Private Jet Charter to Nice from the UK
Nice is two hours from Britain and seven minutes from Monaco, and on a summer booking it is the parking stand rather than the aircraft that Private Jets UK has to secure first. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Through the season a substantial part of the European fleet simply lives on this coast, moving between Nice, Cannes, Olbia and the Balearics. That proximity keeps the positioning cost down, and it is the reason a Riviera booking can sometimes be arranged faster than the ground handling for it can.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Nice depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Nice?
Just under two hours from the London fields, and around two and a half from Scotland. These are block times including taxi and approach rather than airborne minutes. The flying is the simple part of a Nice booking; what needs arranging is the ground, and the block below explains why.

In summer the stand is harder to get than the aeroplane
This is the fact that shapes a Riviera booking and the one most first-time clients do not expect. Nice has a limited number of business aviation parking stands, they are allocated with priority to locally based operators, and from May to October they are close to full. Prior permission is required for a parking request and is often not confirmed until about a week before the arrival date. On top of that, any turnaround longer than four hours needs separate approval from the airport. None of this stops you flying. It does mean that a two-week stay and a two-hour lunch are entirely different bookings, and that the aircraft frequently drops you and repositions rather than waiting on the apron.
Two more things about arriving here
– Nice is a fully coordinated airport, so the slot is requested by the handling agent through the national coordinator rather than settled with the airport directly. Outside the peak weeks this is routine and quick;
– The approach along the Baie des Anges is one of the more spectacular arrivals in Europe, which is a poor reason to choose an airport and the one clients mention most often afterwards.

Private jet and helicopter flights from Nice
Nice works as a hub for a coastline rather than as a destination on its own, and the first group below is the reason. Monaco has no aeroplane airport at all; Cannes and Saint-Tropez are close enough that the rotary leg beats the fixed wing outright:

Saint-Tropez both ways, and why we usually pick the helicopter
The table shows the same destination twice on purpose. La Mole is a short strip that takes light jets only and requires a specific pilot qualification, its customs cover is seasonal and its apron is small enough that an aircraft rarely stays. The helicopter needs none of that: twenty minutes from the Nice pads to a heliport near the town, no second set of airport formalities and no ninety-minute drive along a coast road that in August barely moves. Where the fixed-wing leg earns its place is a light aircraft already going that way, or a group with more luggage than a rotary cabin will take.
Two points on the onward legs
– The islands are the summer traffic. Corsica, Sardinia and the Balearics all sit inside an hour and a half, and a week that takes in two of them is quoted as one itinerary rather than three charters, which removes the empty positioning legs between them;
– The Alps run the other way round. In winter the same aircraft that work this coast move north, and Courchevel or Megeve from Nice is a short leg on an aeroplane already in the region.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The hourly figures above are preliminary and do not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Nice:
Light jets from Britain
Two hours does not need a large cabin, and on a route where the constraint is ground handling rather than the aeroplane, the hourly saving is the sensible place to look first.
Midsize, and the summer luggage
A fortnight on the coast produces more baggage than a week anywhere else, and on this route the hold decides the cabin as often as the seat count does.
Super-midsize and large
For groups travelling as one and for the event weeks, when a bigger cabin is easier to secure than a second aircraft. All of these use Nice rather than Cannes.
Helicopters, the local fleet
Not an extra on this coast but the way it is actually crossed. Monaco has no aeroplane airport and Cannes and Saint-Tropez are quicker reached in the air than on the coast road.
Turboprops and the small strips
For La Mole and the short strips where runway length rules out most jets, and the value answer for two or three passengers out of southern England.

This is a small part of what is available. Through the season much of the European fleet is already working this coast, and an aircraft that does not have to position down from Britain is a materially different quote.

Business aviation airports in Nice
Nice is the gateway and everything else on this coast is either a smaller field with a firm ceiling on aircraft size or a heliport. Which one suits you depends less on where you are staying than on how big the aeroplane is.
The four-hour rule and the parking permission, explained properly
These two rules together are what make a Riviera summer different from anywhere else we fly. An aircraft may not simply sit on the apron between your arrival and your departure: beyond four hours on the ground the airport has to agree to it. Separately, a parking request needs prior permission, the stands are few, priority goes to operators based on the coast, and confirmation frequently arrives only about a week before you travel. The practical consequence is that a summer booking is quoted in one of two shapes. Either the aircraft drops you and repositions to another field, coming back for your departure, or it stays and you pay for a stand that has to be secured rather than assumed. Neither is a problem when it is priced in from the beginning. Both become one when a client discovers them a fortnight out.

