• Rabies vaccination at least 21 days old on the day you land, with the animal at least 12 weeks old when it was given;
• An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, dated no more than ten days before entering the EU;
• Tapeworm treatment for dogs on the return leg only, recorded with the date and the product;
• Up to five animals per booking without commercial documentation.

Cats need the same paperwork as dogs but skip the tapeworm step entirely, which makes a Spanish trip with a cat the simpler of the two. Where the difference shows is on the ground rather than in the air: a cat in a familiar carrier settles quickly on a two-hour sector, while a large dog benefits from the cabin floor and the space a charter gives it. Neither faces a weight limit, and neither goes anywhere near a hold.
