Private jet charter in Thessaloniki

Three hours out of a London airfield puts a light jet over the Thermaic Gulf, which makes Thessaloniki the shortest way from Britain into Macedonia, Chalkidiki and the foot of Mount Olympus. Private Jets UK builds each charter around the airport, the handler and the road at the far end, and not only around the flight. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Thessaloniki Makedonia is a shared civil and military field about 13 km south-east of the centre, run by Fraport Greece, with a main runway of 3,440 m, so no jet we charter is limited by length. What decides the trip is the handler, the summer slot and where in the region you actually sleep: Chalkidiki is an hour or more by road, Olympus is further still, and the Aegean coast at Kavala has an airport of its own.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Thessaloniki depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Phenom 300E and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Thessaloniki?

Three hours from Biggin Hill, a little over three and a half from Glasgow, and two hours to add to the clock on arrival, because Greece keeps Eastern European time and stays two hours ahead of Britain all year. At 1,195 to 1,473 nautical miles this is an easy sector for a light jet with a short passenger list, and a midsize cabin is the better answer from six people upwards. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at eight in the morning and you are on the ground in Thessaloniki at about one in the afternoon local time. The airport lies about 13 km from the centre, so a client who left a London office at half past seven can be at a late lunch by the waterfront the same day. Add the drive to the British airfield and the quick processing at both ends and the journey from central London comes to roughly five hours, against a long day of two flights and a connection by scheduled service.

Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route

– Up to four or five people with modest bags, a light jet flies London to Thessaloniki nonstop in about three hours, and the saving is real. With six or more, golf bags or a strong headwind it can need a fuel stop, which adds an hour and a landing fee. We ask for the passenger and bag count before quoting a light jet;

– For most families and small groups we quote a midsize cabin next to it. A Citation XLS+ or Latitude carries a villa week of luggage in a proper hold, and the extra space is felt most on the way home;

– Large aircraft make sense for ten or more, for a party that wants the same jet for the whole stay, or when Thessaloniki is the first leg of something longer. Dubai is about 1,932 nautical miles from Thessaloniki, which a Global 6000 flies without a stop.

Northern Greece from the air: when a short hop beats the road

Kavala is 82 nautical miles from Thessaloniki, about 150 km in a straight line, and the scheduled coach takes around two and a half hours; a PC-12 covers the distance in about 40 minutes, though Kavala airport itself lies some 30 km from the town at Chrysoupoli. Skiathos (88 nm) is the better example, because the island is a long drive and a ferry away. Its airport is 4.5 km from Skiathos Town and its runway is 1,628 m, short and narrow, so we check the jet type with the operator. Skopelos has no airport at all: from Skiathos a ferry takes about 20 to 30 minutes to Glossa or Loutraki and an hour or so to Skopelos Town, and a helicopter turns that into minutes.

Before you accept a Greek quote

– Which airport, and who handles it. Several agents work at Thessaloniki, and a quote that does not name the handler is one that will change;

– How the permission is sequenced. At the airports Fraport Greece runs, the parking permission and the slot must carry exactly the same times, and a request is not processed earlier than 14 days before the flight;

– What happens if the plan moves. The flight plan must stay within 15 minutes of the confirmed slot or it can be suspended, and an unused slot has to be cancelled in advance, so a change of date is a call to us and not to the pilot.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h
Medium-sized jet (Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP)£3,000 - 3,700/h
Large medium-class jet (Challenger 300)£4,600 - 5,500/h
Large jet (Legacy 600)£4,900 - 5,800/h
Long-haul jet (Global 5000, G550, Falcon 7X)£5,800 - 8,800/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Thessaloniki:

Light jets, for a short passenger list

At about three hours the light class is comfortable for four or five people with modest bags. The broker needs to see the load first, because golf bags and a headwind are what push a trip up a class.

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. Thessaloniki is a long way from the busiest business jet bases of Western Europe but close to the Balkan and Turkish fleets, so for a booking in the middle of summer the aircraft often positions from Athens, Italy or Turkey. That positioning is where the better price, or the worse one, comes from, and it is the first thing we look at.

Business aviation airports in Thessaloniki

One airport does nearly all of the work. Two others matter for specific parts of the region, and Chalkidiki, the most popular destination of all, has no airfield, so it helps to know the picture before a quote arrives.

