Private jet charter to Denmark

Private Jets UK flies clients from Britain into Denmark, where the first useful question is rarely Copenhagen: Jutland sits a hundred nautical miles closer to us than the capital does. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we put on Danish routes sit mostly at Farnborough, Luton and Stansted, with several based at Copenhagen and Billund that remove the positioning leg on a short-notice booking or an onward Nordic leg.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Denmark depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated based on the following data: departure from London Stansted Airport, a Citation CJ3+, two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Denmark?

Denmark is a short North Sea crossing and the spread across the country is narrow. These are the times from London, gate to gate:

London to Billund
409 nautical miles, the closest Danish airport to Britain
about 1 h 35 min
London to Odense
437 nautical miles to the island of Funen
about 1 h 40 min
London to Aarhus or Aalborg
469 and 474 nautical miles into northern Jutland
about 1 h 45 min
London to Copenhagen
513 nautical miles to Kastrup, or 496 to Roskilde
about 1 h 45 min
London to Bornholm
572 nautical miles to the Baltic island, the furthest Danish point we fly
about 1 h 55 min
Newcastle or Norwich to Denmark
the shortest crossings, and the reason our eastern departures price lower
1 h 15 to 1 h 30 min

The east of England is the short way across

Norwich is 332 nautical miles from Billund and Luton is 409, which on a sector this length is a meaningful difference rather than a rounding error. From Glasgow or Belfast add roughly half an hour to everything above. It is one of the few European countries where departing from the east of England rather than London genuinely changes the quote, and worth asking about if the party is not tied to a London field.

The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Two things worth knowing about these figures

– Billund sits 409 nautical miles from Luton against 513 to Copenhagen, so the Jutland lines run a class lighter and a good deal cheaper for what is often the same meeting;

– This is business flying rather than holiday flying. The pricing holds steady across the year, the traffic is weekday, and the summer peak that shapes the Mediterranean routes barely registers here.

Private jet flights within Denmark and on into Scandinavia

Denmark is small enough that internal flying is a narrow business, and most of what we quote from Copenhagen goes onward rather than inward. These are the sectors we handle most often:

Route Aircraft Flight time Price, one way

about 45 min from 5,900 EUR
Copenhagen - Oslo or Stockholm
279 to 282 nm
Citation CJ4 Gen2
up to 8
about 1 h from 8,400 EUR

Two things worth knowing about these sectors

– Nothing inside Denmark runs past forty-five minutes and the road network is good, so the internal legs we do fly are usually a connection onto something else rather than the journey itself;

– The onward Nordic legs are the busier half. Oslo and Stockholm are an hour, Gothenburg forty-five minutes, and those movements feed the empty legs back towards Britain.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

  • Large jet (similar to Legacy 600) - from 5800 to 6800 EUR per flight hour;
  • Business liners - from 12100 EUR per flight hour;
  • Light jet - from 2500 to 3500 EUR per flight hour;
  • Long-haul jet (similar to Global 5000, Gulfstream G550, Falcon 7X, etc.) - from 6800 to 10400 EUR per flight hour;
  • Medium-sized jet (identical to Cessna Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP, etc.) - from 3500 to 4400 EUR per flight hour;
  • Turboprops - from 1000 EUR per flight hour.
  • Large medium-class jet (similar to Challenger 300, etc.) - from 5400 to 6500 EUR per flight hour;
  • Small jet, from 2000 to 2900 EUR per flight hour;

Business aviation airports in Denmark

Denmark has a short list of fields for private jet work and they are all easy to use, which is not something we can say about most countries. These are the ones our Danish private jet bookings actually use:

