Private Jet Charter to Nuremberg from the UK
The exhibition halls rather than the season decide when Nuremberg is easy to book, so the first thing Private Jets UK checks against your dates is what is running at the Messe that week. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Southern Germany carries one of the densest business aviation fleets in Europe, and a good share of what serves this route is already working between Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt rather than positioning down from Britain. On a sector of ninety minutes that proximity is most of what decides the price.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Nuremberg depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Nuremberg?
An hour and a half from the London fields and a little over two from Scotland. This is a short sector by the standards of German business travel, and combined with an airport five kilometres from the old town it makes Nuremberg one of the more practical same-day destinations in Europe.

Door to door this is quicker than the flying time suggests
Ninety minutes in the air is only part of it. The airport sits about five kilometres north of the old city, the drive into the centre runs to a quarter of an hour and the underground reaches the main station in twelve minutes. Add the private terminal at each end and a desk in the City becomes a meeting near the Hauptmarkt in something under four hours. That is the figure worth comparing against, and it is why a substantial share of what we arrange here is out and back inside a working day.
Two things the short sector allows
– The day trip is the standard shape here. Out at eight, a full day at a factory or at the exhibition centre, home by evening, with the aircraft waiting rather than repositioning twice;
– Nuremberg works as a base rather than an endpoint. Munich is seventy-four nautical miles away, Stuttgart eighty-eight and Prague a hundred and twenty-eight, which puts a week of German plant visits inside one itinerary.

The multi-plant week, which is what this airport is really for
A large share of what we arrange out of Nuremberg is not a return to Britain but a circuit of German industry: Munich on the Tuesday, Stuttgart on the Wednesday, back here for a Thursday at the exhibition centre. Each of those legs is under forty minutes, and on sectors that short an aircraft held for the week costs materially less than three separate charters, because the positioning legs disappear. Prague and Salzburg sit at the same distance and behave the same way. Give us the shape of the week at the enquiry even if the middle of it is still moving, and we will price it both ways so the difference is visible rather than assumed.
Two points on the shorter legs
– Munich and Stuttgart are close enough that the train sometimes wins, and we say so rather than quoting a sector nobody needs. High-speed rail reaches Munich in about an hour from the main station, and on a single journey with no luggage that is hard to beat;
– Where the aeroplane wins on those same legs is a day covering two cities, an evening return after a full day, or a party of six with equipment. That is a different question from the point-to-point one, and it is the one most of our clients are actually asking.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The hourly figures above are preliminary and do not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Nuremberg:
Light jets, where most of this sits
Ninety minutes does not call for a large cabin, and since the hold is what usually decides matters here, the hourly saving is the obvious place to look first.
Midsize, and the exhibition luggage
Trade fair travel means stands, samples and cases rather than suitcases. On this route the hold decides the aircraft more often than the seat count does.
Super-midsize and large
For a full delegation travelling as one, and for the fair weeks when a single larger cabin is easier to secure than two smaller ones. The runway takes all of these comfortably.
Turboprops
The value answer for two or three passengers out of southern England. Slower by about half an hour on this sector, which matters less than the saving on a short hop.

This is a small part of what is available. Southern Germany carries a dense resident fleet, so on this route there is nearly always something already close by rather than positioning down from Britain.

Business aviation airports in Nuremberg
One airport serves the city and it does the job well enough that the alternatives rarely come up. What makes it worth a section is not the choice but the position.
Five kilometres, and an underground line into the bargain
For a city of half a million with an exhibition centre of international standing, having the airport this close to the old town is unusual. The drive to a hotel or a meeting in the centre runs to about a quarter of an hour, and when the road is busy the U2 line does the same journey underneath it in a little over ten. Readers of a business travel magazine have voted it Germany’s best airport for many years running, which is the kind of accolade one would normally discount, except that it is consistent with what our clients report. The practical effect is that the ground time at this end of a Nuremberg trip is close to negligible, and that is what makes the same-day return work as reliably as it does.

