AZI / OMAD
Abu Dhabi's business aviation airport, about 12 km south-east of the city, with a runway of about 3,200 m. It is open 24 hours with customs on site, slots are not required, and Jetex runs the FBO. Land here and not in Dubai when the meeting is in the capital
Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah
RKT / OMRK, FJR / OMFJ
The northern emirate and the Gulf of Oman coast. Neither is a rival to the Dubai airports for a city trip, but each saves a long drive for a client who is staying in the resort or the mountains. Handling and customs availability are confirmed for each flight

Four points settle most Dubai arrivals:

DXB or DWC

Pick DXB when the diary is tight and the guest list is small: it is 4 km from the centre and a car is quick. Pick DWC for a large cabin, a long stay, a night arrival or a party that wants the freedom of a big apron. The 35 to 45 minutes on the road is the price of that freedom, and with a large aircraft it is usually worth paying.

Slots and permits

Dubai International requires slots and mandatory handling, and both airports are listed as slot-coordinated. Neither has a curfew. We request the slot and the landing permit together and ask for both in writing before you commit, because a schedule that ignores either is a schedule that will change.

Entry and passport

The UAE asks for a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry. British holders are normally admitted without a prior visa, but the entry rules for your nationality and length of stay are checked before departure, because they change. Customs and immigration are at the private terminal, and the handler meets the aircraft.

Cars and the clock

Give us the handler as well as the airport, because a driver told only Dubai Airport may wait at the wrong door. At DWC the transfer to Downtown takes 35 to 45 minutes, so a dinner booking should allow for it. For a night departure put the late car and crew hours into the quote from the start.

business aviation

Border, passport and the private terminal

On a private flight the formalities are done at the aircraft and in the terminal, not in the main hall, which is the reason a private arrival feels so different from a scheduled one. The handler arranges customs and immigration clearance at the private terminal, and we send the passenger list ahead of time. What matters on your side is the passport: valid for at least six months from the day of entry.

passport and customs paperwork for a private jet flight

From the apron to Downtown

Dubai is a long, thin city, and the distances that matter are along the coast. Which airport you land at decides whether you are in the centre in ten minutes or in forty.

Dubai International to the centre of Dubai
about 4 km, and the reason it suits a quick, central trip
under 15 minutes
Al Maktoum to Downtown Dubai
about 38 km south-west of the city
35 to 45 minutes
Al Maktoum to the financial centre (DIFC)
the usual destination for a business arrival
about 40 minutes
Sharjah International to Sharjah town
about 13 km, in the next emirate
a short drive
Al Bateen Executive to Abu Dhabi
about 12 km south-east of the city
a short drive

Flying to Dubai with a dog or a cat

Two sets of paperwork, one at each end, with a visit to the vet in the middle. The UAE wants a permit before the animal travels, and Britain wants a fresh certificate before it comes home, so the pet rules are the part of a Dubai trip that most needs doing early.

private flight with animals

What the UAE asks for on the way in:

  • An import permit from the federal ministry responsible for climate change and the environment, applied for online before the animal travels;
  • An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
  • A rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before entry, plus the standard core vaccines for the species;
  • An export health certificate from an Official Veterinarian, endorsed by the Animal and Plant Health Agency and issued shortly before the flight;
  • Internal and external parasite treatment recorded by the vet in the fortnight before travel;
  • No more than two cats or dogs per person per year, and no animal from the banned list, which includes several fighting breeds.

What catches owners out on the Dubai run

– The UAE rules, as they are commonly published, treat an arriving pet as cargo rather than baggage. Carrying a dog in the cabin of a private jet is therefore not something to assume: we ask the handler and the veterinary authority first, and tell you the answer before the quote is accepted;

– Coming home, Britain asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate or a Great Britain health certificate, and for a dog a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 hours and 5 days before arrival. The UAE is on the list of countries that need no blood test for this route. Britain also asks that the animal arrives by an approved route, so how a private aircraft fits that rule is something we confirm in writing for your date;

– The online permit asks for an Emirates ID, which a visiting owner does not have. Ask us before you start the application, because the route for visitors is different and the form will not warn you.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Dubai calendar: a winter city with a trade-show habit

Dubai turns the usual seasons upside down. The city is busiest from October to April, when the weather is kind and the exhibition halls are full, and quietest in the heat of the summer. Which weeks you choose matters more than which aircraft.