Airport Ground How it operates
Copenhagen Kastrup
CPH / EKCH
8 km to the centre The busiest airport in the Nordics and the closest field to central Copenhagen. Three runways, the longest 3,600 metres, taking anything flying up to a VIP airliner. Slot coordinated, and the busier for it
Roskilde
RKE / EKRK
29 km to the centre The dedicated business aviation field for the capital, run by the same authority as Kastrup and handling around sixty thousand movements a year, almost all of them general aviation. Further out, quicker on the ground
Billund
BLL / EKBI
2 km to Legoland, 30 to Vejle The Jutland gateway and the closest Danish field to Britain. Billund serves the corporate belt of central Jutland and Legoland alike, and it is the second busiest airport in the country
Aarhus
AAR / EKAH
40 km to the centre The second city and the university and shipping business behind it. Aarhus takes midsize types comfortably
Aalborg
AAL / EKYT
7 km to the centre The north of Jutland, the offshore wind cluster and the naval base. Aalborg is the practical arrival for the whole northern peninsula
Odense
ODE / EKOD
11 km to the centre Odense and the island of Funen, midway between the capital and Jutland. Light aircraft and turboprops
Esbjerg
EBJ / EKEB
9 km to the centre The North Sea energy port and the helicopter base for the offshore wind farms, which is most of the traffic here
Sonderborg and Bornholm
SGD and RNN
the far south and the Baltic Sonderborg for the German border region, Bornholm for the island in the Baltic that is closer to Sweden than to Denmark

Kastrup or Roskilde, and why the nearer one is not always the quicker one

Copenhagen reverses the usual arrangement. In most capitals the dedicated business aviation field is the closer one; here Kastrup sits eight kilometres from the centre and Roskilde twenty-nine, so the big airport wins on distance. What Roskilde wins on is everything after landing. It exists for business aviation, it handles a fraction of the movements, and a departure slot there is a formality rather than a negotiation. Our rule is straightforward: for a single meeting in the city centre, Kastrup and the twenty minute drive; for a group, a tight turnaround, or a departure in the Friday evening crush, Roskilde and the extra twenty minutes of road.

BorderDenmark is in the EU and Schengen, so an arrival from Britain clears customs but not passports
CurrencyThe krone rather than the euro, though fuel and handling are usually invoiced in euros
SlotsRequired at Kastrup, and the reason Roskilde exists
FogKastrup holds a CAT III approach and rarely closes for weather
Operating hoursKastrup around the clock, the regional fields in daylight and by arrangement
Ground timeForty-five minutes from wheels down to a car at any Danish field is realistic

Which airport for which part of Denmark

Denmark splits between the capital on the eastern islands and the Jutland peninsula in the west, and the useful field follows from which side of that divide the meeting sits on. These are the pairings behind most of our bookings here:

Central Copenhagen
twenty minutes to most of the city, and the shortest airport transfer of any capital we serve
Kastrup, 8 km
The corporate belt of Jutland
the toy, textile and engineering companies that make Jutland the industrial half of the country
Billund, 30 km to Vejle
The offshore wind industry
the North Sea ports, where the helicopter does as much work as the aircraft
Esbjerg or Aalborg
The Oresund region and Malmo
southern Sweden runs on the Danish airport, and the border crossing is a road toll rather than a formality
Kastrup, 30 km over the bridge
Onward to Norway and Sweden
Oslo and Stockholm are an hour, which is why so many Nordic itineraries start here
Copenhagen as the hub

The Kingdom of Denmark is larger than the map suggests

Denmark itself is a small country, but the Kingdom includes two self-governing territories in the North Atlantic: the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Both are outside the European Union despite the Danish connection, both have their own entry rules, and both are proper long-range flying rather than an extension of a Copenhagen trip. Clients occasionally assume a Danish booking covers them. It does not, and each has its own page on this site because the planning is genuinely different.

Three things that shape a Danish booking

– Most of it is a day return, out in the morning and back the same evening, which puts the pressure on the departure slot rather than the arrival;

– Tell us the postcode rather than the city. A surprising number of Danish meetings turn out to be nearer Billund than the capital, and we would rather find that out before quoting than after;

– Winter daylight runs to seven hours in Copenhagen and the regional fields work in daylight, so a December afternoon departure from Britain wants checking rather than assuming.