The rest of the coast, and where each one earns its place:
| Field | What it takes and when it suits |
|---|---|
| Cannes Mandelieu CEQ / LFMD |
Dedicated to general and business aviation, with a single runway of roughly 1,530 metres. Midsize and super-midsize cabins operate here; heavy jets cannot and go to Nice. The compensation is distance: under five kilometres to the Croisette, which during the film festival changes the arrival entirely. Noise and weight rules are strict and the field closes at sunset |
| Saint-Tropez La Mole LTT / LFTZ |
A short strip roughly twelve kilometres from the town, taking light jets and the smaller midsize cabins only. Crews need a specific qualification for it, customs cover is seasonal and the apron is small enough that aircraft rarely stay |
| Toulon Hyeres TLN / LFTH |
Further west and larger, taking every aircraft type. Its real value is as the alternative when Nice has no parking during an event week, and as the heavy-jet answer for the western end of the coast |
| Monaco Fontvieille MCM / LNMC |
A heliport, not an airport. The Principality has no fixed-wing field at all, so every private arrival in Monaco lands at Nice or Cannes and completes the journey by air or by road |
| Cannes Croisette JCA |
The town heliport, a few minutes from the hotels, and the rotary counterpart to Mandelieu rather than an alternative to it |
Three practical points
– Published figures for the Mandelieu runway vary between roughly 1,530 and 1,610 metres depending on the source. What is not in dispute is the effect: light and midsize cabins yes, heavy jets no, and we confirm the position for your specific aircraft rather than working from a general number;
– France is in Schengen and Britain is not, so there is a border, and on a private arrival it is crossed inside the business terminal rather than in a hall;
– During the film festival Mandelieu is frequently the better choice despite the smaller cabin it obliges, simply because the ground journey from Nice at that time of year is the longest part of the trip.
From the apron to the Croisette
The coast road is the whole problem, and it is why the helicopter matters here more than anywhere else we fly. In February the drives below are pleasant. In August they roughly double, and on a Grand Prix Saturday they stop meaning anything at all.
roughly 6 km, and the shortest transfer on this coastabout 15 minutes
the cape east of Nice, and slower than the distance suggests20 to 30 minutes
the Basse Corniche or the motorway, against seven minutes by helicopterabout 30 minutes
the marinas and the villa belt between the two townsabout 30 minutes
the western run along the A8, and the drive that suffers most in festival week30 to 40 minutes
the far end of the coast, considerably worse in August, and the reason the rotary leg is standard hereabout 90 minutes
Why the helicopter is standard here rather than exceptional
On most of the destinations we cover a rotary transfer is an upgrade. On this coast it is closer to the default, and the numbers are the reason. Monaco is seven minutes in the air against half an hour on a road that in season does not behave; Cannes is ten minutes against forty; Saint-Tropez is twenty minutes against an hour and a half that becomes considerably more in August. The airport keeps a substantial heliport with something in the order of fourteen landing pads precisely because of this traffic, and in Grand Prix week operators run up to a hundred and sixty flights a day with departures every quarter of an hour. We quote the rotary leg alongside the jet as a matter of course rather than offering it afterwards.
Three things to settle with the transfer
– Tell us the town rather than the region. Antibes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez are three quite different journeys from the same apron, and on a tight afternoon the difference decides whether the car or the helicopter is right;
– In the event weeks the rotary capacity is booked before the aircraft is. If the helicopter matters to the plan, it goes into the booking at the same time as the jet;
– A yacht at anchor is its own arrangement. Landing on a certified deck or at the nearest quay is possible and is agreed in advance rather than on the day.
Flying to Nice with a dog or a cat
Two hours, no hold, no weight limit and the ordinary European paperwork. The Riviera is also one of the more dog-friendly corners of the continent, which makes this an easy route to travel with an animal once the certificate is in order.
The paperwork France requires:
- An ISO 11784/11785 microchip, which has to go in before the rabies shot and not the other way round;
- A rabies vaccination administered no later than 21 days before you land, with the animal at least 12 weeks old on the day it was given;
- An Animal Health Certificate signed by an Official Veterinarian no more than 10 days before you enter the EU, which then covers the journey home for six months;
- A limit of five animals to an owner, and they must travel with you rather than separately;
- A worming treatment administered in France between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home, with the date and product entered on the certificate. This one applies to dogs and not to cats.
Three points specific to this coast
– The helicopter leg needs agreeing separately. Rotary operators decide about animals individually, and since the transfer to Monaco or Saint-Tropez is often the whole point of the trip, that conversation belongs at the quote stage;
– Beaches and restaurants vary sharply. Many private beach clubs take dogs and a good number do not, and it is worth the property confirming before you arrive rather than after;
– Summer heat is the real constraint on the ground. Midday transfers in August are hard on an animal, and we time the collection for the cooler part of the day rather than for whenever the aircraft happens to land.
Nothing travels in a hold, so a large dog flies exactly as a small one does. We arrange the veterinary appointment for the journey home alongside the flight. Anything beyond a cat or a dog carries its own conditions, and those are gathered on our flying with pets guide.
The Riviera calendar: two weeks in May that govern the year
Most destinations have a season. This one has a season and then two particular weeks inside it that behave unlike anything else in European private aviation. On this coast the calendar decides more than the cabin does.
Nice and Mandelieu both congested, and the week when the smaller field with the shorter drive is often worth the smaller cabinthe first of the two
prices rise by something in the order of half again, helicopter capacity is the binding constraint and the booking wants months rather than weeksthe densest week in European private aviation

