Private Jet Charter to Australia from the UK
Private Jets UK arranges charter flights from Britain to Australia, and it is the one country we fly to where the aircraft has to land on the way whatever you are willing to spend. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Australia has a substantial business aviation fleet of its own, but almost none of it is sized for the flight to Europe. An aircraft for this route comes from Europe, the Gulf or occasionally Asia, and the empty positioning that implies is the largest single component of what you pay.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Australia depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on the following basis: departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Australia?
Sydney is a little over nine thousand nautical miles from London. That figure is the whole story of this route, and it is worth stating plainly before anything else: no business jet in production reaches the Australian east coast from Britain without landing on the way. The longest-legged cabins available today are rated at seven thousand five hundred to seven thousand seven hundred nautical miles, which leaves Sydney around fifteen hundred miles beyond the reach of the best of them. Darwin, at just under seven and a half thousand miles, is the one point on the continent that falls inside a Global 7500 on paper, and even there the figure only holds with a light cabin and helpful winds, so we plan it with a stop as well. Anyone quoting you a nonstop to Sydney or Melbourne is quoting something that cannot be flown.
What that means in practice is a planned technical stop, or two on the smaller cabins, and total journey times built around the stop rather than around the airframe:
| Route | Aircraft | Total journey | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|
| London - Darwin 7,476 nm / 13,846 km |

Where the aircraft stops, and why it matters
The usual choices are Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong or a Gulf field such as Dubai, and the decision is arithmetic rather than preference. Splitting London to Sydney through Singapore gives legs of roughly 5,900 and 3,400 nautical miles, both comfortably inside an ultra-long-range cabin. Through Dubai the first leg is short at under 3,000 miles but the second runs to 6,500, which is close to the limit for several aircraft once passengers and baggage are aboard. Bangkok and Hong Kong split the difference more evenly. We pick the routing against your actual load rather than the brochure range, and a stop of an hour and a half for fuel is far better than a diversion for it.
The crew question, which is not optional
– Twenty-one hours of journey time exceeds what a single crew may legally work, so this route is flown with an augmented crew carried from the outset, or with a fresh crew positioned at the stop;
– That is a real cost, and it belongs in the quote from the start. An operator who has not priced it is either flying you illegally or is about to revise the figure;
– It is also why the cabin matters more here than anywhere. On a sector this long a bed is not indulgence, and the difference between arriving able to work and losing a day is what most clients are actually buying.

Private jet flights within Australia and the region
The country is the size of Europe and the distances inside it behave accordingly. Sydney to Melbourne is a short hop of under four hundred nautical miles; Sydney to Perth is nearly eighteen hundred, about the same as London to Cyprus. That is why domestic charter here is a genuine market rather than an afterthought, and why the aircraft that brought you from Britain is rarely the right one for the legs that follow:

Why we usually release the long-range cabin on arrival
An ultra-long-range aircraft sitting on a Sydney apron for a fortnight is the most expensive way to own a domestic flight. Australia has a deep local charter fleet, well suited to the short sectors between the eastern cities, and switching to it is almost always cheaper than holding the aircraft that carried you out. The usual shape of a trip here is the long cabin out, released to its next job or flown home, local aircraft for whatever happens inside the country, and a long cabin brought back for the return. It sounds more complicated than it is, and it is normally the difference between a sensible bill and an absurd one.
New Zealand, Bali and Singapore are the onward destinations we are asked for most, and all three sit within range of a large-cabin aircraft from the eastern seaboard. Where a trip takes in more than one country, tell us the whole itinerary early: the arrival formalities described below apply afresh each time an aircraft enters Australian territory.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Australia:
One stop, and a bed
The furthest-reaching cabins in production. None of them makes the east coast in one leg, but they do it in two with the longest possible first sector and a proper flat bed for the twenty hours involved.
One stop, slightly tighter
Comfortable long-range cabins that manage the trip with one well-chosen stop. The lower hourly rate compounds over twenty hours, which on this route is a substantial difference.
Business liners
For groups above fifteen and for anyone who values a separate bedroom over the hourly rate. On the longest sector we sell, the argument for a cabin you can walk about in largely makes itself.
Inside Australia
The local fleet, and what we move clients onto once they have arrived. Short eastern sectors on midsize cabins, and larger aircraft for the transcontinental run to Perth.
Turboprops and light jets
For the outback, the wine regions and the coastal strips where the runway is short and the alternative is a long drive. Booked locally as part of an itinerary rather than flown from Britain.