Flying to Denmark with a dog or a cat

Denmark is one of the simplest European countries for an animal, and a private jet there is short enough that most of them barely register the journey. The paperwork is the standard European set.

The one fact to read before you book

Denmark is a listed country, so coming home needs no rabies blood test and no waiting period. An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian in Britain, dated within ten days of travel, covers the outbound leg and then stays valid for return journeys for six months. Dogs need a tapeworm treatment on the way back, given by a Danish vet between one and five days before departure. Danish practices are efficient and used to the paperwork, but on a two-night business trip the window is tight enough that we book the appointment alongside the flight rather than leaving it to the hotel concierge.

  • An ISO-standard microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination rather than after;
  • Rabies vaccination at least 21 days old on the day you land, given when the animal was at least 12 weeks;
  • An Animal Health Certificate dated no more than ten days before travel;
  • Tapeworm treatment for dogs on the homeward leg only;
  • Up to five animals per booking without commercial documentation.

Cats need the same list without the worming. One point specific to Denmark: certain breeds are restricted under Danish law and the list is enforced at the border rather than overlooked, so if your dog is of a type that has ever caused a question elsewhere, tell us before we book rather than at the aircraft. Beyond that there is no hold and no weight limit, so a large dog travels exactly as a small one does.

Is there a vet at the Danish airports?
practices near Copenhagen, Billund and Aarhus deal with charter clients regularly, and we book the return appointment with the flight
not on the field
Flight time from London
short enough that most animals settle only once and then stay settled
1 h 35 to 1 h 45
Breed restrictions
Denmark maintains a restricted list and applies it, unlike several of its neighbours
worth checking first
Certificate validity
which suits the client who travels to the same office every few weeks
six months of return trips

Requirements for birds, rabbits and the less usual species, along with the countries where the timeline runs to months, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Types of flights

Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:

  1. private flights;
  2. corporate flights;
  3. business class flights;
  4. concert tours;
  5. medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
  6. tourist flights for large and small groups;
  7. sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
  8. combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
  9. exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
  10. cargo flights, etc.

A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs

Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Denmark). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.

It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.

– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Challenger 605 out of Glasgow at 7,600 EUR carrying twelve works out at a little over six hundred a head;

– Set each line beside the same class in the tables above. A Citation XLS+ home from Copenhagen at 5,200 EUR against 12,400 for a fresh charter out of Stansted is the saving in plain terms;

– Danish legs come up midweek rather than at weekends, because the traffic that creates them is corporate. A client who can move a meeting by a day sees considerably more of them.

Jet Sharing

Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.

We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1400 to 7100 euros (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.

Main advantages of this service:

  • All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
  • You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
  • No baggage restrictions;
  • Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
  • Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.

Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

Helicopter charter

Denmark is flat, small and well connected by road, so alongside the private jet the helicopter here earns its place differently from the Alps or the Highlands. It is bought for the schedule rather than for the terrain:

Kastrup to central Copenhagen
used when the schedule is tight rather than when the road is slow, which it seldom is here
about 10 minutes
Copenhagen to the north Zealand coast
the country houses and the Danish Riviera along the Oresund shore
about 20 minutes
Copenhagen to Malmo and southern Sweden
across the strait without joining the bridge traffic
about 20 minutes
Esbjerg offshore
the North Sea wind farms, which is a specialist trade on its own aircraft
30 minutes and up
Copenhagen to Bornholm
the Baltic island, and the one Danish rotary leg that genuinely replaces a ferry
about 45 minutes

The machines that work these routes

– Airbus H125 and Bell 407, the light singles behind most corporate and coastal transfers;

– Airbus H145 and similar twins, which Danish operators favour because so much of the flying crosses water;

– Airbus H130 for a party of six where the leg runs to half an hour or more.

Two points on Danish rotary legs

– Wind rather than cloud is the constraint here, and the Baltic and North Sea crossings feel it first while the mainland legs carry on;

– Landing sites away from an airfield need permission and Danish procedure is thorough rather than quick, so a country house or a works site wants arranging days ahead.