Airport What it gives you
Thessaloniki, Makedonia
SKG / LGTS
The answer for almost every trip. About 13 km south-east of the city centre at Thermi, run by Fraport Greece, with a main runway 10/28 of 3,440 m, extended into the sea, and a second runway 16/34 of 2,424 m. It is a joint civil and military airfield with an apron that can be tight, listed as open round the clock, with customs and immigration on the airport and handling by agents that include Signature Aviation and Universal Aviation Greece. Thessaloniki is also on the Greek list of authorised entry points for pets coming from outside the EU
Kavala, Alexander the Great
KVA / LGKV
The airport for the Aegean coast to the east: Kavala, Thassos and the ferry ports. One runway, 05/23, of 3,000 m, about 30 km from Kavala at Chrysoupoli, in the same Fraport Greece group as Thessaloniki. Airport databases tag it with customs, but its hours and handler are not published widely, so we confirm both before quoting. By road from Thessaloniki the scheduled coach needs around two and a half hours
Skiathos, Alexandros Papadiamantis
JSI / LGSK
The gateway to the Sporades, about 4.5 km from Skiathos Town. One asphalt runway, 01/19, of 1,628 m, lengthened at the north end and described as short and narrow, though it is rated for aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 757-200. Another Fraport Greece airport. A turboprop or a light or midsize jet is the natural choice, and each type is checked with the operator. Skopelos has no airport, so Skiathos is its nearest
Chalkidiki, Mount Olympus and Vergina None of them has an airfield for jets, and Thessaloniki is the airport for all three. Kassandra and Sithonia are an hour or more by road, Litochoro below Mount Olympus is about 90 km and Vergina about 80 km. A helicopter transfer from the airport to a hotel or villa is the way to save the road, once the landing site is agreed

Four points settle most Thessaloniki arrivals:

Choose the handler

Several agents work at Thessaloniki, and Signature Aviation and Universal Aviation Greece both list an office in the terminal building. Customs and immigration are on the airport, and the agent arranges the clearance. Prices and service differ, so we ask the operator which handler it prefers and name it in the quote.

Hours, slots and parking

The airport is listed as open round the clock. Fraport Greece issues the parking permission, and where a date is slot-controlled the slot times must match the permission exactly and the flight plan must stay within 15 minutes of the slot. The apron is shared with the air force and can be tight, so a long stay is agreed in advance.

Border and passport

Greece is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border on arrival at the airport. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years ago and valid for three months beyond the planned departure. A first-time visitor may be asked for a photograph and fingerprints at the EU entry system.

Car and the road north and south

Chalkidiki is not close. Sani Resort quotes about 50 minutes from the airport, a Kassandra resort on its own site about an hour and a quarter, and Porto Carras on Sithonia a little over two hours. Litochoro, the town below Mount Olympus, is about 90 km away. Give us the hotel as well as the flight, because the right airport may not be the nearest one.

business aviation

Border, passport and the permit for a British aircraft

The border is dealt with once, at the first landing. Thessaloniki is an international airport, you arrive from outside Schengen, and from that moment a flight on to Skiathos, Athens or an island is a domestic leg with no second passport control. A British-registered aircraft is a third-country operator in Greece, and such operators are reported to need a permit from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority for charter flights, typically requested at least five working days ahead. Published guidance also says a non-EU operator may fly between Britain and Greece but not carry passengers between two Greek airports, so London to Thessaloniki and on to Skiathos on the same British aircraft may not be possible, and we confirm for your flight whether a Greek-licensed aircraft is needed for the domestic leg.

For the flight home, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure, and any passenger who needs an Electronic Travel Authorisation for the UK must hold it before boarding. British and Irish citizens are exempt. The agent who arranged the arrival files the paperwork for the departure.

From the apron to the White Tower and the Thermaic Gulf

Thessaloniki is a working port and a university city, not a resort. It was founded by Cassander in 315 BC, it is the second-largest city in Greece with about 320,000 residents in the municipality and over a million in the wider area, and the White Tower on the waterfront is its best-known landmark. Its Paleochristian and Byzantine monuments are on the UNESCO list, Aristotle University is the largest in Greece and the Balkans, and July highs average about 32 degrees Celsius. The summer places are elsewhere: Chalkidiki to the south-east, with its three peninsulas of Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos, and the distances that matter run out of the city in every direction. Mount Athos, the monastic state on the third peninsula, admits male visitors only and with a special permit, the diamonitirion, and visitors cross by boat from Ouranoupoli.