This is only a small part of the fleet available. On a route this long the aircraft is sourced wherever it is positioned, and that is often not Britain.

Business aviation airports in Australia
An international arrival cannot land wherever it likes in Australia. The country designates a set of first points of entry where inbound aircraft may clear, and everything else requires a specific permission applied for in advance. In practice that narrows the choice to a handful of fields:
| Airport | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Sydney Kingsford Smith SYD / YSSY |
The busiest arrival point and the one most clients ask for. Dedicated business aviation handling, full clearance facilities, and about twenty minutes to the centre outside peak traffic |
| Melbourne Tullamarine MEL / YMML |
The second gateway and the only entry point for animals, since the national quarantine facility sits nearby. Full international clearance |
| Brisbane BNE / YBBN |
The Queensland gateway, and the practical choice for the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and the reef |
| Perth PER / YPPH |
The shortest flight from Britain by a clear margin, and the usual arrival for anyone whose business is in the west or the mining regions |
| Adelaide ADL / YPAD |
South Australia, the wine country and a quieter alternative to the eastern capitals |
| Darwin DRW / YPDN |
The closest Australian point to Asia and a common technical stop for aircraft continuing south |
Biosecurity: the part of an Australian arrival nobody warns you about
Australia treats an arriving aircraft as a biosecurity risk in its own right, and the rules apply to a private jet exactly as they do to an airliner. Every aircraft entering Australian territory must be treated with insecticide under an approved schedule, a procedure known as disinsection, with a certificate carried on board and kept on file for a year afterwards. Four methods are approved; the one most operators use treats the cabin and holds before departure, and there is a residual treatment lasting around eight weeks for aircraft that make the trip often. If the treatment has not been done, or cannot be evidenced on arrival, an officer supervises it on the apron at your expense and your passengers wait. On top of that the operator files pre-arrival information, additional detail is required for non-scheduled flights, and cabin waste is handled under separate rules. None of this is difficult and all of it is checked, which is why we place the arrangements with a handler who does this route regularly rather than one who does not.

