Private jet charter to Monaco
Private Jets UK flies clients from Britain to Monaco, a country of two square kilometres with no runway anywhere in it, where the jet lands at Nice and the last seven minutes are flown by helicopter. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we put on Riviera routes sit mostly at the London fields, with several based at Nice through the summer that remove the positioning leg on a short-notice booking.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Monaco depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated based on the following data: departure from London Biggin Hill Airport, a Citation CJ3+, two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Monaco?
The jet flies to Nice and the helicopter covers the rest. These are the figures for the first leg, gate to gate:
544 nautical miles, the shortest crossing from Britainabout 1 h 40 min
560 and 580 nautical milesabout 1 h 45 min
613 and 638 nautical milesabout 1 h 55 min
693 and 705 nautical milesabout 2 h 05 min
766 nautical milesabout 2 h 15 min
842 and 859 nautical milesabout 2 h 25 min
What the last thirty kilometres actually cost in time
The helicopter from Nice to the Monaco heliport takes seven minutes and leaves from the apron alongside the business terminal, so there is no transfer between the two aircraft worth the name. The road covers the same ground in about forty minutes when the coast is quiet and rather more when it is not. From the London fields the whole journey, wheels up to the heliport, comes to a little under two hours.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– These prices cover the jet as far as Nice or Cannes. The transfer into Monaco is quoted separately and is set out in its own table below, because for most parties it is the part that decides how the day actually goes;
– Grand Prix week and the September yacht show are a different market from the rest of the year. Everything on this page assumes an ordinary week, and we say so plainly when a date falls inside one of those windows.
Getting from the aircraft into Monaco
These are the transfers we arrange from each of the surrounding airports, priced for the whole helicopter rather than for a seat on it:
| Transfer | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monaco (MCM) from Nice (NCE) | Airbus H125 up to 5 |
about 7 min | from 2,900 EUR |
| Monaco (MCM) from Cannes (CEQ) | Airbus H125 up to 5 |
about 15 min | from 3,600 EUR |
| A yacht in Monaco harbour, from Nice (NCE) | Airbus H145 up to 6 |
about 20 min | from 4,800 EUR |
| Monaco (MCM) from Toulon (TLN) | Airbus H145 up to 6 |
about 35 min | from 7,400 EUR |
| Monaco (MCM) from Genoa (GOA) | Airbus H145 up to 6 |
about 38 min | from 8,900 EUR |
Pack for the second leg, not the first
The helicopters that work this route will not take hard-shell suitcases, and the practical allowance is around ten kilogrammes per passenger in soft luggage. This catches out more first-time visitors than any other detail of the trip, because nobody mentions it until the bags are already on the apron. Where a party is travelling with proper luggage we send the cases by road while the passengers fly, and they are at the hotel before anyone has unpacked. A scheduled seat on the Nice shuttle runs from about 250 EUR a head and leaves several times an hour; the figures in the table above are for taking the whole aircraft, which is what most of our clients do because it moves on their schedule rather than its own.
When a car beats the helicopter
– Nice to Monaco is about thirty kilometres by the coast road or the A8, and a car takes forty minutes on a quiet morning and considerably longer on a summer afternoon;
– For a family with hard cases, an evening arrival or a party of more than six, the car is often the better answer and we will say so rather than sell a second flight.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:
- Large jet (similar to Legacy 600) - from 5800 to 6800 EUR per flight hour;
- Business liners - from 12100 EUR per flight hour;
- Light jet - from 2500 to 3500 EUR per flight hour;
- Long-haul jet (similar to Global 5000, Gulfstream G550, Falcon 7X, etc.) - from 6800 to 10400 EUR per flight hour;
- Medium-sized jet (identical to Cessna Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP, etc.) - from 3500 to 4400 EUR per flight hour;
- Turboprops - from 1000 EUR per flight hour.