Flying to Greece with a dog or a cat

Greece follows the standard EU pet rules, and an animal in the cabin of a private jet has a far kinder journey than one in the hold of an airliner. What matters is the order of the paperwork, because the certificate has a ten-day life from the day it is issued and the return rules to Britain have their own clock.

private flight with animals

What the rules ask for:

  • An ISO microchip, fitted before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination and not after it;
  • A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before travel;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued for each trip and valid for ten days for entry into the EU. A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales cannot be used to enter the EU;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, presented at an authorised point of entry. Thessaloniki international airport is on the Greek list of border inspection posts;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.

What catches owners out on the northern Greece run

– The point of entry. Kavala and Skiathos do not appear on the lists we have seen of Greek entry points for animals from outside the EU, so the plan for a dog is a first landing at Thessaloniki and a short onward flight, which is a domestic leg. We confirm in writing before the booking whether the animal may arrive at the smaller airport;

– The vet at the end. Britain asks for the tapeworm treatment on the way home, so it is an appointment you book in Thessaloniki or Chalkidiki towards the end of the stay, and a flight that moves by a day can move the 24 to 120 hour window out of reach;

– Everything else that has to accept the dog. A villa, a boat to Thassos or Skopelos and a helicopter each set their own rules, and a helicopter operator will want the animal counted in the payload. Settle all of them before the quote.

Cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Thessaloniki calendar: a beach summer and an autumn of fairs

Northern Greece has two seasons that matter to a charter. One is the beach summer on Chalkidiki and the Sporades, when the thermometer sits around 32 degrees in July. The other is the city calendar from September to November, when the fair, the saint's day and the film festival fill hotels and the apron. Winter is quiet, so the real question is which week, not which aircraft.

December to February
The quiet months. The upper slopes of Mount Olympus stay under snow for about nine months from September to May, so the mountain is a matter for guides and refuges, not for a day trip. Short bookings, easy slots, and a charter can often be arranged within a few days
Spring, Orthodox Easter
Easter follows the Orthodox calendar, often a week or more after the Western date. Families come for the villages and the church services, parties are small and demand rises sharply for a few days
April
The Alexander the Great marathon runs from Pella to Thessaloniki, with 5 km and 10 km races on the same day. A local sporting weekend rather than a charter driver, but hotels are full
June to early September
The Chalkidiki beach season, with Kassandra and Sithonia at their busiest in July and August, and Skiathos filling with island visitors. Aircraft for Greece are in short supply on the same dates, and slots and parking at the Fraport Greece airports tighten
Mid-August
The 15 August Dormition holiday is the heart of the Greek summer break. Anyone who wants a particular day should have the permission and the slot requested well ahead
Early to mid September
The Thessaloniki International Fair at the HELEXPO grounds, held over about nine days in early to mid September and traditionally opened by the Prime Minister with a speech on the government's policies. The biggest business week in the city, and the one in which rooms and aircraft are hardest to find
October
The Dimitria festival runs through most of the month, with concerts at the Megaron and the Rotunda. The patron saint, Saint Demetrius, is celebrated on 26 October, Ohi Day follows on the 28th with a military parade, and a night half marathon is held in October
Late October to November
The Thessaloniki International Film Festival, usually over about ten days from late October into November, in four theatres in two restored port warehouses. Directors, producers and their guests arrive by charter for a few days at a time

Why the Fair week and August cost more

Partly the flying, and mostly the system around it. The aircraft that serve Greece in peak weeks come from Athens, Italy and Turkey rather than waiting at the airport, the Fraport Greece airports ask for a parking permission and a matching slot, and the apron at Thessaloniki is shared with the air force. A booking made two or three weeks ahead of the Fair or the 15 August holiday can usually still be done, but it costs more and may mean a different aircraft. The same trip booked six weeks earlier is simpler, and outside the peaks a Thessaloniki charter can often be arranged within a few days.