the same coast and the same weather with the crowds either side of you. Our pick if the dates are yours to choosethe two good months
a shorter, sharper week driven by business rather than leisure, and easier to book than either May weeka corporate spike
parking is available, slots are simple and the coast belongs to the people who live there. The cheapest flying of the year into Nicethe quiet half
What the two May weeks actually do to a booking
Three things at once, and only one of them is the price. Aircraft availability tightens across the whole of Europe because everything that can fly is pointed at this coast. Parking at Nice effectively closes, which means the aircraft that brings you almost certainly leaves again and comes back. And helicopter capacity, which on any other week is abundant, becomes the thing that runs out first. That last point is the one clients underestimate: during the Grand Prix the rotary operators are flying a shuttle at fifteen-minute intervals and they are still full. If the trip depends on being in Monaco rather than in Nice, the helicopter goes into the booking at the same moment as the jet, or it does not happen.
Three levers on the price
– Move to June or September. The same coast, the same weather, a fraction of the pressure and a noticeably smaller bill. This is the largest saving available on the route;
– Accept that the aircraft will reposition. Paying for a stand through a fortnight in August is expensive when it is possible at all, and letting the aeroplane leave and return is usually the cheaper arrangement;
– Ask what is already on the coast. Through the season much of the European fleet is working these fields, and an aircraft that does not have to fly down from Britain empty is a materially different quote.
Types of flights
Nice produces a heavier leisure mix than any other route we sell from Britain, and almost all of it is concentrated into half the year:
- Summer travel to villas and hotels between Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Saint-Tropez, which is most of the volume and all of the parking difficulty;
- Yacht arrivals and departures, where the aircraft is timed to a boat rather than to a calendar and the itinerary changes more than most;
- The two May weeks, the film festival and the Grand Prix, which behave as a category of their own;
- Monaco business travel, steady through the year and largely indifferent to the season, since the Principality works while the coast holidays;
- Island hopping to Corsica, Sardinia and the Balearics, where Nice is the middle of the trip rather than the end of it;
- Winter ski connections, when the same fleet turns north and Courchevel or Megeve is a short leg from here.
The yacht bookings are the ones worth a note, because they change how we quote. A boat moves, the guest list moves with it, and the departure airport at the end of the week is frequently not the one at the start. We hold those itineraries loosely on purpose and confirm the return leg later rather than fixing something that will have to be undone.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a sector the aircraft is committed to flying regardless, offered with the cabin empty and priced well below a fresh charter. This coast produces them in quantity, and it produces them for a reason particular to the parking situation.
Where they come from here
– The repositioning cycle. Because aircraft cannot easily park at Nice through the summer, most of them drop and leave. Every one of those departures is an empty northbound leg within the hour;
– The weekend rhythm. Friday southbound and Sunday northbound run almost to a timetable from June to September, in both directions and from every London field;
– The island shuttle. Aircraft move constantly between Nice, Olbia, Ibiza and Palma through the season, and those short legs are among the cheapest flying in the Mediterranean.
Outside the event weeks a light jet leg on this corridor commonly lands somewhere around half a fresh charter, and sometimes better. The exception is absolute rather than partial: in Grand Prix and festival weeks there are effectively none, because every aircraft in the region is committed. So the pattern to work with is simple. In June, July, September and the winter, offer us a two-day window and the odds are good. In the last two weeks of May, book properly and early instead. What is free at the moment is listed on our empty legs page.

