Private jet charter to Norway
Private Jets UK flies clients from Britain into Norway, a country long enough that the flight from Oslo up to Svalbard takes longer than the flight from London down to Rome. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we put on Norwegian routes sit mostly at the London fields, with several based at Aberdeen and Edinburgh that remove the positioning leg on the North Sea crossing.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Norway depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated based on the following data: departure from Aberdeen Airport, a Citation M2, two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Norway?
Norway is not one flight time but a range, and the range is enormous. These are the figures gate to gate:
268 nautical miles, the shortest way into the country from anywhere in Britainabout 1 h 15 min
377 nautical miles across the North Seaabout 1 h 25 min
524 nautical milesabout 1 h 40 min
467 and 539 nautical miles1 h 45 to 1 h 55 min
629 nautical miles to Gardermoenabout 2 h 05 min
1,197 nautical miles, inside the Arctic Circleabout 3 h 05 min
1,620 nautical miles, further than Cyprus and the northernmost airport in the worldabout 3 h 55 min
Aberdeen is the short way across, and it is not close
An hour and a quarter from Aberdeen to Stavanger against nearly two from Luton is not a rounding error, it is a different class of aircraft and a materially different price. Norway is the country on this site where the departure airport in Britain matters most, and where we most often suggest moving it. If the party can start further north the whole trip changes shape, and if it cannot, the London figures above are what to plan against.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– Stavanger is nearer to Britain than Oslo is from every departure field we use. Aberdeen sits 268 nautical miles from Stavanger against 451 to the capital, which is the difference between a light jet and a midsize one;
– The last two lines are a different proposition entirely. Tromso is 1,197 nautical miles from Luton and Svalbard 1,620, further than Cyprus, and the aircraft is chosen for range rather than for cabin.
Private jet flights within Norway
Norway runs more internal flying than any country of its size in Europe, and the reason is geography rather than wealth: mountains split the country in two and the coast is cut into fjords, so the road simply does not go there. These are the sectors we quote:
| Route | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oslo - Sandefjord Torp 66 nm / 122 km |
Airbus H145 helicopter up to 8 |
about 35 min | from 3,600 EUR |
| Oslo - Geilo 78 nm / 144 km |
Pilatus PC-12 NGX up to 8 |
about 35 min | from 4,200 EUR |
| Oslo - Kristiansand 151 nm / 280 km |
Pilatus PC-12 NGX up to 8 |
about 45 min | from 4,900 EUR |
| Oslo - Bergen 175 nm / 325 km |
Beechcraft King Air 350 up to 9 |
about 50 min | from 5,600 EUR |
| Oslo - Stavanger 184 nm / 341 km |
Beechcraft King Air 350 up to 9 |
about 50 min | from 5,800 EUR |
| Oslo - Trondheim 196 nm / 363 km |
Citation CJ2+ up to 6 |
about 50 min | from 6,700 EUR |
| Oslo - Alesund 202 nm / 374 km |
Citation CJ2+ up to 6 |
about 55 min | from 6,900 EUR |
| Oslo - Bodo 433 nm / 803 km |
Citation CJ4 Gen2 up to 8 |
about 1 h 20 min | from 11,400 EUR |
| Oslo - Tromso 602 nm / 1,115 km |
Citation Latitude up to 9 |
about 1 h 40 min | from 16,200 EUR |
| Oslo - Svalbard 1,087 nm / 2,013 km |
Citation Latitude up to 9 |
about 2 h 40 min | from 24,800 EUR |
Two things worth knowing about the internal sectors
– Oslo to Tromso is 602 nautical miles and Oslo to Svalbard 1,087, so the north of Norway is a second journey rather than an extension of the first one;
– Because so much Norwegian traffic runs one way between the capital and the coast, aircraft reposition constantly, and those movements are where the empty legs on Nordic routes come from.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:
- Large jet (similar to Legacy 600) - from 5800 to 6800 EUR per flight hour;
- Business liners - from 12100 EUR per flight hour;
- Light jet - from 2500 to 3500 EUR per flight hour;
- Long-haul jet (similar to Global 5000, Gulfstream G550, Falcon 7X, etc.) - from 6800 to 10400 EUR per flight hour;
- Medium-sized jet (identical to Cessna Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP, etc.) - from 3500 to 4400 EUR per flight hour;
- Turboprops - from 1000 EUR per flight hour.
- Large medium-class jet (similar to Challenger 300, etc.) - from 5400 to 6500 EUR per flight hour;
- Small jet, from 2000 to 2900 EUR per flight hour;

Also, we have prepared a table with the general prices of the most popular planes:

Private jets are ready to take off
Turboprops
The class that copes with the short coastal and fjord strips, and the cheapest way to move inside the country. They handle a contaminated winter runway better than most jets do.
Light jets
The volume class on the North Sea crossings, where Stavanger and Bergen are comfortably inside range. From London they reach the south of Norway but not the north.
Super-midsize
Where the Oslo bookings settle and where the internal Arctic legs start. Enough range for Tromso from the capital, which the lighter cabins do not have with a full party.
Heavy jets
For the far north, for Svalbard, and for a larger party. Above the Arctic Circle the sector length rather than the passenger count is usually what puts a client in this class.
Ultra-long range
Seen at Oslo Gardermoen, which is the only intercontinental gateway in the country, and occasionally on the Svalbard run where range matters more than anything else.

