Private jet charter in Tokyo
Private Jets UK arranges charter flights to Tokyo from Britain, nonstop where the aircraft allows and with a planned technical stop where it does not. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Tokyo is flown almost entirely on ultra-long-range equipment, and the cabins capable of it sit at a handful of bases in western Europe, the Gulf and North America. Which one we start from depends on where the aircraft is on your dates rather than on which is nearest to you.
At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Tokyo depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated based on the following data: departure from London Heathrow Airport, Embraer Legacy 600 Jet, two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Tokyo?
Tokyo is the longest sector we sell from Britain, and the honest answer is no longer the one the map gives. The straight-line distance is a little over five thousand nautical miles, but no European operator flies the straight line any more: Russian airspace is closed to them, so the routing runs either south through Turkey and Central Asia or north over the pole, and both add distance. The figures below reflect what the aircraft actually flies rather than what the map suggests:
| Route | Aircraft | Flying time | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aberdeen - Tokyo 4,915 nm / 9,102 km |
Gulfstream G650ER | about 12 h 30 min | Nonstop |
| Edinburgh - Tokyo 4,999 nm / 9,259 km |

The detour, and why the flight home is the longer one
Commercial services tell the story plainly enough: British Airways went from about twelve hours on this pairing to more than fourteen once the northern shortcut closed, and the same penalty applies to a business jet. Eastbound the tailwind absorbs part of it and the detour costs roughly an hour. Westbound, with the jet stream against you, it can cost three. That asymmetry is why a return trip to Tokyo is rarely symmetrical: an aircraft that reaches Japan nonstop may still need a technical stop coming back with a full cabin, and we settle which it will be before the contract rather than on the day.
Which aircraft genuinely make it in one go
– Comfortably: the Gulfstream G650ER and the Bombardier Global 7500, which is why they carry most of this traffic despite the hourly rate;
– Marginally, and only with the right winds and a light cabin: the G550 and the Falcon 8X. We check the loaded range against your actual passenger and baggage figures rather than the brochure;
– With a planned stop: everything else. A technical stop in the Gulf or central Asia costs about ninety minutes on the ground and is entirely routine, but it needs to be in the plan from the start, not discovered en route.

Private jet flights from Tokyo
Tokyo is a hub as much as a destination, and a good share of what we arrange starts there. Japan itself is an hour away end to end, the north Asian capitals are within three, and the Pacific opens up in a way it does not from anywhere in Europe: Honolulu, Sydney and the American west coast are all closer to Tokyo than London is. Tokyo to London costs more than London to Tokyo
Not a pricing trick, just physics and paperwork. Westbound the wind is against you and the detour around closed airspace bites harder, so the sector runs longer and burns more; on a full cabin it frequently turns a nonstop into a technical stop. Add to that the fact that very few ultra-long-range aircraft are based in Japan, so a westbound charter usually involves positioning one in. If your trip is a return, book it as a return: the same aircraft doing both legs is materially cheaper than two one-way charters bought separately.
Domestic Japanese sectors are flown on locally based aircraft and are short enough that a midsize cabin is ample. For anything beyond the table, tell us the whole itinerary at the enquiry stage: on this side of the world the aircraft is often the easy part and the slots are not.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Tokyo:
The nonstop pair
Only two cabins cover this sector reliably in one leg once the detour around closed airspace is counted. They cost more per hour and remove the technical stop, the second crew question and the extra ninety minutes on the ground.
Marginal, with the right winds
These make Japan without a stop on a good day and a light cabin, and need one on a bad day with a full one. We run the loaded figures against your actual manifest before promising either.
With a planned stop
Perfectly comfortable aircraft flown with one technical stop in the Gulf or central Asia. The lower hourly rate usually more than pays for the extra ninety minutes on the ground.
Around Japan and north Asia
For the domestic legs and the short hops to Seoul, Shanghai or Taipei, flown on aircraft based in the region rather than the one that brought you from Europe.
Business liners
For delegations and corporate groups above twenty. On a thirteen-hour sector the case for beds and a proper cabin makes itself, and the parking rules in Tokyo apply to these aircraft exactly as they do to a light jet.

This is only a small part of the jets available. We can always send the chosen jet from the neighboring country or airport.

