Private jet charter to Ukraine
Ukraine is the one destination on our list where the first honest answer is about the airspace and not about the aircraft: Ukrainian civil airspace is closed, so a British charter ends at a frontier and not on a runway in Kyiv, Lviv or Odesa. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Ukraine this means the sector to the airports on its frontier: Rzeszow in south-east Poland as a rule, Krakow, Lublin or Warsaw when the onward journey suits them better, and Chisinau, Suceava or Iasi for the south. The Foreign Office advises against all travel to most of the country, and this page says what that means for a charter before it mentions price.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of a private jet charter towards Ukraine depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, the gateway airport, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote for the flight to the gateway. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard, flying to Rzeszow in south-east Poland, the gateway we use for western Ukraine. There is no price for a Ukrainian airport, because no civil flight to one can be arranged while the airspace is closed. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
Can you charter a private jet to Ukraine?
Not to a Ukrainian airport, and no broker can honestly put a price on it. Five published positions bear on it. The first four would have to change before a flight is possible, and the fifth is advice to the traveller.
What each source says
– Ukraine's own notice to airmen prohibits use of the airspace by every aircraft except Ukrainian state aircraft and those cleared by the General Staff, with no air traffic service provided;
– The European aviation safety agency's conflict zone bulletin says operators should not operate in the Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Simferopol flight information regions, including landing and departing, and cites a risk of intentional targeting and misidentification of civil aircraft;
– The UK Aeronautical Information Publication states that UK operators served with a Direction under the Aviation Security Act are prohibited from entering those regions, and that other operators should contact the Department for Transport first;
– Standard aviation war-risk cover is reported to exclude Ukraine, and industry reporting names insurance as a main obstacle to any return of civil flights;
– The Foreign Office advises against all travel to most of Ukraine and against all but essential travel to the western regions of Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv and parts of Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr. It adds that travel insurance could be invalidated, that the British Embassy in Kyiv cannot help in person, and that it cannot facilitate a departure or an evacuation.
What we do, and what we do not
We price and book the aircraft to the gateway, arrange handling and customs there, hold the car and the hotel on the Polish, Moldovan or Romanian side, file what the return to Britain needs and bring you home from the same airport. We do not quote or sell a flight to a Ukrainian airfield, arrange war-risk cover, provide security or escort inside Ukraine, or sell tickets on Ukrainian trains. Whether to go, and how to insure the Ukrainian part, stays with the traveller.
Reopening is expected to be phased, with Lviv, in the west, named in published plans as the likely first airport. There is no date, and this page will be rewritten when operators publish procedures.
Before you accept a quote that names a Ukrainian airport
– Ask for the operator's air operator certificate and the insurer's written confirmation that Ukrainian airspace is covered;
– Ask for the landing permit with its number, because we found no published procedure by which a foreign private operator can obtain one while the airspace is closed;
– Ask for the handler's written confirmation. A quote that cannot show all four is not yet a quote, and we take no deposit for one.
How long does it take to fly to Ukraine?
The aircraft is the short part. A light jet needs about 2 hours 30 minutes from London City or Biggin Hill to Rzeszow, and no sector from any field we price takes longer than about 2 h 40 min, over 868 to 1,050 nautical miles. Poland keeps Central European time, one hour ahead of Britain, while Ukraine, Moldova and Romania are two hours ahead. The full price list below has all thirteen fields.
| Route | Aircraft | Flying time | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|
| London City - Rzeszow 868 nm / 1,608 km |

| Edinburgh - Rzeszow 1,014 nm / 1,878 km |
Bombardier Challenger 350 | about 2 h 35 min | Nonstop to Rzeszow |
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.
From the gateway onwards
– Rzeszow to Lviv is 142 km and to Kyiv 631 km in a straight line. The border crossing, not the distance, is the slow part;
– Chisinau lies 144 km from Odesa in a straight line, which is why it is the southern gateway;
– Rzeszow to Kharkiv is about 1,018 km in a straight line, and on the ground two train journeys with Kyiv between them;
– These legs are ground transport and not our flights.

Prices for the private jet flights to Ukraine
These are the prices of flying from Britain to Rzeszow, the airport we anchor the Ukraine price on, cheapest first. We publish no price for a flight into Ukraine, because it would describe a service nobody can operate.

