Gulfstream jets in business aviation

Gulfstream is a family of business jets, manufactured by the American company “Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation”, included in the aerospace corporation “General Dynamics” (GD). In the late 1950s, the company’s designers created Grumman Gulfstream I, the first jet designed as a dedicated corporate aircraft. This turboprop monoplane could seat 8-12 passengers, had a maximum speed of 560 km/h and a range of 3.540 km. In the late 1980s, “Sukhoi” had announced a partnership with “General Dynamics” to develop a supersonic business jet design. However, this project was cancelled.

However, American aircraft designers didn’t abandon this idea. In collaboration with NASA specialists, “Gulfstream” developed a conceptual design of Gulfstream X-54, a supersonic jet with a cruising speed of 1.500 km/h and a range of 11.000 km.

At the time, the company’s lineup includes 7 types of business jets. The aircraft plant and headquarters of “Gulfstream Aerospace” are located in Savannah, Georgia (USA).

Stages of flight preparation

A business jet flight is carefully prepared. The whole organization of the flight consists of several stages:

1. Planning. At this stage, the request received from the customer is processed, the most suitable aircraft are selected, legal issues and flight safety issues are resolved;
2. A contract is concluded. The contract specifies the obligations of the parties, the route schedule, departure dates, and cost. The agreement is drawn up in two copies, the first remains with the air broker, the other is for the client. The payment is possible in any way that suits the customer;
3. Ensuring the flight. This is one of the most important stages of flight organization. The air broker coordinates the receipt of slots, submits requests to the aviation services for departure and landing, looks for suitable VIP terminals;
4. Flying in ideal conditions. After signing the contract, passengers of charter flights are only required to arrive at the airport on time, board, and spend time in the sky in a pleasant atmosphere.

If necessary, air brokers will arrange a transfer from the arrival airport, book a hotel or find the best accommodation in the private sector.

The first model of G280 took its maiden flight in December 2009. It can fly from London to New York or Singapore to Dubai. The jet is powered by two Honeywell HTF7250G turbofan engines.

115 models of G280 have been built to date. G280 was formally handed over to the Philippine Air Force in September 2020. The jet has been configured as a command and control aircraft for the Philippine Air Force.

Gulfstream G550

An intercontinental jet G550 is one of the most popular jets in the Gulfstream’s lineup. It has been serially produced since 1998. By the middle of 2020, about 600 models of this business jet have been built.

Gulfstream’s flagship new business jet, the G700, took its first flight in February 2021. The spacious cabin is divided into separate functional areas, including bedroom, nursery, shower, master suite, kitchen, bar counter, as well as spaces to entertain or to conduct business presentations. How to pay for a flight and refund money for a failed flight

Payment for the aircraft lease is carried out after the signing of the contract. You can deposit cash or make a wire transfer. In some situations, an invoice is more convenient, but in any case, our company allows the client to choose the payment method that is more profitable for him/her.

If the scheduled flight is canceled at the client’s request, the funds won’t be returned in full. This is quite understandable since certain costs for the organization of the flight were already on the part of the air broker. However, our company tries to make sure that the client loses as little as possible. In those situations, when the lease is canceled due to our fault, which fortunately happens extremely rarely, the funds are returned in full.