Business aviation airports in Tokyo
Tokyo has two airports that matter for private flights, and choosing between them is the single most consequential decision on the trip. Haneda is twenty kilometres from the centre and open around the clock. Narita is sixty-five kilometres out, closed at night, and considerably easier to get into. Almost everyone wants Haneda; not everyone gets it.
Three slots, not one, and a hard four-night ceiling
Operating into Haneda needs three separate approvals: a landing slot, a departure slot and a parking slot. They are granted independently, and holding two of them is worth nothing. On top of that sits a rule with no flexibility in it whatsoever: a non-scheduled aircraft may park at Haneda for four nights. On the fifth it leaves, whether or not you have. In practice that means the jet delivers you, repositions to Narita, Nagoya or further afield, and returns for your departure. It is not a failure of planning, it is how the airport works, and any broker who tells you otherwise has not operated there.
Japan is, more than anywhere else we fly, a country that runs on filed paperwork. The authorities expect the operation to match the application exactly: a change of arrival time, of departure time or even of passenger numbers can require the approvals to be sought again. Late amendments are not welcomed and improvisation on the day is not a strategy. This is the reason we ask for firm details early on Tokyo bookings and press for decisions that on a European trip could safely wait.

How we choose between the two airports
– Short trip, city centre meetings, arriving or leaving at an awkward hour: Haneda, booked as early as the dates are firm. Fifteen to forty minutes to the centre against an hour and a half from Narita is worth real effort to secure;
– Stay of five nights or more, a large cabin, or a schedule that may move: Narita. Parking is easier, hangarage exists, and many airline slots there go unused, which makes access comparatively straightforward. The curfew is the trade;
– Peak weeks, whichever airport: assume nothing until the slots are confirmed in writing. We quote the ground transfer for both so the plan survives a change of field.
One practical note that catches crews and passengers alike: there are no fixed base operators in the European or American sense anywhere in Japan. Handling is excellent and the general aviation terminal at Haneda is comfortable, but the aircraft parks on a general ramp rather than at a private facility, and services are arranged through a handler rather than bought at a counter. Twenty-four hours of notice is the minimum for setting that up properly.
British passport holders do not need a visa for short visits to Japan, and immigration on a private arrival is handled at the terminal rather than in a queue. Longer stays and work purposes are a different matter and should be checked well before departure.
Flying to Tokyo with a dog or a cat
This is the strictest destination on our site for anyone travelling with an animal, and it is worth being blunt about it: a dog cannot be taken to Japan on a few weeks’ notice, whatever aircraft you charter. The timeline is set by Japanese law and runs to the better part of a year. Read this section before you fix any dates.
Two clocks run at once, and both must finish
The first is a waiting period of 180 days that starts on the day the rabies antibody blood sample is drawn, and the animal must remain outside Japan for all of it. Arrive early and the balance is served in detention at the border rather than at home. The second is an advance notification to the quarantine service at your arrival airport, filed at least 40 days before the flight. These are separate requirements and neither substitutes for the other: a pet with a perfect medical file and a late notification can be refused entry outright.
The full sequence, in the order it has to happen:
- An ISO-standard microchip, implanted before or on the day of the first rabies vaccination;
- Two rabies vaccinations with an approved inactivated or recombinant vaccine, the first no earlier than 91 days of age and the second at least 30 days after it;
- A rabies antibody test at a laboratory Japan recognises, with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml. The result stays valid for two years;
- The 180-day wait, counted from the blood draw rather than from the vaccination or the result;
- Advance notification to the quarantine service at the arrival airport, no later than 40 days before landing, after which an approval for import inspection is issued;
- A veterinary examination within 10 days of departure and government-endorsed certificates carrying the chip number, the vaccination details and the test result;
- On arrival, inspection at the airport. With the file in order this takes hours rather than days, and the animal leaves with you.
What this means in practice
Seven to eight months from the first vet appointment to the flight, once the gaps between vaccinations and the waiting period are counted. Start late and the trip happens without the dog. The compensations are real, though: the animal travels in the cabin beside you rather than in a hold, thirteen hours in a quiet aircraft is far gentler than the same journey in an airline freight compartment, and coming home to Britain afterwards is comparatively simple. Birds and other species sit under separate permits and quarantine of their own, and need checking case by case.
We coordinate the notification and the timings with your vet as part of the booking, and we say plainly at the enquiry stage if the dates do not allow it rather than discovering the problem later. Requirements for other animals are set out on our flying with pets guide.
Types of flights
A thirteen-hour sector filters the brief. Nobody charters to Tokyo casually, and the work that reaches our desk falls into a few recognisable kinds:
- Corporate and delegation travel, frequently tied to a fixed date at the far end, which is exactly the case where a technical stop is worth avoiding;
- Winter sports parties heading for the Nagano and Hokkaido resorts, where the group is large and the luggage decides the cabin;
- Multi-leg Asian itineraries, with Tokyo as one stop among Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Singapore, priced as a single movement rather than four charters;
- Pacific routings, where Tokyo is the natural staging point between Europe and Australia or the American west coast;
- Cultural and sporting events, which in Japan sell out hotel and slot capacity at the same time and need booking absurdly early;
- Relocations, which on this route are governed by the animal quarantine timeline more than by anything else.
The common thread is lead time. Within Europe we arrange urgent departures the same day and do so routinely. Tokyo is the opposite end of that spectrum: slots, parking and handling all have to be filed and confirmed, the authorities expect the flight to match the filing, and a fortnight is a comfortable margin where a week is not. Bring us the dates as soon as they exist, even if the passenger list is still moving.