- Large medium-class jet (similar to Challenger 300, etc.) - from 5400 to 6500 EUR per flight hour;
- Small jet, from 2000 to 2900 EUR per flight hour;

Also, we have prepared a table with the general prices of the most popular planes:

Private jets are ready to take off
Light jets
The class that does most of the London runs, because the sector is short enough that the extra cabin of a larger aircraft buys very little on a flight of under two hours.
Super-midsize
Where a full party from the London fields usually settles, and the largest class Cannes Mandelieu will take on its 1,620 metre runway.
Heavy jets
For the northern English departures and for a party of ten or more. Nice takes anything, so the ceiling here is the budget rather than the runway.
Ultra-long range
For the Scottish departures, and for a party joining the coast from outside Europe on the same aircraft they arrived on.

Business aviation airports for Monaco
None of these are in Monaco, because none can be. This is the ring of airports a private jet to Monaco actually uses, in order of how far the second leg has to travel:
| Airport | Distance | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Nice Cote d’Azur NCE / LFMN |
18 km from Monaco | The arrival on almost every line above and the busiest business aviation airport in France. A dedicated business terminal, customs around the clock, and no aircraft size it will refuse. Nice |
| Cannes Mandelieu CEQ / LFMD |
42 km from Monaco | A 1,620 metre runway, so everything up to a midsize cabin and none of the heavy ones. No airline schedule to work around, which on this coast is worth more than it sounds. Cannes and Antibes are on the doorstep |
| Monaco Heliport MCM / LNMC |
in Fontvieille | The only aerodrome inside the Principality and the only place an aircraft may land there. Helicopters exclusively, two minutes from the Grand Prix circuit and five from most of the hotels |
| Toulon Hyeres TLN / LFTH |
124 km from Monaco | Further out, and used mainly when Nice is full or when a large aircraft needs somewhere to sit for a few days. A helicopter covers the gap in about thirty-five minutes |
| Genoa GOA / LIMJ |
137 km from Monaco | The Italian option, and a genuinely useful one for Monaco because it is often quieter than the French fields at exactly the moments they are not |
| Le Castellet LFMQ |
142 km from Monaco | A private field with a 1,835 metre runway, popular for parking during the race weekend and for anyone whose business is at the Paul Ricard circuit |
Grand Prix week is a separate operation, not a busy version of the normal one
For the race weekend at the end of May, Nice handles something in the order of eight hundred to a thousand private jet movements above its usual volume, and the airport runs under a published set of temporary restrictions that begin several days before the cars do. Slots and stands go months ahead. Parking an aircraft at Nice across the full weekend runs between fifteen and thirty thousand euros depending on size, which is why the usual arrangement is to land, drop the passengers and send the aircraft somewhere with room. Toulon, Le Castellet and Genoa all take that traffic, and the crew comes back for you on the Sunday evening. None of this is a problem if it is planned in February. All of it is a problem if it is planned in May.
The other weeks that behave the same way
– The Monaco Yacht Show in late September, which fills the harbour and the apron together and is the second hardest week of the year to arrange;
– The Cannes film festival in May and the two big trade fairs either side of it, which take the Cannes apron out of play even though they are not Monaco events;
– The first two weeks of August, when the whole Riviera is at its fullest and a same-week booking is genuinely difficult rather than merely expensive.
Which arrival suits which trip
The choice is really between two airports and two ways of covering the last thirty kilometres. These are the pairings behind most of our bookings here:
the fastest door to door, and the arrival most clients ask for by nameNice, then the helicopter
arranged with the captain, and worth confirming the pad before the dayNice, then a deck landing
twenty minutes by road, and the helicopter saves nothing on this oneNice, then a car
no airline traffic to queue behind, and the drive is shorter tooCannes Mandelieu
the point where the helicopter stops being the sensible answerNice, then two cars
The missing runway turns out not to matter
Monaco is a sovereign state of about two square kilometres, and the geography that makes it what it is also makes it the only country on this site you cannot fly into. Everyone who arrives, arrives somewhere else first. That sounds like a drawback and in practice is the opposite: the helicopter line from Nice is one of the busiest in Europe, it runs several times an hour, and the hop is shorter than the walk between terminals at most large airports. The awkward part is not the flying. It is the luggage, and it is the last fortnight of May.