The alternatives, and when any of them earns its place:
| Airfield | When it is used |
|---|---|
| Munich MUC / EDDM |
Seventy-four nautical miles south, which is under half an hour in the air and about ninety minutes by road. It comes into play when parking at Nuremberg is spoken for during a major fair, or when an aircraft too large for the ramp here is involved |
| Bayreuth BYU / EDQD |
A small field about an hour north-east by road, used for light aircraft and occasionally during the Wagner festival when the town itself is the destination |
| Hof-Plauen HOQ / EDQM |
Further north-east towards the Czech border. Rarely a first choice, and named because it appears on operator lists as an alternate |
| Erlangen and the Franconian strips | Several small airfields serve the surrounding towns for light aircraft and helicopters. None takes a jet, and for practical purposes the answer here is always Nuremberg itself |
Three practical points
– Germany is in the EU and in Schengen and Britain is in neither, so there is a border on arrival. On a private flight it is crossed inside the general aviation terminal rather than in a hall, and a British passport needs no visa for a short business visit;
– Night departures need coordinating in advance rather than assuming. The field is not closed overnight, but a late evening departure is confirmed for your date rather than taken for granted;
– Because the airport carries scheduled and cargo traffic alongside private, slots are coordinated by the handling agent. In an ordinary week this is quick. In a fair week it is the part that wants notice.
From the apron into the city
Five kilometres, and German roads behave predictably. The figures below hold through the year, with the exhibition weeks as the one exception worth planning around.
the castle, the Christmas market square and most of the city hotelsabout 15 minutes
twelve minutes on the U2 instead, which on a bad afternoon is the quicker of the twoabout 15 minutes
south of the city at Langwasser, and the destination for a large share of this trafficabout 20 minutes
north-west, and the reason a good deal of the corporate traffic existsabout 25 minutes
the sportswear headquarters west of the city, which generate their own visitor flowabout 30 minutes
north-east through Franconia, and a different journey again in festival seasonabout 60 minutes
Three things to settle with the transfer
– In fair weeks the roads towards Langwasser carry the whole exhibition at once, and the twenty minutes above becomes considerably more at opening and closing times. We plan the transfer around those rather than through them;
– Tell us the district rather than the city. The old town, the Messe and the Erlangen campuses are three different drives, and on a same-day return the difference decides whether the schedule holds;
– In December the Christmas market closes several streets in the old town outright. The drive is still short, but the last few hundred metres may be on foot, and that is worth knowing before a car is booked to a hotel door.
Flying to Nuremberg with a dog or a cat
Germany is inside the EU, the sector is ninety minutes and the animal sits beside you rather than in a hold. Of the European routes we run this is among the easiest to travel with a dog.
The paperwork side of it:
- An ISO 11784/11785 microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, never the other way round;
- A rabies shot administered no fewer than 21 days before arrival, to an animal that was at least 12 weeks old at the time;
- An Animal Health Certificate issued by an Official Veterinarian in the 10 days before you cross into the EU, which then serves for the trip back over the following six months;
- No more than five animals per owner, and they come with you in the cabin rather than being consigned;
- A tapeworm treatment from a German vet between 24 and 120 hours before the flight back to Britain, entered on the certificate with the date and product. Dogs only.
Three points particular to Germany
– The worming appointment governs the journey home rather than the outbound, and it has to happen in Germany inside the window. On a two-day trip that is tight enough to book before you leave rather than on arrival;
– Germany is one of the more dog-friendly countries in Europe and hotels here tend to be relaxed about it, but the exhibition centre and most trade fair halls are not. If the trip is a fair, the animal stays at the hotel;
– Certain breeds face restrictions that vary between the German states, and Bavaria has its own list. We check it against your dog before the flight is quoted rather than at the aircraft steps.
A private cabin has no hold underneath it, which is why the size of the dog stops mattering the moment you leave the airlines behind. The German veterinary appointment for the return is arranged by us alongside the aeroplane. Cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual have their own conditions, gathered on our flying with pets guide.
The Nuremberg calendar: the exhibition halls set the year
Most destinations have a season. This one has an exhibition programme, and it governs availability far more than the weather does. Around a hundred and twenty fairs and congresses run here in a year, and a handful of them fill the city outright.
the largest toy trade fair in the world and one of the oldest, with some 2,300 exhibitors and close to 59,000 visitors from over 120 countriesthe hardest week of the year
the organic food, embedded systems, packaging, automation and outdoor trade fairs each pull their own wave of arrivals into a few daysrecurring midweek peaks
one of the best known markets in Europe, and the only time of year the old town rather than the exhibition centre is the destinationa leisure peak rather than a business one
the Wagner festival an hour north-east produces its own traffic, and Nuremberg is the practical airport for ita nearby draw
corporate travel at its steadiest, and the easiest weeks to book outside the named fairsthe working calendar
the halls between programmes and the city working normally. The cheapest and simplest flying of the yearthe quiet stretches
In a fair week the aeroplane is the easy part
This is the thing worth understanding about Nuremberg, and it is the reverse of how most people assume charter works. During the toy fair or embedded week the aircraft is generally findable: southern Germany carries a large resident fleet and something can be brought from Munich, Stuttgart or Vienna without the positioning cost becoming unreasonable. What runs out is everything on the ground. Hotel rooms in the city go months ahead and at multiples of their ordinary rate. Parking at the airport tightens. Ground transport towards the exhibition centre is heavily committed. Clients who book the flight first and the room afterwards are the ones who come unstuck, and on this route we check the fair calendar against your dates at the enquiry rather than after the quote is accepted.
Types of flights
This is a corporate route almost end to end, and the mix reflects an exhibition city rather than a holiday one:
- Trade fair travel, which is the largest single category and concentrates into a handful of weeks a year;
- Same-day business returns to the Franconian industrial belt, out in the morning and back the same evening;
- Multi-city German itineraries where Nuremberg is one stop among Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt rather than the destination;
- Supplier and plant visits around Erlangen and Herzogenaurach, often with equipment or samples aboard;
- The Christmas market in December, which is the one genuinely leisure season this route has;
- The Bayreuth festival in midsummer, a small but reliable flow to a town with no useful airport of its own.
The trade fair booking deserves a note because it changes the sequence of arranging things. On an ordinary route the aircraft comes first and the rest follows. Here the hotel is the scarce item and it goes months ahead, so the sensible order is to fix the room, then the flight around it. We will tell you which weeks those are before you commit to dates rather than after.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a sector the aircraft has to fly anyway with nobody in the cabin, priced well below a fresh charter. Southern Germany produces them steadily, and for a reason particular to how this region works.
Where they come from here
– The regional shuttle. Aircraft move constantly between Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Nuremberg on sectors of under an hour, and those legs are among the cheapest private flying in Europe;
– The day-trip rhythm. An aircraft that brings a delegation for a day at the exhibition centre frequently goes home empty within hours, which produces westbound legs at short notice;
– The fair weeks themselves. A great deal of traffic arrives and departs on the same handful of days, and the imbalance between arrivals and departures generates legs in both directions.
Discounts on this corridor commonly reach half a fresh charter and occasionally better, and because the sector is short to begin with the resulting figures are modest in absolute terms. The trade is control: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg disappears if the original booking moves. So this suits a traveller with a two-day window rather than a fixed appointment. What is available at the moment is listed on the empty legs page.