Empty Legs
Empty legs are repositioning flights sold cheaply because the aircraft is making the journey anyway. On the Tokyo run they are rarer than on European routes and worth a great deal more when they appear, because the sector they discount is one of the most expensive we sell.
Why they exist on this route at all
– Almost no ultra-long-range aircraft are based in Japan. Every one that arrives from Europe or America eventually leaves, and the four-night parking ceiling at Haneda means it often leaves sooner than its passengers do;
– Aircraft repositioning between Tokyo and Narita, Nagoya or Sendai to sit out a long stay are flying empty by definition, though those legs are short and of limited use to a passenger;
– Pacific and Asian routings throw off the useful ones: a cabin due back to Europe, or continuing to Singapore or Los Angeles, with a week’s notice and nobody aboard.
The discount runs from about half to three quarters of a fresh charter, which on a hundred-and-twenty-thousand-euro sector is a serious sum. What you give up is control of the date and, often, of the departure hour, and legs vanish when the original client changes plans. On a short European hop that risk is trivial. On a flight with meetings at the far end it is not, so we present these as something to watch rather than to build a trip around. Give us your target week and we will flag what appears; current offers sit on our empty legs page.

Jet Sharing
Sharing means splitting one aircraft between parties travelling the same way on the same day, so the cost of the cabin divides instead of falling on one client. It is a genuinely useful product, and on the Tokyo sector it works differently than the brochures suggest.
Divide a hundred and twenty thousand euros among twelve people and the seat is still ten thousand, so this is not a route where sharing turns a private flight into an affordable one. Where it does work is in the specific circumstances that recur here: a corporate group with four spare seats on a delegation flight, a ski party filling a cabin to Nagano in January, or a return leg where the original charterer has flown out with a full aircraft and back with half of one. Those come up several times a season and we keep a list of who is asking.
A shared seat still buys the private experience
– The general aviation terminal at both ends and boarding half an hour before departure rather than three hours;
– Baggage judged by what the hold takes rather than by an allowance, which on a ski trip is the whole argument;
– A flat bed on a thirteen-hour night sector, which is the difference between arriving able to work and arriving needing a day.
Tell us the week rather than the date and how many are travelling, and we will match it against movements we already know about. It is slower than chartering outright and very much cheaper.

Helicopter charter
Tokyo is not a city where helicopters solve the transfer problem, and it is more useful to say so than to pretend otherwise. From Haneda the drive into the centre is fifteen to forty minutes and the road network is genuinely good. Where rotary flying earns its place here is on the Narita run and on the journeys out of the city, where Japanese geography turns short distances into long days.
against an hour and a half by road, and considerably more in the eveninga short flight
a long drive west, and the flight is half the reason people book ita scenic leg in its own right
mountain resorts that take several hours by road and trainthe winter run
onsen country south-west of the bayunder an hour
plant visits and corporate sites around the bayminutes
What to expect from Japanese rotary operations
– Landing sites are approved individually and the approvals take time. A helicopter to a resort or a private property is arranged weeks rather than days ahead, and improvising a landing point on the day does not happen here;
– Weather governs the mountain legs. Winter conditions in the Japan Alps and the typhoon season between roughly August and October both interrupt rotary flying, so we plan the ground alternative alongside rather than afterwards;
– Aircraft are Japanese-registered and locally crewed, and standards of maintenance and briefing are as high as anywhere we operate. What they are not is spontaneous.
Types in regular service run from the Airbus H125 for short sightseeing and transfer work to twin-engine H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 cabins for longer legs and larger parties. We arrange the rotary leg alongside the jet so the crews share one schedule rather than two.