Flying to Monaco with a dog or a cat
The paperwork here is French, because the arrival is French, and the part that needs thinking about is the second leg rather than the first.
The one fact to read before you book
France is a listed country, so coming home needs no rabies blood test and no waiting period. An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, dated within ten days of travel, covers the outbound leg and stays valid for return journeys for six months. Dogs need a tapeworm treatment on the way back, given by a vet in France or Monaco between one and five days before departure. The Monaco-specific point is the helicopter: an animal in a carrier counts against the same tight luggage allowance the passengers do, and not every operator on the route will take one at all. Where a dog is coming, we usually put the party in a car and let the animal travel on the floor rather than in a bag.
- An ISO-standard microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination rather than after;
- Rabies vaccination at least 21 days old on the day you land, given when the animal was at least 12 weeks;
- An Animal Health Certificate dated no more than ten days before travel;
- Tapeworm treatment for dogs on the homeward leg only;
- Up to five animals per booking without commercial documentation.
Cats need the same list without the worming. On the jet itself there is no hold and no weight limit, so a large dog travels exactly as a small one does, and the flight from London is short enough that most animals barely settle before it is over. The Principality itself is unusually good with dogs once you are there, and most of the hotels take them without fuss.
worth settling at the quoting stage rather than at the aircraftthe constraint worth planning around
a vet in France or Monaco, one to five days before the return flighton the homeward leg only
short enough that the animal is barely settled before the descentabout 1 h 45 min
the hotels are used to dogs and the Principality is walkable end to endeasier than most of the coast
Requirements for birds, rabbits and the less usual species, along with the countries where the timeline runs to months, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Types of flights
Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:
- private flights;
- corporate flights;
- business class flights;
- concert tours;
- medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
- tourist flights for large and small groups;
- sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
- combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
- exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
- cargo flights, etc.
A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs
Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Monaco). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.
It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.
A selection of empty legs that have run on the Riviera routes recently. Dates are left off, since a leg lasts only until somebody claims it:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monaco (NCE) - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Cessna Citation CJ3+ | 7 seats | 6,000 EUR |
| UK (Southampton) - Monaco (NCE) | Embraer Phenom 300E | 8 seats | 6,400 EUR |
| Monaco (CEQ) - UK (London Luton) | Cessna Citation XLS+ | 9 seats | 7,100 EUR |
| UK (London Luton) - Monaco (NCE) | Cessna Citation Latitude | 9 seats | 7,400 EUR |
| Monaco (NCE) - UK (Bristol) | Embraer Praetor 600 | 9 seats | 8,100 EUR |
| UK (Birmingham) - Monaco (NCE) | Bombardier Challenger 350 | 9 seats | 8,700 EUR |
| Monaco (NCE) - UK (Leeds Bradford) | Bombardier Challenger 605 | 12 seats | 9,800 EUR |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Monaco (NCE) | Bombardier Global 6000 | 13 seats | 11,800 EUR |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Global 6000 out of Edinburgh at 11,800 EUR carrying thirteen works out at about nine hundred a head for two and a half hours;
– Set each line beside the same class in the first table. A Citation CJ3+ home to Biggin Hill at 6,000 EUR against 14,200 for a fresh charter is the saving in plain terms;
– The Riviera produces these in volume because so much of its traffic is one way at each end of a stay, and the helicopter leg into Monaco can be added to any of them.

Jet Sharing
Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.
We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1400 to 7100 euros (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.
Main advantages of this service:
- All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
- You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
- No baggage restrictions;
- Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
- Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.
Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

What our clients say about flying to Monaco
A few words from people who have made these trips with us. First names only, and the wording is theirs.