January to February
The marathon in January, the health-care trade show in the same month, then Gulfood, the food trade show, the jazz festival and the boat show in February. The shopping festival starts in December and the winter school holidays run into the new year, so the city is at its fullest
March
The Dubai World Cup, the horse race at Meydan, and Art Dubai. A racing weekend brings owners and their guests, and large-cabin aircraft are hard to find for it
April
Arabian Travel Market, the travel trade show. Delegations from across Europe arrive on scheduled and private flights alike, so allow extra lead time
May to September
The hot months. Business travel slows, summer promotions fill the shops and hotels, and a charter can often be arranged in a day or two. Some clients use the summer for a quieter trip
October
GITEX, the technology show, fills the exhibition halls. Expect heavy business aviation traffic for the week, with the best aircraft and slots going early
November
The Dubai Airshow, held every two years, and Gulfood Manufacturing. In airshow years the whole month needs planning well ahead
December
The Big 5 trade show and the start of the shopping festival, with the school holidays right behind. Families fly out for the winter break and return in the first week of January
Ramadan
Not fixed to a month: it moves through the calendar from one year to the next. Business hours and restaurant hours typically change, so a delegation should ask the hotel and the host before fixing the timetable.

Why a show week costs more

Not the flying. The large-cabin fleet that can fly the sector without a stop is far smaller than the midsize fleet that works Europe, and during GITEX, the racing weekend or the Christmas break most of it is already committed. Booking a fortnight before one of those weeks can still be done, but it pays more, and the aircraft may be positioned from Europe, which means paying for an extra long leg. The same booking made six or eight weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks, and especially in the summer, Dubai is easy to reach at short notice.

Ways to bring the Dubai price down

  • Move the dates by a few days off the show weeks. The week after GITEX is calm, and so is the second half of January once the holidays have ended;
  • Look at where the aircraft is based. A jet that already lives in Dubai, such as those run by the Dubai-based charter operators, comes with less positioning than one from Britain, and on a seven-hour sector positioning is a large share of the bill;
  • Book the round trip as one booking. A long-haul return quoted together costs less than two one-way hires, and it also fixes the aircraft for the whole stay;
  • Check the empty legs on the way back. Aircraft that brought a Gulf party to Britain often return with nobody aboard, and a seven-hour empty leg is one of the larger savings we see.

Types of flights

Dubai produces a mix of trips that is unlike the European capitals we cover, because the city is a trade-show host, a winter-sun destination and a hub for the whole region all at once.

  • Trade-show and delegation travel in the autumn and spring weeks, where the dates are fixed by the event and the party often needs to arrive together;
  • Winter-break family trips, with children, luggage and a long return flight home;
  • The racing weekend in March for owners, trainers and their guests;
  • Gulf business hops to Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Muscat, often in a day and often tied in with a Dubai stop;
  • Onward holidays to the Maldives and the Seychelles, flown from Dubai when the winter-sun party wants to carry on from the city;
  • Medical and repatriation flights between Britain and the Gulf, which need a crew and aircraft that can hold the sector without stopping.

A same-day return is not realistic from Britain. The sector is too long and the clock difference too awkward, so a business trip is normally an overnight at least, with the aircraft and crew either staying in the Gulf or going home empty and coming back. We quote both and show the difference, because the cheaper answer depends on how many days you stay.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On a seven-hour route the saving is larger than on a European hop, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Dubai empty legs come from

– Show weeks. Delegations arrive on charters from across Europe, and the aircraft leave empty a day or two later, producing outbound legs from the Gulf in the days after GITEX, the airshow or the racing weekend;

– The school holidays. Aircraft bring families out in late December and fly back to Europe empty, or collect them in early January and come out empty, and either direction can be a bargain;

– Fleets based in the Gulf. Charter operators in Dubai reposition aircraft to Europe to pick up clients, and the return flight to the Gulf is the one that comes up for sale.

Because the Dubai corridor is long and the large-cabin fleet is small, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Dubai match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In Dubai a helicopter is a way to see the city and to cover the last few miles, more than a way to cross the country. Falcon Aviation and HeliDubai are among the operators based in the emirate, and the machines are booked alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. Pads and rooftops need an approved status, and a hotel or a villa has to be confirmed before we quote, not after;

– Summer heat affects both helicopter performance and comfort. The cooler season is the easier time to fly, and a sightseeing flight at sunset is a different experience from the same flight at midday;

– Twin-engine machines are the usual choice over water. Book the helicopter with the jet for show weeks and the New Year, or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.

The machines on offer are the Airbus H125 and H130 for sightseeing and short transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and larger helicopters for bigger parties. Routes and prices are quoted for the specific site, so tell us where you want to land when you ask.