Ways to bring the Thessaloniki price down

  • Move the dates by a week where you can. Late May, June and the second half of September carry less pressure on slots and aircraft than the weeks around 15 August and the Fair;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Athens, Sofia or Istanbul needs less positioning than one flown out from Britain, and an aircraft registered in the EU also avoids the Greek permit step that a British one needs;
  • Take the midsize unless the party is large. A Citation XLS+ or Latitude usually prices well below a heavy jet and has the range and hold this trip needs, and the money saved buys the transfer and the table.

Types of flights

Thessaloniki produces a broader mix than a beach island: part holiday, part commerce and part pilgrimage, with the Balkans on the doorstep. The region is large, and it is the hotel that decides the airport.

  • Villa and resort weeks on Kassandra and Sithonia, flown to Thessaloniki and finished by road or helicopter;
  • Business trips for the Fair, the port, the university and the industrial belt, usually a day or two on the ground;
  • Cultural trips to Pella, Vergina and the Byzantine monuments of the city, often a day out by car from a Thessaloniki hotel;
  • Kavala and Thassos, flown to Kavala airport and not to Thessaloniki;
  • Skiathos and the Sporades by turboprop, with Skopelos by sea or helicopter;
  • Mount Athos pilgrimages for male visitors, with a boat from Ouranoupoli;
  • Balkan business hops to Skopje, Sofia, Tirana, Belgrade and Istanbul, often with Thessaloniki as the first or the last stop.

The Balkan hops deserve a closer look. Skopje is 110 nautical miles from Thessaloniki, Sofia 138 and Tirana 163, each about 35 to 45 minutes in a light jet, and Belgrade 295 is about an hour. Bulgaria is a full member of Schengen, so Sofia is a flight inside the area, while North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia are not, and passports are checked on arrival there and again on the way back into Greece. Each country also has its own permission rules for a British-registered aircraft. We quote the whole loop as one booking and arrange the paperwork for each border, because the same aircraft and crew staying with you costs less than three separate charters.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Thessaloniki route they come from the one-way rhythm of the holiday season and of the fairs and festivals, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Thessaloniki empty legs come from

– Summer one-way trips. When a party flies out to Chalkidiki for a week, the aircraft often comes home empty on the Saturday or Sunday, and brokers report that empty legs are often available in summer and the shoulder months;

– Fair and festival weeks. Aircraft bring delegations in for the Fair in September or the film festival in the autumn and return a few days later, leaving outbound legs for whoever is flying home;

– Balkan rotation. Operators moving aircraft between Athens, Sofia, Istanbul and Thessaloniki leave short, cheap legs in both directions.

Because northern Greece is away from the main business jet bases, a client who can name a few days has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Thessaloniki match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In northern Greece a helicopter is a tool for the last stretch, not for the city. Thessaloniki is small enough to cross by car, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the Chalkidiki resorts and the sea crossings to the Sporades. The times below are estimates and depend on the landing site and the wind. Helicopters are also exempt from the airport slot process, which makes them the flexible half of a busy-day plan.

Thessaloniki airport to a Kassandra resort

against an hour and a quarter by road
about 30 minutes
Skiathos airport to Skopelos Town

against a ferry crossing of an hour or so from Skiathos port
about 15 minutes
Thessaloniki to Skiathos

for a client who wants to arrive on the island by helicopter and not by turboprop
about 55 minutes

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A hotel pad, a marina or a private villa lawn has to be confirmed with the owner and the operator before we quote, not on the day;

– Wind sets the schedule. Strong summer winds over the Aegean can delay a sea crossing on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a crossing needs a fallback, in practice the ferry;

– For the Fair, mid-August and Easter, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H130 and H135 for hotel and scenic transfers, the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted and the AgustaWestland AW139 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Thessaloniki charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

VILLA WEEK · CHALKIDIKI

Seven people and a week on Kassandra

Biggin Hill - Thessaloniki and return, Citation XLS+, about 3 h 10 min each way · 7 pax

The party wanted a resort on the Kassandra coast and the luggage of a family that stays seven nights, golf clubs included. A light jet would have struggled with the bags, so the quote started at midsize. The transfer from the airport was a drive of about an hour and a quarter, and a helicopter was priced as an alternative for the way back to the airport.