Three things to settle before the aircraft is booked
– The arrival point. Landing anywhere other than a designated first point of entry needs a permission applied for ahead of time, so the resort airfield you had in mind may have to become the second leg rather than the first;
– The stop. Where the aircraft refuels affects the schedule, the crew arrangement and occasionally the visa position of the passengers, and it is easier settled at the quote stage than a fortnight out;
– What happens to the aircraft afterwards. Holding a long-range cabin in Australia is expensive, and the alternative arrangements are worth pricing before the deposit rather than after.
British passport holders need authorisation to travel to Australia before departure rather than on arrival, and it is applied for online. It is straightforward, but it is not something to leave to the airport, and on a private flight nobody at the terminal will remind you. Our managers confirm the current requirement for every passenger on the manifest before departure.
Flying to Australia with a dog or a cat
Here the answer is not the one most owners are hoping for, and it is better given at the first call than discovered in month five. An animal cannot travel with you in the cabin to Australia. It cannot travel on your aircraft at all. And it will not be handed to you at the airport when you land.
What Australia requires, in the order it has to happen
The animal must carry an ISO microchip, fitted before anything else. Its identity is then verified by an official government veterinarian, and that check has to take place before the blood sample is drawn, not after. A rabies vaccination follows, then a rabies antibody test at an approved laboratory. From the date of that successful test the animal waits at least 180 days before it may be exported, and the test remains valid for two years. An import permit is applied for separately, takes some weeks to assess, and no flight or quarantine place can be booked until it is issued. A veterinary health certificate is completed close to departure, and a quarantine reservation must match the permit.
The three rules that surprise people most
on a scheduled service, in an approved crate, on a different aircraft from you. There is no private aviation exception to thisnot in the cabin
the national quarantine facility serves the whole country, and transferring an animal in from another Australian city is not permittedevery animal, every time
the shorter stay applies only where the identity check was completed correctly before the blood draw. Get that sequence wrong and it triples10 days at best, 30 as standard
What this means for your dates
– Allow seven months from first appointment to departure, and treat that as the floor rather than the estimate. The 180-day wait alone accounts for six of them and cannot be shortened by any amount of money;
– This is a relocation timetable, not a holiday one. For a two-week trip the animal stays at home, and we say so rather than quoting a plan that will fail;
– The sequencing errors are what catch people: a lapsed vaccination, a blood draw before the identity check, a permit applied for too late. Each of them costs months, and a specialist pet transport agent is worth their fee here in a way they are not for a flight to Spain.
We coordinate the flight around the animal’s timetable rather than the other way round, and our managers will put you in touch with agents who handle this route regularly. Requirements for other species are more restrictive still. Rules for the destinations where an animal does travel beside you in the cabin are set out on our flying with pets guide.
Types of flights
A twenty-hour journey and a six-figure price filter the enquiries hard. What reaches us divides into a few recognisable shapes:
- Family travel around a fixed event, most often a wedding, a milestone birthday or a funeral, where the date cannot move and the group is travelling together;
- Relocations and long postings, which is the category where the animal timetable rather than the flight sets the calendar;
- Corporate and resources travel, particularly to Perth and the west, where the mining and energy sectors generate genuine year-round demand;
- Sports and entertainment movements, which arrive with heavy freight and tight turnarounds and usually need an airliner cabin;
- Medical repatriation in both directions, where the stop, the crew and the cabin layout are chosen around the patient rather than the passengers;
- Multi-country Pacific itineraries taking in New Zealand, Fiji or Bali, where Australia is one leg of several.
What almost none of them are is spontaneous. A European charter can be arranged between breakfast and lunch, and we do it regularly. This route needs the aircraft held, the crew arrangement settled, the technical stop coordinated and the arrival formalities filed, and none of that compresses into a day. Give us the dates as soon as they are real, even in outline, and the detail can follow.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a positioning flight sold cheaply because the aircraft is going anyway with nobody aboard. On the most expensive sector in our network the cash saving is correspondingly large, and so is the catch.
Why they exist on this route and why they are rare
– Every ultra-long-range aircraft that reaches Australia has to leave again, and holding one on an apron in Sydney is expensive enough that operators would rather fly it home. Those westbound legs are the useful ones;
– The southern summer concentrates them. Between November and February the flow from Europe is heaviest, and that is when a match is most likely to appear;
– Frequency is the limitation. This is not the Balearics, where legs appear weekly. On the Australian sector they turn up occasionally, so the realistic approach is to register interest and wait rather than to plan around one.
Discounts on this corridor run from roughly half to three quarters of a fresh charter, which in absolute terms is the largest saving available anywhere we operate. What you give up is the date, often the hour and sometimes the arrival city, and the leg can vanish if the original booking moves. Tell us the month you could travel in rather than the week, and we will flag what appears; current availability sits on our empty legs page.

Jet Sharing
Sharing puts several parties on one aircraft travelling the same way on the same day and divides the cost of the cabin between them. On the Australian sector it is worth being precise about what that does and does not achieve.
Split a hundred and seventy thousand euros fifteen ways and the seat is still eleven thousand, which is several times a first class ticket on the same route. So this does not make private travel to Australia cheap, and anyone suggesting otherwise is selling something. What it does do is make a large cabin reachable for a group that would otherwise be priced into a smaller one, and on a twenty-hour journey with a technical stop, cabin size is the thing that actually determines how you arrive.
Where it genuinely works here
– Weddings and family gatherings, where several households are already travelling to the same place on the same weekend and simply have not thought to combine;
– Corporate groups on fixed dates, particularly to Perth, where the travelling party is often larger than one company’s own booking;
– The southern summer holidays, when the direction of travel is predictable and departures cluster within the same fortnight.
Every shared seat keeps what matters on a sector this long: a flat bed, a private terminal at both ends, luggage judged by the hold rather than an allowance. Give us the fortnight and the number travelling and we will match it against departures we already know about.