THE LUGGAGE
“Nobody had told me about the soft bags”
Biggin Hill to Nice · Citation CJ3+ · Frederick A.
“My first private flight, and I was guided through it from start to finish with every question patiently answered. Most usefully, they warned me in advance that the helicopter on the final leg takes soft bags only, and rigid suitcases simply will not go aboard. Nobody had ever told me that. We repacked at home rather than on the apron, and everything fitted with room to spare.”
GRAND PRIX
“They told me in February what May would cost”
Luton to Nice · Citation Latitude · Hugo M.
“Seven years a client now, and the attention to small details that keeps me here shows best at Grand Prix time: I was told in February what the May dates would cost, and that was the figure on the invoice. Nice slots for that week evaporate by March, and anyone who has not booked by winter pays very different money.”
THE HELICOPTER
“Seven minutes and we were in Monte Carlo”
Farnborough to Nice · Phenom 300E · Isabelle R.
“We landed in Nice behind schedule and it made no difference at all: they simply put us on the next helicopter, no penalty and no fuss. Seven minutes over the water instead of an hour in the coast road traffic, and the car was already waiting at the heliport. The most underrated part of a Monaco trip is the connection, and here it runs like clockwork.”
CANNES
“They suggested the other airport”
Luton to Cannes · Citation XLS+ · Marcus D.
“We compared the options, and the best of them turned out to be about the airport rather than the price: instead of crowded Nice they suggested Cannes Mandelieu. Yes, its operating hours are shorter, and they were honest about that, but the apron is empty and the Croisette is fifteen minutes away. The whole thing ran without a single seam.”
THE DOG
“We drove the last stretch for the dog”
Southampton to Nice · Phenom 300E · Camilla and Bruno
“These people always come through. The plan changed on the move because of Bruno: the helicopter leg is not straightforward with a dog, so without any fuss they arranged a car for the last stretch instead, forty minutes along the coast, and he slept the whole way. The care was real rather than scripted.”
EMPTY LEG
“Home from Nice at well under half”
Nice to Biggin Hill · Citation CJ3+ · Anthony P.
“We took an empty leg at the last minute at an excellent price. The reception at the private terminal was charming, we departed exactly on time, the flight was cosy and the pilots were lovely. Completely happy with my choice.”
Frequently asked questions about flying to Monaco
1Can a private jet land in Monaco?
No. Monaco has no runway and no fixed-wing airport, so every private flight lands at Nice or Cannes and the last stretch is flown by helicopter or driven. The only aerodrome inside the Principality is the heliport at Fontvieille, which takes helicopters exclusively.
2How long does it take to fly to Monaco by private jet?
About one hour and forty-five minutes from the London fields to Nice, and around two and a half hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow. Add seven minutes for the helicopter into Monaco, or about forty for the drive.
3How much does a private jet to Monaco cost?
From about 14,200 EUR one way from Biggin Hill to Nice on a light jet, and 17,600 EUR from Luton on a super-midsize cabin. Manchester starts around 21,700 EUR and Edinburgh around 28,100 EUR. The helicopter transfer into Monaco runs from about 2,900 EUR for the whole aircraft or 250 EUR for a scheduled seat.
4Nice or Cannes for Monaco?
Nice for almost every trip, because it is 18 kilometres out, takes any size of aircraft and has the helicopter apron alongside the business terminal. Cannes Mandelieu is 42 kilometres away and its 1,620 metre runway rules out heavy jets, but it handles general aviation only, so there is no commercial traffic to queue behind. For Cannes and Antibes themselves it is the better arrival.
5What happens during the Grand Prix?
Nice runs under temporary restrictions for several days either side of the race, slots and stands are taken months ahead, and parking an aircraft across the weekend costs between fifteen and thirty thousand euros. The usual arrangement is to land, drop the passengers and reposition the aircraft to Toulon, Le Castellet or Genoa until the Sunday evening.