Tokyo charters from the desk notes: six recent trips
What the longest sector on our network looks like in practice. Six jobs from recent months, drawn from the booking notes, with surnames as initials and some particulars altered.
CORPORATE · NONSTOP
Mr H. W.: a signing on the Thursday morning
London - Tokyo Haneda, Gulfstream G650ER, about 13 h · 6 pax
The client had been offered a cheaper cabin with a stop in the Gulf, which on paper saved twelve thousand euros. It also meant landing at Haneda in the early afternoon rather than at breakfast, and losing the working day before the meeting. He took the nonstop. This is the calculation on this route in a sentence: the aircraft is not the expense, the day is.
PARKING · FOUR NIGHTS
A delegation: the rule nobody had mentioned
Farnborough - Haneda, Bombardier Global 7500 · 9 pax, six-night stay
The trip ran to six nights and Haneda permits four. Nobody had raised it. We flew the group in, repositioned the aircraft empty to Narita on the fourth day, and brought it back for the departure. Two short ferry legs and a conversation two weeks in advance, rather than a scramble at the ramp on day five. Operators who work Japan regularly plan this from the outset.
SKI · GROUP
The B. party: Hokkaido in January
London - Tokyo + onward Japanese aircraft to Hokkaido · 12 pax
Twelve people, ski bags and a fortnight of luggage. The cabin was chosen for the hold rather than the seats, and the domestic leg north went on a locally based aircraft the following morning. Booked in September, which sounds early until you learn that the Japanese ski season fills slots and hotels at the same speed.
PACIFIC · STAGING
Ms C. O.: Tokyo as the middle of the journey, not the end
London - Tokyo - Sydney over eight days · 4 pax
A business itinerary crossing the Pacific, with three days in Japan in the middle. Priced as one movement with the aircraft standing down at Narita rather than as two separate charters, which saved a positioning leg and a good deal of money. Tokyo is closer to Sydney and Los Angeles than London is, and that geography is worth using.
PETS · THE TIMELINE
Dr E. F.: the relocation that started ten months early
London - Tokyo, Gulfstream G650ER, about 13 h · 2 pax + labrador
A posting to Japan with the family dog. Japan requires two rabies vaccinations, an antibody test, a 180-day wait from the blood draw and a notification filed at least 40 days before arrival. We were asked about the flight in the spring for a move the following winter, which is exactly the right way round. Had they called three months out, the honest answer would have been that the dog could not come.
EMPTY LEG · WESTBOUND
Mr J. M.: an aircraft heading home to Europe
Tokyo - London, Global 7500 empty leg, about 14 h · 3 pax
A cabin that had delivered a party to Japan and was due back at its European base, with the four-night ceiling at Haneda pushing it out anyway. He paid a little under half the standard westbound figure. Legs like this appear on the return side of the Tokyo run more often than the outbound, for the simple reason that almost nothing ultra-long-range lives in Japan.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Tokyo
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Tokyo?
About 13 hours nonstop on a Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500. Russian airspace is closed to European operators, so the aircraft routes south through Turkey and central Asia or north over the pole, which adds roughly an hour eastbound and up to three westbound. On a cabin with less range the trip takes around 14 h 30 min with one technical stop.
2How much does a private jet from London to Tokyo cost?
From about 114,000 EUR one way with a technical stop, and from 126,000 EUR nonstop on a G650ER. A Global 7500 starts near 145,000 EUR. Departures from Scotland and the north of England are slightly cheaper because the sector is shorter. The return leg costs more than the outbound because of the winds.
3Can a private jet land at Haneda, or only at Narita?
Both take business aviation. Haneda is 20 km from the centre and open 24 hours but needs three separate approvals, a landing slot, a departure slot and a parking slot, with roughly 16 general aviation slots a day. Narita is 65 km out with a night curfew, but parking is easier and hangarage is available. We advise on the choice once the dates and length of stay are known.
4Why can my aircraft only stay four nights at Haneda?
It is a fixed rule for non-scheduled aircraft and there is no flexibility in it. On the fifth night the aircraft must reposition, usually to Narita or Nagoya, and return for your departure. This is normal practice rather than a problem, but it has to be planned and priced from the start.
5Can I take my dog to Tokyo on a private jet?
Yes, in the cabin, but only with about seven to eight months of preparation. Japan requires a microchip, two rabies vaccinations, an antibody test of at least 0.5 IU/ml, a 180-day wait counted from the blood draw, and advance notification to the quarantine service at least 40 days before arrival. Miss the notification and the animal can be refused entry even with everything else in order.