Private jet flights to the neighbours of Ukraine
Seven airports serve as doors to the country. The prices are for the same light jet from Biggin Hill, so the differences come from the airports. The Romanian and Moldovan sectors are routed by way of Hungary and Romania.
KRK, the cheapest flight, with a rail change at Przemysl; 783 nm, about 2 h 15 minfrom £10,850
WAW, for the overnight sleeper to Kyiv; 808 nm, about 2 h 20 minfrom £11,150
RZE, the shortest road to the frontier; 869 nm, about 2 h 30 minfrom £11,850
LUZ, a second regional field near the frontier; 882 nm, about 2 h 30 minfrom £12,000
SCV, northern Romania, near the Siret crossing; 1,115 nm, about 3 h 05 minfrom £14,750
IAS, eastern Romania, near the Moldovan border; 1,170 nm, about 3 h 10 minfrom £15,400
RMO, Moldova, the door to Odesa; 1,228 nm, about 3 h 20 minfrom £16,050
Why Rzeszow comes first on this page
Krakow is priced about £1,000 lower than Rzeszow and Warsaw about £700 lower on the same aircraft, but Rzeszow has the shortest ride to the railhead at Przemysl. The Polish air navigation provider has paused civil flights at Rzeszow and Lublin for short periods to give priority to military traffic, so we write Krakow into the booking as the alternate.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for the flight to a Ukrainian gateway:
Light jets, the usual choice for a small party
Two and a half hours from London suits up to four people with cabin luggage. The aircraft finishes in Poland, so money goes further on a car and a hotel than on a bigger cabin.
Midsize, for a delegation with bags
The hold fills before the seats do, with samples, documents and equipment.
Super-midsize and large
For a team travelling as one party, or from Scotland where the sector is longest. Every gateway runway named here takes these aircraft.
Turboprops
Useful on hops inside Poland, not on the flight from Britain.

Business aviation airports for Ukraine and its gateways
Ukraine has airports that business jets used, and all of them are closed to civil traffic. The airports that matter for a trip are in Poland, Moldova and Romania, and the table says what each of them gives you. Hours and services are as listed in directories and airport publications, and we confirm them with the handler before a quote.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Ukrainian airports, closed KBP / UKBB, IEV / UKKK, LWO / UKLL, ODS / UKOO, HRK / UKHH |
Boryspil lies about 29 km east of Kyiv, with runways of 4,000 m and 3,500 m and a separate VIP check-in at Terminal D. Zhuliany (Igor Sikorsky), 7 km south-west of the centre, was the main business aviation field. Lviv has a 3,305 m runway and is the airport most often named as the first to reopen. Odesa has 2,800 m and Kharkiv 2,500 m with a VIP terminal. None can take a booking, and no handler can confirm services at a field closed to traffic |
| Rzeszow-Jasionka RZE / EPRZ |
The gateway we price. One runway of 3,200 m by 45 m, about 8 km north of the city centre and roughly 90 km from Przemysl station. Customs and immigration are listed round the clock, handling is mandatory and Excel, LS and FCG are among the handlers. The airfield lies inside restricted airspace near the border, and civilian flights have been paused for short periods to give military traffic priority |
| Krakow John Paul II KRK / EPKK |
The alternate and the cheaper flight. One runway of about 2,550 m, 11 km west of the city, listed as open round the clock, with a VIP terminal and a business lounge. Slots are coordinated, non-scheduled flights need prior permission and handling is mandatory. Krakow is about 170 km from Rzeszow by the A4 |
| Warsaw Chopin WAW / EPWA |
About 10 km from the centre, with runways of 3,690 m and 2,800 m, open round the clock, with customs, slots required and handling mandatory (Excel and Welcome Executive among the handlers). Ad hoc flights are not permitted between 23:30 and 05:30. The reason to use it is the overnight train to Kyiv |
| Chisinau RMO / LUKK |
About 13 km south-east of the city, with runways of 3,590 m and 2,383 m and a VIP terminal. Listed as an airport of entry open round the clock, with customs, mandatory handling, no slot requirement and Euro Jet and FCG among the handlers. Moldova is reported to keep sections of its airspace closed near the Ukrainian boundary, so the routing is agreed in advance |
| Suceava and Iasi SCV / LRSV, IAS / LRIA |
Two Romanian regional airports. Suceava has a 2,460 m runway about 12 km east of the city, with customs listed but not as an airport of entry, and mandatory handling. Iasi has a 2,400 m runway about 8 km east of the city, close to the Moldovan border, with an ILS approach to Category I, customs, mandatory handling and slots required. We have not confirmed a dedicated business aviation terminal at either |
Three things to settle before a gateway landing:
Handling first
General aviation is accepted after the handler has confirmed. At Rzeszow the tower is listed as working from the early morning to around midnight, and outside those hours service is by request with about two days' notice. We name the handler in writing before the flight.
The operator permit
A British operator running a commercial charter into Poland needs a permit from the Polish Civil Aviation Authority, filed at least three working days ahead for one to nine flights. Moldova's authority lists two working days for up to three flights. We track the permit with the aircraft papers, and it is a condition of the booking.
The overnight
Nobody should plan to cross the border on the day of landing. A hotel near the airport or the station is booked with the flight, the crew stay with the aircraft, and the train is chosen to leave in the evening.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
The formalities are those of the gateway country, and the Ukrainian frontier is a second crossing after them. British passport holders need no visa for a short stay in any country below, and each has its own passport rules.