Jet Sharing
Sharing places two or three separate bookings on one aircraft travelling the same way on the same day, with the cabin paid for between them. On this route the matching is easier than most, because the traffic is so concentrated in time.
Divide seven thousand nine hundred pounds among seven and the seat comes to a little over eleven hundred. That is well above a scheduled fare and well below a whole aircraft, and it buys the private terminal at both ends, a hold that takes the summer luggage and the option of stepping straight into a helicopter on arrival.
Where the match comes up
– Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings through the summer, which is the strongest and most predictable pattern on the whole route;
– The two May weeks, where several parties are heading to the same coast on the same three days and each has booked a cabin larger than it needs;
– The start and end of the school holidays, when families travel in the same fortnight from the same handful of British airports.
Send us the day and the headcount, and mention the luggage, because on a summer Riviera booking the hold fills before the seats do. We hold the request against southbound departures already on our books.

Helicopter charter
On this coast the helicopter is not a flourish added to the end of a jet booking. It is how the Riviera is actually crossed, and on two of the destinations below there is no alternative at all, because Monaco has no aeroplane airport and never has.
against roughly half an hour by road, and the only way into the Principality other than the carabout 7 minutes
against thirty to forty minutes on the A8, and considerably worse in festival weekabout 10 minutes
the cape and the villa belt immediately east of Niceabout 12 minutes
against ninety minutes by road, and the single strongest case for rotary on this coastabout 20 minutes
subject to a certified deck or a landing site authorised in advancedirect
Courchevel, Megeve and the Tarentaise, when the coast fleet turns north45 to 60 minutes
Monaco has no airport, and that single fact shapes half a Riviera booking
The Principality is served entirely through the Fontvieille heliport, connected to both Nice and Cannes. So a private arrival in Monaco is always two legs: the aeroplane to Nice or Mandelieu, then seven minutes in the air or half an hour on the road. Clients enquiring about a jet to Monaco are sometimes surprised by this and occasionally suspect they are being upsold. They are not; there is simply no runway in Monaco. What is worth knowing is that the seven-minute leg is a regular shuttle rather than a bespoke charter for most of the year, which makes it a good deal cheaper than a private rotary booking would suggest.
Three constraints worth knowing
– In the two May weeks rotary capacity runs out before jet capacity does. Operators are flying a shuttle at quarter-hour intervals and are still full, so the helicopter is booked with the aircraft or not at all;
– Luggage limits the machine rather than the seats. Six passengers with a fortnight of summer bags will need two rotations or a larger cabin, and that is settled at the quote rather than on the pad;
– Weather stops rotary flying before it troubles a jet. A mistral or low cloud over the cape will ground a transfer on a day the aeroplane lands normally, so the car stays arranged as a fallback.
The machines working this coast are chosen for short coastal legs and quick turnarounds. The single-engine Airbus H125 handles the villa and inland work, the wider-cabin H130 with its panoramic glazing does most of the passenger transfers, and the twin-engine H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 take the over-water routes, the larger parties and the shuttle traffic in the busy weeks. Twins are the sensible minimum for anything flown over open sea. Every machine on this list is based on the coast with local crews, and we put the rotary leg into the same booking as the aeroplane so that neither crew is waiting on the other.