SHORT STAY · A DOG ON BOARD

A long weekend with a spaniel

Farnborough - Thessaloniki and return, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 05 min each way · 3 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and Thessaloniki is on the Greek list of entry points for animals, so the dog could land there. The vet appointment for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. The hotel accepted the dog, and everything was settled in a single exchange of messages.

EAST COAST · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON

A house on Thassos

London City - Kavala, Citation CJ3+, about 3 h 25 min · 4 pax

They asked for Thessaloniki because it is the name everyone knows. The house was on Thassos, the Kavala coast is about two and a half hours from Thessaloniki by coach, and Kavala has its own airport with a 3,000 m runway. We confirmed the handler and the opening hours first, and the last stretch to the ferry came down from a long drive to a short one.

FAIR WEEK · A DELEGATION

Five people for two days in September

London Luton - Thessaloniki and return, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 05 min each way · 5 pax

The date fell in the Fair week, the busiest of the autumn. The parking permission and the slot request went in with the first message, the times were identical on both, and the handler was named in the quote. The aircraft stayed on the airport for the two days, which the apron allowed on that occasion, and the delegation was in its pavilion by early afternoon.

SPORADES · A TURBOPROP

Skiathos with Skopelos by sea

Thessaloniki - Skiathos and return, Pilatus PC-12, about 40 minutes each way · 6 pax

The party flew from Thessaloniki after a business meeting. The PC-12 landed on the 1,628 m runway at Skiathos, a taxi took them to the port in minutes and a private boat covered the crossing to Skopelos. The aircraft went back to Thessaloniki empty and returned for the party, which cost less than waiting on a small apron in the high season.

EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING

A jet already going your way

Thessaloniki - London Luton, Citation Latitude empty leg, about 3 h 10 min · 3 pax

The aircraft had brought a family out for the week and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Thessaloniki

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Thessaloniki?

About 3 hours from Biggin Hill in a Phenom 300E, covering roughly 1,195 nautical miles, and a little over 3 hours from Farnborough or Luton. From Birmingham or Bristol allow around 3 hours 20 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about 3 hours 35 minutes. Greece is two hours ahead of Britain all year, so a departure at eight in the morning lands at about one in the afternoon local time.

2How much does a private jet to Thessaloniki cost?

From about £15,650 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill with up to five on board, and £15,950 from Farnborough. A midsize Citation XLS+ with seven passengers runs £20,000 to £20,850 from the south and the Midlands, a Latitude from Manchester £26,300, and from Scotland allow £28,450 to £29,000. July, August, the Fair week in September and Orthodox Easter tend to price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Chalkidiki and northern Greece?

Thessaloniki Makedonia (SKG / LGTS) for most trips: it has a main runway of 3,440 m, customs and immigration, and sits about 13 km from the city. It also serves Chalkidiki, Mount Olympus and Vergina, none of which has an airfield of its own. Kavala (KVA / LGKV) is the better choice for Kavala and Thassos, and Skiathos (JSI / LGSK) for the Sporades, but Skiathos has a 1,628 m runway and each jet type is checked with the operator.

4When should I book a private jet to Thessaloniki?

In the quiet months a few days is normally enough. For July and August, the Thessaloniki International Fair in early September and Orthodox Easter allow at least two to three weeks, because Fraport Greece airports require a parking permission and, where the date is coordinated, a slot with matching times. A British-registered aircraft is also reported to need a Greek permit, typically requested at least five working days ahead.

5How far is Chalkidiki, Mount Olympus or Vergina from Thessaloniki airport?

Sani Resort quotes about 50 minutes by road, and a resort in western Kassandra about 100 km and an hour and a quarter. Porto Carras on Sithonia is some 120 km from the city and a little over two hours. Litochoro, the gateway to Mount Olympus, is about 90 km away and Vergina about 80 km, roughly an hour and ten minutes. A helicopter shortens the Chalkidiki leg when a hotel or villa has a landing site.

6Can I take my dog to Greece on a private jet?

Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you. You need a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days before travel, and an Animal Health Certificate issued within ten days of entering the EU. Thessaloniki airport is on the Greek list of authorised entry points for animals from outside the EU. For the return, a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain.