Poland and Romania
Both apply Schengen rules to British visitors: 90 days in any 180, a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for three months beyond departure, and the Entry/Exit System registers a photograph and fingerprints. Passport control and customs are done at the gateway, because Britain is outside Schengen. In Poland, access to the strip along the Ukrainian border is restricted except at the crossing points.
Moldova
British citizens may stay 90 days in any six months without a visa, with a passport valid for three months after departure and holding a blank page, and a return or onward ticket. Cash above the declaration limit must be declared. The Foreign Office advises against all travel to Transnistria, and for the land border it points to the recognised crossings in the north and south.
Ukraine
British citizens can enter Ukraine without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport valid for the whole stay. Expect an immigration card, fingerprints if asked and a check of funds. Entry is only through controlled crossings, queues at those with EU countries and Moldova can be long, and the border guard service decides.
Returning to Britain
The flight home needs a General Aviation Report filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure. British and Irish citizens need no Electronic Travel Authorisation, and other nationalities should check theirs. We file the report with the handler.
Which gateway for which part of Ukraine
The right door depends on where in Ukraine the programme ends. The Foreign Office advice differs between regions, and we mention it where it matters.
The west: Lviv and the Carpathians
Rzeszow, about 140 km from Lviv in a straight line, is the natural gateway, with Krakow as the alternate. These are the regions for which the Foreign Office uses its lower level of advice, against all but essential travel.
Kyiv
Rzeszow and Przemysl for a daytime train and a hotel night, Warsaw for the overnight sleeper, Krakow for a through ticket with a change at Przemysl. Kyiv is outside the western regions named by the Foreign Office.
The south: Odesa
Chisinau is the shortest hop, with the road to Odesa listed at 184 km and coaches taking from about three and a half to six hours with border checks. Iasi and Suceava are longer on the ground. Odesa is not among the regions the Foreign Office lists for its lower level of advice.
The east: Kharkiv
Rzeszow, then Przemysl, Kyiv and a second train, about a day and a night after landing. Chisinau does not shorten it: the sleeper from Chisinau to Kyiv alone is listed at about seventeen and a half hours. For the east we price Poland.
The long way in: by rail from the gateway
People do travel into Ukraine from Poland by land, for reasons that are theirs to weigh against the Foreign Office advice. The railway crosses the border at Przemysl. We describe the route so that the plan is realistic, and we do not sell or guarantee anything beyond the gateway country.
- From the airport to the platform: a car from Rzeszow to Przemysl is about 90 km and takes an hour to an hour and twenty minutes. We book it with the flight;
- Przemysl to Kyiv: the railway timetables listed by Seat61 show several departures a day, and the faster trains take about nine to ten hours, border control included. RegioJet also runs trains between Krakow, Przemysl and Kyiv;
- Warsaw to Kyiv: a sleeper is listed from Warsaw Wschodnia in the early evening, taking about 14 hours, and berths sell out two or three weeks ahead;
- Kyiv to Kharkiv: the Intercity services were scheduled at a little over five hours overnight, but the line has seen suspensions, diesel haulage and delays of up to three hours on one section, and some trains have reached the platform after curfew;
- Tickets: Ukrainian Railways sells most tickets, and foreign visitors have needed a Ukrainian digital signature obtained through the railway app, which takes a few hours to verify. RegioJet tickets from Przemysl and Krakow can be bought online without it;
- Air-raid alerts and security checks can stop or slow a service without notice. The Foreign Office says it cannot confirm which services are operating and advises avoiding night-time travel on the roads wherever possible.
Plan for several days
A same-day return is not possible. The rail journey alone takes the best part of a day each way, so a trip to Kyiv or beyond by way of Poland is a matter of several days, and the return date should never carry a hard commitment.
Flying to the gateway with a dog or a cat
We advise against taking an animal into Ukraine. The flight to Poland is simple: the animal sits in the cabin beside you, never in a hold, and the planning goes into the paperwork and its dates. What Poland, as an EU country, asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time;
- A rabies vaccination at 12 weeks or older, with 21 days elapsed before travel;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used;
- No more than five animals per traveller, entering through a travellers' point of entry;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
If the animal travels on into Ukraine
Ukraine sets its own veterinary rules, and we have not verified them. The gov.uk guidance for animals coming from Ukraine to Great Britain asks for a blood test at least 30 days after the rabies vaccination and a wait of three months after the test, and tells owners to call the Animal and Plant Health Agency before leaving the UK. That is the reason to keep the animal on the Polish side with a carer. For the gateway itself, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the way home in writing before the flight.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. We do not list empty legs into Ukraine. Legs between Britain and Poland do appear, when an aircraft that has taken a party to Rzeszow, Krakow or Warsaw flies home unoccupied.
A client who can name a few days has a far better chance of a match than one who needs a particular evening, and a leg can disappear when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page.