Riviera charters from the booking notes: six recent trips
How the coast behaves once a quote turns into a flight. Six jobs from recent seasons, surnames cut to initials and a few particulars altered.
PARKING · THE AIRCRAFT LEFT WITHOUT THEM
The W. family, a villa above Villefranche for three weeks
Farnborough - Nice, Citation XLS+, about 2 h · 6 pax
August, and a stand at Nice for three weeks was never going to happen. The aircraft set them down and went home, and a different one came for the return. Quoted that way from the start it cost less than holding an aeroplane on the coast would have, and the clients never noticed. Discovered late, the same booking becomes a scramble.
MONACO · THERE IS NO RUNWAY
Mr K. B., who had asked us to fly him to Monaco
Biggin Hill - Nice + helicopter, Citation CJ3+ · 4 pax
A perfectly reasonable request and an impossible one. The Principality has no aeroplane airport, so every Monaco arrival lands at Nice or Cannes. Seven minutes in the air from the Nice pads put him at Fontvieille faster than the road would have managed on a good day, and the rotary leg cost a fraction of what he had braced for.
GRAND PRIX · THE HELICOPTER RAN OUT FIRST
A group booking eleven days before the race weekend
London Luton - Nice, Challenger 350 · 8 pax
We found the aircraft without much difficulty. What we could not find at eleven days was rotary capacity into Monaco, because the shuttle was running every quarter of an hour and was full regardless. They drove, which on that Saturday took the best part of two hours. Booked three months out both legs would have been straightforward.
CANNES · THE SMALLER FIELD WON
A production company during the film festival
Farnborough - Cannes Mandelieu, Phenom 300E, about 2 h · 5 pax
They had assumed Nice because it takes anything. In festival week the drive from Nice to the Croisette is the longest part of the journey, and Mandelieu sits under five kilometres away. The runway there ruled out the larger cabin they first asked for, and they took the smaller one gladly once the ground time was explained.
SAINT-TROPEZ · TWENTY MINUTES OR NINETY
A party heading to a hotel near the Place des Lices
London City - Nice + helicopter, Citation CJ3+ · 5 pax
La Mole was the obvious-looking answer and the wrong one: a short strip, a pilot qualification, seasonal customs and no room to leave the aircraft. Nice plus twenty minutes of rotary got them there in less time than the coast road takes in July, and the aeroplane repositioned rather than sitting on an apron it could not have had anyway.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY NORTHBOUND IN SEPTEMBER
Ms J. A., with a three-day window
Nice - London, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h · 4 pax
September, when the coast empties and the fleet goes home. Because so few aircraft can park at Nice in season, the northbound repositioning legs are unusually frequent here, and on a Sunday evening they are close to a timetable. She paid a little over half a fresh one-way and travelled two days later than first planned.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Nice
1How much does a private jet from London to Nice cost?
From about 7,900 GBP one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill and 8,700 GBP from Farnborough. A midsize cabin runs 10,400 to 11,400 GBP from the southern English fields, Manchester about 13,800 GBP and Scotland 18,600 to 19,200 GBP. Those are shoulder-season figures: the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival price well above them, and July and August sit in between.
2How long is a private jet flight from London to Nice?
Just under two hours from Biggin Hill or London City, and about two hours from Farnborough or Luton, covering roughly 545 to 580 nautical miles. From Manchester allow about 2 hours 15, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 30 to 2 hours 35. All of those are gate-to-gate figures with taxi and approach counted in.
3Can a private jet land in Monaco?
No. Monaco has no aeroplane airport of any kind. Every private arrival lands at Nice Cote d’Azur or Cannes Mandelieu and completes the journey to the Fontvieille heliport, which takes about seven minutes from Nice by helicopter against roughly half an hour by road. The helicopter runs as a regular shuttle for most of the year rather than as a bespoke charter.
4Why is parking at Nice such a problem in summer?
Nice has a limited number of business aviation stands, priority goes to operators based on the coast, and from May to October demand exceeds supply. A parking request needs prior permission and is often confirmed only about a week before arrival. Separately, any turnaround longer than four hours needs the airport’s approval. In practice a summer aircraft usually drops you and repositions rather than waiting.
5Should I fly into Nice or Cannes Mandelieu?
Nice for anything larger than a midsize cabin, and for almost every trip outside festival week, since it takes all aircraft types and has full customs. Cannes Mandelieu suits light and midsize jets only, closes at sunset and has strict noise rules, but it sits under five kilometres from the Croisette. During the film festival that short drive frequently outweighs the smaller cabin it obliges.