Jet Sharing
Sharing puts two or three separate bookings in the same cabin on the same day in the same direction, with the cost split between them. On this route the fair calendar does most of the matching work for us.
Divide six thousand four hundred pounds among six and the seat is a little over a thousand. More than a scheduled ticket and a fraction of a whole cabin, and what it buys is a private terminal at each end, room for exhibition material and an arrival five kilometres from the old town.
Where the match comes up
– The opening days of the major fairs, when a great many British firms travel to the same city on the same two or three mornings for the same reason;
– Tuesday to Thursday mornings through the working calendar, which is the standing rhythm of the German corporate corridor;
– The closing day of a fair, when the departure pattern is even more concentrated than the arrival one.
Send us the day and the headcount rather than a precise hour, and mention whether there is a stand or equipment coming, because on this route the hold fills before the seats do. We hold the request against departures already on our books.

Helicopter charter
Rotary work here is narrow and specific. The airport is already close to the city and the roads move, so a helicopter is not a way past traffic. Where it earns its place is the Franconian countryside, which is spread out and awkward by road.
the shortest hop on the list, and the one clients ask for far more often than they need itunder 10 minutes
the industrial belt, where a landing site at the plant occasionally existsabout 10 minutes
against an hour by road, and the one leg here that regularly justifies itselfabout 20 minutes
the medieval towns west of the city, scattered and slow to reach on the groundabout 25 minutes
possible, though on that distance the aeroplane wins comfortablyabout 50 minutes
When it earns its cost, and when it plainly does not
For the run into Nuremberg itself, almost never. Fifteen minutes on a German road is not a problem in need of solving, and quoting a rotary transfer for it would be selling rather than advising. Where it does earn its cost is the countryside: Bayreuth during the festival, a plant with its own landing site, or a day that has to take in two Franconian towns and return. The test is whether the destination is awkward by road rather than whether the client can afford it, and we quote both so the difference is visible.
Three constraints worth knowing
– German airspace and noise rules are strict, and landing sites away from licensed fields need permission in advance rather than on the day;
– Winter fog in the Franconian valleys will ground a rotary transfer on a morning the jet lands without difficulty, so a car stays arranged as a fallback;
– Luggage rather than seats is the practical limit, as it is everywhere with helicopters. A party with exhibition material will need the car regardless.
The machines working this region are chosen for short inland sectors rather than range. The Airbus H125 and H135 cover most of the transfer work, the twin-engine H145 takes the larger parties and anything flown in marginal weather, and the AgustaWestland AW109 appears on the corporate bookings. Everything here is based in the region and flown by local crews, and a rotary sector is written into the same booking as the jet rather than arranged separately.