Helicopter charter
There is no helicopter charter into Ukraine, because the airspace closure covers rotary aircraft as it covers jets. On the Polish side a helicopter can link an airfield and a hotel, but the airspace near the frontier carries military restrictions, so we ask before we plan one.

Ukraine enquiries from the booking notes: six typical cases
Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
THE ANSWER WAS NO · FEASIBILITY
A nonstop quote that looked too cheap
Biggin Hill - Rzeszow, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 30 min · 4 pax
Another broker had quoted a nonstop price to a Ukrainian airport, well below ours. We asked for the operator certificate, the insurer's letter and the permit number, and none could be produced. The meeting moved to Krakow.
THE SLEEPER · WARSAW
A delegation that wanted to arrive rested
London Luton - Warsaw, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 10 min · 6 pax
A delegation bound for Kyiv chose Warsaw over Rzeszow because the sleeper leaves in the early evening and arrives in the morning. Berths were booked weeks ahead and the aircraft was released the same day.
THE SOUTH · CHISINAU
A programme that ended near Odesa
London Luton - Chisinau, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 10 min · 5 pax
The programme ended in the south, so Chisinau was the door: a longer flight, then a coach. The handler was agreed by name, the approach routing was confirmed, and the party expected a full day to the first Ukrainian hotel.
FALLBACK USED · RZESZOW TO KRAKOW
The gateway that paused for a morning
Farnborough - Rzeszow, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 20 min · 5 pax
Rzeszow paused civilian arrivals for a few hours. Krakow was written into the booking as the alternate, so the aircraft landed there and the plan lost an afternoon, not the trip.
POLAND TO BRITAIN · THE WAY HOME
A short notice flight out of Rzeszow
Rzeszow - London Luton, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 20 min · 4 pax
Four British passport holders had crossed into Poland by train and wanted to be home that evening. We found an aircraft positioned in the region and had it waiting when the party reached Rzeszow from Przemysl.
EMPTY LEG · POLAND TO BRITAIN
A jet already going your way
Krakow - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 05 min · 3 pax
An aircraft that had brought a party to Krakow was flying home empty. The client gave a three-day window instead of a date and paid well below a fresh one-way charter.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Ukraine
1Can I charter a private jet to a Ukrainian airport?
No. Ukraine's notice to airmen prohibits civil use of its airspace, the European safety agency tells operators not to operate there, UK operators served with a Direction may not enter it, and war-risk insurance is reported to exclude the country. There is no date for a reopening, and published plans name Lviv as the likely first airport. We price the flight to a gateway instead.
2Which airport should I fly into to reach Ukraine?
Rzeszow (RZE) is the nearest to the western border, about 90 km from the rail head at Przemysl, with Krakow (KRK) as the alternate when civil flights at Rzeszow are paused. Warsaw (WAW) suits the overnight train to Kyiv, and Chisinau (RMO) is the door to Odesa. Choose by the onward route and by the time you want to arrive.
3How long and how much is a private jet from London to Rzeszow?
About 2 hours 30 minutes from London City or Biggin Hill in a light jet, covering roughly 869 nautical miles, and from £11,850 one way. A Phenom from Luton or Farnborough costs £12,000 to £12,250, and from Scotland allow £20,850 to £21,450 in a larger aircraft. The ground journey beyond the gateway is not part of the price.
4What does the Foreign Office say about travel to Ukraine?
It advises against all travel to most of the country, and against all but essential travel to the western regions of Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv and to parts of Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr. Travel insurance could be invalidated by travelling against that advice, and the Foreign Office cannot facilitate a departure or an evacuation.
5Do British citizens need a visa for Ukraine?
British citizens can enter Ukraine without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport valid for the whole stay, an immigration card and, if asked, proof of funds. The border guard service decides on entry, and visa-free entry is not advice to travel.
6Can I take my dog to Poland on a private jet?
The dog can fly in the cabin to Rzeszow with a microchip, a rabies vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days before travel, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry to the EU. We advise against taking an animal into Ukraine. A dog also needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain.