Dubai charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

WINTER BREAK · THE CABIN CHOSE ITSELF

A family of eight and a fortnight of luggage

Farnborough - Dubai, Gulfstream G450, about 7 h 15 min · 8 pax

Two couples and four children, flying out in the school holidays. The luggage list was longer than the passenger list, and a Praetor would have carried it only just. The G450 had room for the children to sleep, a late-afternoon departure put them on the ground in the evening, and the car was at the aircraft door at the private terminal.

TRADE SHOW · FIXED DATES

A delegation for the October technology week

London Luton - Dubai, Falcon 900LX, about 7 h 15 min · 9 pax

The dates were set by the show and not by the client. Nine people, demo equipment in the hold and a request for a vehicle at the steps. The booking went in eight weeks ahead, the handler arranged the slot and the passport check at the terminal, and the aircraft arrived on time and left on time.

RACING WEEKEND · THE SLOT BOOKED FIRST

Owners and guests for the Dubai World Cup

Biggin Hill - Dubai, Praetor 600, about 7 h 10 min · 7 pax

A group of racehorse owners going for the big meeting in March. The aircraft was the scarce item, not the price, so we secured it before the guest list was final and adjusted the seat count later. The return was set for the Monday.

ONWARD LEG · THE SAME CREW

From Dubai to the Maldives for the second week

Dubai - Male, Praetor 600, about 4 h 10 min · 6 pax

A client who had flown out from Britain for a week of meetings and wanted to carry on to the islands with his family. We kept the original crew and aircraft, so the second sector was priced as a continuation and not as a new charter, and the family joined at Dubai while the business party went home on a scheduled flight.

PETS · PAPERWORK FIRST

Two adults and a dog going home

Dubai - Southampton, Falcon 900LX, about 7 h 20 min · 2 pax + dog

The return to Britain needed a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 hours and 5 days before landing, the microchip and rabies record, and the correct certificate. We booked the vet appointment in Dubai for the morning before departure and confirmed the arrival route for the animal before the aircraft was released.

EMPTY LEG · A SUNDAY NIGHT HOME

A jet already going your way

Dubai - London Luton, Gulfstream G450 empty leg, about 7 h 30 min · 5 pax

The aircraft had flown a party out for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday night departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Dubai

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Dubai?

About 7 hours 10 minutes from Biggin Hill or Stansted in a Praetor 600, covering roughly 3,070 nautical miles, and about 6 hours 35 minutes in a Global 6000. From Farnborough, Luton or Southampton allow about 7 hours 15 minutes, from Birmingham or Manchester about 7 hours 20 to 25 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about 7 hours 35 to 40 minutes. Dubai is four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three in summer, so a morning departure lands in the evening local time.

2How much does a private jet to Dubai cost?

From about £48,700 one way on a Praetor 600 out of London Stansted, and £48,750 from Biggin Hill. The same aircraft from the Midlands and the north-west costs £49,950 to £50,350, and from Scotland allow £51,400 to £51,950. A larger cabin costs more: a Falcon 900LX from Luton is £77,900 and a Global 6000 from Biggin Hill £84,600. Trade-show weeks, the racing weekend and the winter holidays price above these figures.

3Which Dubai airport should a private jet use?

Dubai International (DXB / OMDB) is about 4 km from the centre, but slots are required, handling is mandatory and parking is restricted. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), about 38 km south-west, has 24-hour operation, no curfew and several FBOs, and it is where large cabins and long stays usually go. Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Al Bateen are the alternatives in the next emirates.

4When should I book a private jet to Dubai?

In the summer months a day or two is usually enough. For GITEX in October, the airshow month, the racing weekend in March and the winter school holidays, allow six to eight weeks. The large-cabin aircraft that can fly the sector without a stop are limited in number, and a late booking tends to pay more for one positioned from Europe.

5Can a light or midsize jet fly to Dubai from the UK?

Not without a fuel stop. At roughly 3,070 to 3,280 nautical miles from Britain the sector is beyond a light jet and a midsize cabin, so we quote the Embraer Praetor 600 as the entry point, and large-cabin and ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Challenger 605, Falcon 900LX, G450 and Global 6000 for larger parties. A stop is possible and adds an hour or more, and we price both versions when the budget is the deciding point.

6Can I take my dog to Dubai on a private jet?

Possibly, and it needs planning. The UAE asks for an import permit, an ISO microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an export health certificate, and its rules commonly treat arriving pets as cargo, so cabin carriage on a private jet is agreed with the authority first. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 hours and 5 days before arrival.