Business aviation airports in Norway
Norway has around forty airports with scheduled service for a population of five and a half million, which tells you most of what you need to know about how the country works. These are the fields a private jet from Britain actually lands at:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Oslo Gardermoen OSL / ENGM |
47 km to the centre | The only true hub in the country and its single intercontinental gateway. A 3,600 metre runway, round the clock operation, heated hangarage and de-icing, and the field almost every Oslo booking uses |
| Sandefjord Torp TRF / ENTO |
110 km to Oslo | The southern alternative when Gardermoen is congested, and closer to the Vestfold coast than to the capital. Takes midsize and heavy types |
| Stavanger Sola SVG / ENZV |
11 km to the centre | The energy capital and the closest Norwegian field to Britain. Stavanger runs the North Sea traffic, and the corridor to Aberdeen is the busiest we handle into the country |
| Bergen Flesland BGO / ENBR |
18 km to the centre | The gateway to the western fjords and the second city. Bergen takes any aircraft flying and is the arrival for Hardanger and Sognefjord |
| Trondheim Vaernes TRD / ENVA |
35 km to the centre | The technology and research capital, and the practical northern limit for a day return. Trondheim handles midsize and heavy types |
| Alesund Vigra AES / ENAL |
18 km to the centre | Alesund and the art nouveau coast, the closest field to Geiranger and the northern fjords |
| Tromso TOS / ENTC |
5 km to the centre | Inside the Arctic Circle and the base for the northern lights season. Tromso operates through the polar night and takes jets up to heavy |
| Kristiansand and Geilo KRS and DLD |
the south and the mountains | Kristiansand for the southern coast and the summer archipelago, Geilo Dagali for the ski resort and the Hardangervidda plateau |
| Svalbard Longyearbyen LYR / ENSB |
78 degrees north | The northernmost airport in the world with scheduled service, 1,620 nautical miles from London. Seasonal, weather-dependent, and always quoted with a named alternate |
Aberdeen to Stavanger is the shortest way into Norway
Two hundred and sixty-eight nautical miles separate Aberdeen from Stavanger, which is shorter than Aberdeen to London. The two cities have run the North Sea between them for fifty years and the aviation follows the oil: this is the busiest corporate corridor we handle into Norway, and it is flown on light jets that would not reach Oslo with the same party aboard. If your business is energy rather than government, departing from Aberdeen is usually both quicker and cheaper than from London, and we will say so before you ask.
Which airport for which part of Norway
The country runs thirteen hundred nautical miles from the southern coast to Svalbard, so the arrival field matters more here than almost anywhere else we fly. These are the pairings behind most of our Norwegian private jet bookings:
and the corridor to Aberdeen that carries most of itStavanger, 11 km
the only intercontinental gateway, and the longest airport transfer in the countryOslo Gardermoen, 47 km
Hardanger and Sogn from Bergen, Geiranger and the northern arms from AlesundBergen or Alesund
Geilo Dagali is the one field built for a ski resort rather than a cityGeilo, or Oslo for the larger resorts
inside the Arctic Circle, and the season runs from late September to MarchTromso, 5 km
a flight in its own right, and the aircraft needs the range to reach it and returnSvalbard
The north of Norway is further than most of Europe
Oslo to Tromso is 602 nautical miles and Oslo to Svalbard is 1,087, so the leg north from the capital is longer than the crossing from Britain that brought you in, and the Svalbard sector is longer again by half. Clients regularly ask to add two days in the Arctic to a Bergen trip and are surprised by what it involves. It is entirely doable and we arrange it often, but it is a second charter rather than a detour, and the aircraft that suited the fjords may not have the legs for it. We would rather set that out at the quoting stage than halfway through the itinerary.
Three things that shape a Norwegian booking
– Winter is the season here rather than the off-season. The northern lights run from late September to March and the Arctic fields are busiest in the darkest months;
– De-icing adds both cost and time to a winter departure, and on a tight turnaround it is worth building into the schedule rather than discovering on the day;
– Handling and landing fees in Norway sit above the European average, which is why a Norwegian quote can look higher than the distance suggests. We show the whole figure rather than the sector alone.