What our clients say about flying to Denmark

A few words from people who have made these trips with us. First names only, and the wording is theirs.

JUTLAND

“Billund, not Copenhagen, and it was cheaper”

Stansted to Billund · Citation CJ3+ · Gareth M.

“I spoke with several brokers, and one stood out straight away for actually working out the best option rather than selling the standard one: he asked for the factory address and suggested Billund instead of Copenhagen. Closer to the plant and cheaper. Exactly the service you expect from private aviation.”

ROSKILDE

“The price matched the very first email”

Biggin Hill to Roskilde · Praetor 600 · Fiona L.

“From the first enquiry about availability and pricing to the end of the trip, everything was handled properly. Every question answered promptly, the return moved to quieter Roskilde, the ground transport without a hitch and the FBO faultless. Best of all, the final price matched what was discussed in the very first email.”

DAY RETURN

“Morning meetings, home for dinner”

London Stansted to Copenhagen · Citation XLS+ · Andrew P.

“A very smooth experience: professional team, and the communication throughout the arrangements was top notch. Meetings in Copenhagen in the morning, home in the evening. Could not be happier.”

ONWARD NORDIC

“Copenhagen, then Oslo the next morning”

Manchester to Copenhagen · Challenger 350 · Sarah K.

“I cannot praise the service more than it deserves, but this is that case: Bill was brilliant arranging the chain, Copenhagen first and Oslo the following morning, and the whole thing ran seamlessly from the planning through to the flights themselves. One broker, one chain, and not a single join I had to think about myself.”

WITH THE DOG

“They asked about the breed before anything else”

Norwich to Billund · Citation M2 · Helen and Bramble

“We were honestly a little nervous: Bramble is eleven, and a flight is no small thing for an older dog. The first questions at booking were his breed and his age, and the aircraft and timings were chosen around him. They handled every detail and put our minds completely at ease. The old boy travelled better than we did.”

EMPTY LEG

“Midweek, which is when they appear”

Copenhagen to Stansted · Citation XLS+ · Nicholas B.

“We regularly come home from Copenhagen on empty legs, and at those prices there is simply no comparison. Our request sits with the broker and they message the moment a flight matches our usual Wednesdays. Works without fail.”

Frequently asked questions about flying to Denmark

1How long does it take to fly to Denmark by private jet?

About an hour and thirty-five minutes from London to Billund and an hour and forty-five to Copenhagen. From Newcastle or Norwich it is closer to an hour and a quarter, and from Glasgow or Belfast allow two hours. Whichever airport you leave from, Jutland comes out ten minutes shorter than the capital.

2How much does a private jet to Denmark cost?

From about 7,600 EUR one way from Norwich to Billund on a light jet, and 9,800 EUR from Luton. Copenhagen from Stansted starts around 12,400 EUR on a super-midsize cabin and from Glasgow around 18,300 EUR. Internal Danish sectors start at about 2,200 EUR.

3Which airport do private jets use in Copenhagen?

Either Kastrup or Roskilde. Kastrup is eight kilometres from the centre with three runways and a CAT III approach, but it is slot coordinated and busy. Roskilde is twenty-nine kilometres out and exists for business aviation, so the ground handling is quicker and the slot is rarely an issue. We pick between them on the shape of the trip.

4Is Billund worth considering instead of Copenhagen?

Often, yes. Billund is 409 nautical miles from Luton against 513 to Copenhagen, so the sector is shorter and usually a cabin class lighter. It serves the corporate belt of central Jutland, and a good number of Danish meetings turn out to be nearer to it than to the capital.

5Does a Danish booking cover Greenland or the Faroe Islands?

No. Both are self-governing parts of the Kingdom of Denmark but sit outside the European Union, with their own entry requirements and their own aircraft considerations. They are long-range flights in their own right rather than an extension of a Copenhagen trip, and each has a separate page on this site.