Nuremberg charters from the booking notes: six recent trips
Six jobs from recent seasons, each chosen because it turned on something particular to this city. Surnames given as initials, with one or two particulars changed.
TOY FAIR · THE ROOM, NOT THE AEROPLANE
A buying team booking five weeks before the February fair
London Stansted - Nuremberg, Citation CJ2+, about 1 h 30 min · 5 pax
The aircraft took an afternoon to arrange. Hotel rooms in the city had gone months earlier and what remained was thirty kilometres out at four times the usual rate. They flew in and out on the same two days instead of staying, which on a ninety-minute sector works perfectly well and cost less than the accommodation would have.
DAY TRIP · THE SHAPE THIS ROUTE SUITS
Four directors visiting a supplier at Erlangen
Biggin Hill - Nuremberg and return, Citation CJ2+ · 4 pax
Wheels up at half past seven, at the plant by half past ten, back at Biggin Hill for dinner. The aircraft waited rather than repositioning twice, which sounds like the expensive option and is the cheaper one. With the airport five kilometres from the city this is the most common booking we take here.
MULTI-PLANT · ONE AIRCRAFT, FOUR CITIES
An engineering group covering southern Germany in a week
Luton - Nuremberg - Stuttgart - Munich - Luton, Citation XLS+ · 7 pax
Quoted as four charters the week was considerably more expensive, because each carried its own positioning legs. Held as one itinerary the aircraft stayed in the region and worked. Every internal sector was under forty minutes, which is the fact that makes this airport useful as a base rather than a destination.
EQUIPMENT · THE HOLD CHOSE THE CABIN
An exhibitor bringing stand material to the Messe
Manchester - Nuremberg, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 55 min · 4 pax + freight
Four passengers and a great deal of crated material. A light jet takes the people comfortably and the crates not at all, so the hold rather than the seat count decided the aircraft. In fair weeks this is the norm here and the most common reason a Nuremberg quote comes in above what a client first expected.
BAYREUTH · THE FESTIVAL HAS NO AIRPORT
A party attending the Wagner festival in July
Farnborough - Nuremberg + helicopter, Citation CJ3+ · 4 pax
Bayreuth itself has only a small field unsuitable for their aircraft, so the practical answer is Nuremberg and an hour by road. On the evening of a performance that hour is not reliable, and twenty minutes of rotary was. This is one of the few legs around this city where the helicopter plainly justifies itself.
EMPTY LEG · A JET GOING HOME ANYWAY
Mr D. K. with a two-day window in March
Nuremberg - London, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 40 min · 5 pax
Southern Germany produces repositioning legs steadily rather than occasionally, because the regional fleet is large and the sectors between Munich, Stuttgart and here are short. He named a window instead of an hour, which is the whole method, and paid a little under half a fresh one-way.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Nuremberg
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Nuremberg?
About 1 hour 30 minutes from Stansted, Biggin Hill or London City and around 1 hour 35 from Luton or Farnborough, covering roughly 436 to 466 nautical miles. From Manchester allow about 1 hour 55 and from Edinburgh or Glasgow 2 hours 10 to 2 hours 15. Each figure is measured from brakes off to brakes on rather than wheels up to wheels down.
2How much does a private jet to Nuremberg cost?
From about 6,400 GBP one way on a light jet out of Stansted and 7,100 GBP from Farnborough, with a midsize cabin at 9,400 to 9,700 GBP from Bristol, Leeds or Manchester and 12,800 to 13,400 GBP from Scotland. Those are ordinary-week figures; the major trade fairs price above them, and the hotel rather than the aircraft is usually what costs most in those weeks.
3Which airport do private jets use in Nuremberg?
Nuremberg Albrecht Durer (NUE / EDDN), which is the only practical choice and sits about 5 km north of the old town. It has a dedicated general aviation terminal with lounges, customs and direct apron access, and a single runway of about 2,700 metres that takes every category of business aircraft. The U2 underground line reaches the main station in around 12 minutes.
4Is it Nuremberg or Nurnberg?
Nuremberg is the English name and Nurnberg, written with an umlaut over the u, is the German one. It follows the same pattern as Munich for Munchen and Cologne for Koln, and English dictionaries list Nurnberg simply as the German form of Nuremberg. Both refer to the same city.
5When is Nuremberg hardest to book?
The international toy fair in early February, which is the largest event of its kind anywhere and fills the city outright, followed by the other leading fairs at the exhibition centre through spring and autumn. In those weeks the aircraft is usually findable but hotel rooms are not, so the sensible order is to secure the room first and arrange the flight around it.