Flying to Norway with a dog or a cat
Norway is in Schengen but outside the European Union, and for an animal on a private jet that combination matters: the country runs its own import rules alongside the familiar European paperwork.
The one fact to read before you book
Norway is a listed country, so coming home to Britain needs no rabies blood test and no waiting period, and an Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian covers the outbound leg for six months of return journeys. What Norway adds is a tapeworm treatment for dogs on the way in, given between twenty-four and one hundred and twenty hours before arrival, which is the reverse of most of Europe where the worming applies only on the way home. Norway also requires the arrival to be declared to customs rather than walked through. Neither is difficult, but both are checked, and both need arranging before departure rather than at the aircraft.
- An ISO-standard microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination rather than after;
- Rabies vaccination at least 21 days old on the day you land, given when the animal was at least 12 weeks;
- An Animal Health Certificate dated no more than ten days before travel;
- Tapeworm treatment for dogs before arriving in Norway, and again before returning to Britain;
- Up to five animals per booking without commercial documentation.
Cats need the list without either worming. The Norwegian rule catches out owners who have flown a dog across Europe for years without ever needing treatment on the outbound leg, and it is worth reading twice. Beyond the paperwork the flight itself is easy: an hour and twenty minutes from Aberdeen or Edinburgh, no hold and no weight limit, so a large dog travels exactly as a small one does.
twenty-four to one hundred and twenty hours before arrival, which most of Europe does not ask forrequired for dogs
the animal is declared on arrival rather than waved through, because Norway is outside the EUrequired
and around two hours from London, depending on the fieldabout 1 h 20 min
a Norwegian ramp in January is severe, so the car meets the aircraftcold rather than hot
Requirements for birds, rabbits and the less usual species, along with the countries where the timeline runs to months, are set out on our flying with pets guide.
Types of flights
Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:
- private flights;
- corporate flights;
- business class flights;
- concert tours;
- medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
- tourist flights for large and small groups;
- sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
- combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
- exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
- cargo flights, etc.
A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs
Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Norway). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.
It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.
A selection of empty legs that have run on the Norwegian routes recently. Dates are left off, since a leg lasts only until somebody claims it:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Norway (Stavanger) - UK (Aberdeen) | Cessna Citation M2 | 7 seats | 2,600 EUR |
| UK (Aberdeen) - Norway (Bergen) | Cessna Citation CJ3+ | 7 seats | 3,100 EUR |
| Norway (Bergen) - UK (Newcastle) | Embraer Phenom 300E | 8 seats | 3,800 EUR |
| UK (London Luton) - Norway (Stavanger) | Bombardier Learjet 75 Liberty | 8 seats | 4,700 EUR |
| Norway (Oslo) - UK (Edinburgh) | Cessna Citation XLS+ | 9 seats | 5,300 EUR |
| UK (Manchester) - Norway (Oslo) | Embraer Praetor 600 | 9 seats | 6,300 EUR |
| Norway (Oslo) - UK (London Luton) | Bombardier Challenger 350 | 9 seats | 7,200 EUR |
| Norway (Tromso) - UK (London Luton) | Bombardier Challenger 605 | 12 seats | 11,400 EUR |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Challenger 605 home from Tromso at 11,400 EUR carrying twelve works out under a thousand a head for a sector of just over three hours;
– Set each line beside the same class in the tables above. A Citation XLS+ home from Oslo at 5,300 EUR against 12,800 for a fresh charter out of Edinburgh is the saving in plain terms;
– The Aberdeen and Stavanger corridor produces more of these than anywhere else on our Nordic routes, because the energy traffic runs one way and repositions daily.

Jet Sharing
Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.
We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1400 to 7100 euros (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.
Main advantages of this service:
- All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
- You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
- No baggage restrictions;
- Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
- Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.
Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

Helicopter charter
Alongside the private jet, Norway uses the helicopter harder than almost anywhere in Europe, and for two reasons that have nothing to do with luxury: the offshore platforms, and a coastline where the road stops at the water:
the island houses and the archipelago south of the cityabout 20 minutes

The machines that work these routes
– Airbus H125 and Bell 407, the light singles behind fjord and estate transfers, and precise into a confined shoreline site;
– Airbus H145 and Sikorsky S-92 twins, which dominate here because so much of the flying is over open water in poor weather;
– Airbus H130 for a party of six on the sightseeing legs, quieter and with better visibility over the fjords.
Two points on Norwegian rotary legs
– Fjord weather turns inside an hour and the walls funnel the wind, so a rotary transfer here carries a higher chance of postponement than the same leg in the Alps;
– North of the Arctic Circle the winter legs run in twilight or full darkness, which narrows both the operators and the hours available.

Flight payment options

Our consultants will offer you a wide variety of flights to meet your needs and budget. All payment details are provided in advance, so you’ll have enough time to make the necessary checks. For years of working in business aviation, our company has gained an impeccable reputation. We practice transparency and are always ready to present all necessary documents.

In addition, we conclude formal agreements and provide our clients with all necessary documents and invoices, which guarantees the safe payment and delivery of services. If you have any financial questions, feel free to contact our private aviation consultants.
If you need to book an urgent flight, please keep in mind that the bank transfer can take a few days. In such situations, we may need to involve our partner companies so that you can pay for your flight in cash. If you have any questions, you can contact your personal consultant 24/7.

What our clients say about flying to Norway
A few words from people who have made these trips with us. First names only, and the wording is theirs.
ENERGY CORRIDOR
“Aberdeen to Stavanger is barely a flight”
Aberdeen to Stavanger · Citation M2 · Iain M.
“All our charters go through them now. They are the easiest to deal with and the prices are consistently competitive, which matters on the oil run between Aberdeen and Stavanger when you fly it every month. Highly recommended.”
NOT OSLO
“They asked where the meeting was, not which city”
Luton to Stavanger · Learjet 75 Liberty · Marcus T.
“I asked about a million questions and every one was answered patiently and professionally, however much I kept checking. They started with the one that mattered: where exactly is the meeting. It turned out to be Stavanger, not Oslo, where I was headed out of habit. Great pilots, a spotless aircraft, everything as promised and better.”
THE ARCTIC
“They told me the north was a second charter”
Farnborough to Tromso · Challenger 605 · Elizabeth R.
“They set expectations honestly from the start: the north is its own logistics, and nobody controls the weather. We got lucky. On the approach to Tromso the crew let us know the lights were showing on the left side, and kept us informed the whole way, down to offering to wake anyone who was dozing if something appeared in the sky.”
WITH THE DOG
“The worming had to be done before we left”
Edinburgh to Oslo · Citation XLS+ · Katrine and Sam
“I had no idea the tapeworm treatment for Norway has to be done BEFORE departure, in a strict window, rather than sorted on arrival. I sent questions at all hours and got answers within minutes, even late in the evening, and Sam was booked with the vet on exactly the right day. Without that we would not have flown.”
THE FJORDS
“Alesund, then twenty minutes by helicopter”
Newcastle to Alesund · Phenom 300E · The Hollis family
“The perfect aircraft and a perfectly assembled family trip, with communication that never missed a beat. And the helicopter leg after Alesund: twenty minutes over the fjord, islands below, and the complete feeling of having reached the ends of the earth. The children still rewatch the videos.”
EMPTY LEG
“The oil traffic comes back empty”
Stavanger to Aberdeen · Citation M2 · Douglas P.
“For an unplanned trip home the empty leg was the perfect answer: the oil traffic flies back empty, and we took the aircraft at half price. Forty minutes and we were home. I recommend it without hesitation.”
Frequently asked questions about flying to Norway
1How long does it take to fly to Norway by private jet?
Around two hours from London to Oslo, and about an hour and a quarter from Aberdeen to Stavanger, which is the shortest crossing we run into Norway. Tromso runs to three hours from London and Svalbard closer to four.
2How much does a private jet to Norway cost?
From about 6,400 EUR one way from Aberdeen to Stavanger on a light jet. Oslo from Edinburgh starts around 12,800 EUR and from Luton around 17,300 EUR. Tromso runs to about 27,400 EUR and Svalbard to 38,900 EUR. Internal Norwegian sectors start at about 3,600 EUR.
3Is Stavanger closer to Britain than Oslo?
Yes, from every departure field we use. Aberdeen sits 268 nautical miles from Stavanger against 451 to Oslo, and even from Luton it is 467 against 629. If your business is offshore energy rather than government, the Stavanger sector is usually shorter, cheaper and flown on a smaller aircraft.
4Can a private jet reach Svalbard?
Yes, and it is a serious flight rather than a short hop. Longyearbyen is the northernmost airport in the world with scheduled service, 1,620 nautical miles from London and 1,087 from Oslo, which is further than Oslo is from Britain. The aircraft is chosen for range, and the return leg has to be planned alongside the outbound one.
5Does my dog need anything extra for Norway?
Yes. Norway sits outside the European Union and asks for a tapeworm treatment for dogs before arrival, between twenty-four and one hundred and twenty hours ahead, which most European destinations require only on the way home. The arrival is also declared to customs rather than walked through. Both are routine and both are arranged with the flight.