Helicopter charter
Australia uses helicopters differently from anywhere else we operate. In Europe they save an hour on a motorway; here they reach places that have no road worth driving. Between the harbour transfers in Sydney and the station country of the interior, the two jobs have almost nothing in common.
against forty minutes or considerably more when the bridge is busy10 to 15 minutes
the wine country and the coast, an hour and a half by road on a summer weekendabout 25 minutes
resorts and estates that the highway reaches slowlyabout 25 minutes
where the alternative is a launch and the sea state decides the scheduleisland transfers
properties measured in thousands of square kilometres, with an airstrip and nothing elsethe only practical access
subject to a certified deck or a landing site approved beforehanddirect
Worth knowing before you plan around one
– Distances defeat the machine quickly. A helicopter is right for the first hour out of a city and wrong for anything approaching a state crossing, where a turboprop into a country strip is faster and cheaper;
– Heat and distance matter in the interior. Summer afternoons in the centre are punishing on performance, and remote flying is planned around fuel availability rather than around the clock;
– Landing at a private property or a lodge needs the site agreed in advance. Most established stations and resorts have a strip or a pad already, which makes this easier here than in most countries.
Machines in regular service run from the single-engine Airbus H125, which does most of the station and coastal work and is genuinely at home in the heat and altitude of the interior, through the wider-cabin H130 for scenic and resort transfers, to twin-engine H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 aircraft for over-water legs to the reef islands and for yacht work. We book the rotary leg with the rest of the itinerary so the crews work to one schedule.

Australian charters from the desk notes: six recent trips
What the longest route we sell looks like in practice. Six jobs drawn from the booking notes of recent seasons, surnames reduced to initials and some particulars changed.
NONSTOP · THE CONVERSATION WE ALWAYS HAVE
Mr R. B. had been told it could be done in one leg
London - Sydney, Gulfstream G650ER, about 21 h 40 min · 6 pax
Another broker had quoted him a nonstop. The distance is over nine thousand nautical miles and the aircraft is rated at seven and a half thousand, so the flight as sold did not exist. We showed him the numbers, routed through Singapore with a fresh crew waiting there, and he landed in Sydney rested. On this route a quote with no stop in it is worth reading twice.
PERTH · THE SHORTEST WAY IN
A resources company with business in the west
London - Perth, Bombardier Global 6000, about 18 h 20 min · 8 pax
Perth is more than thirteen hundred nautical miles closer to Britain than Sydney, and on this sector that is worth several hours and a meaningful sum. They had assumed an eastern arrival and a domestic connection. Going straight into Perth saved a day at the front of the trip and around forty thousand euros against the routing they expected.
DOGS · THE ANSWER NOBODY WANTS
The H. family, relocating with two dogs
London - Melbourne, Gulfstream G650ER · 4 pax, animals separately
They asked in January about an April move with the dogs in the cabin. Neither half was possible: animals travel to Australia as cargo on a scheduled service, and the rabies test carries a 180-day wait before export. We set out the seven-month timetable at the first call rather than the fifth, they moved the date to October, and the dogs cleared quarantine ten days after arriving.
BIOSECURITY · THE SPRAY ON THE APRON
A group whose previous flight had been caught out
Singapore - Brisbane, Bombardier Global 7500 · 9 pax
On an earlier trip with another operator the aircraft arrived without evidence of disinsection, and the treatment was carried out on the apron with the passengers waiting. We handled the certification at the departure point and the paperwork was in the cockpit before push-back. It is a small item that becomes a large one at the wrong moment.
WEDDING · AIRLINER CABIN
Twenty-six guests to the Hunter Valley
London - Sydney, Airbus ACJ319, about 22 h · 26 pax
A February wedding with the party flying as one. Over twenty-two hours including the stop, a cabin with beds and space to move is the entire argument, and the group arrived able to attend the rehearsal dinner. Helicopters ran from Sydney to the vineyard, which took twenty-five minutes against two and a half hours by road.
EMPTY LEG · WESTBOUND IN FEBRUARY
Ms L. K. caught one going the right way
Melbourne - London, G650ER empty leg, about 21 h 30 min · 5 pax
An aircraft that had delivered a family for the southern summer and was due back in Europe. She paid a little over a third of the standard westbound figure, which on this sector is the largest single saving we have passed to a client. These appear a handful of times a season rather than weekly, so the flexible get them and the fixed do not.

No. Sydney is about 9,175 nautical miles from London and the longest-range business jets in production are rated at 7,500 to 7,700 nautical miles, so the sector is roughly 1,500 miles beyond the best of them. Every private flight to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth includes at least one technical stop, usually Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong or the Gulf. Darwin at just under 7,500 miles is the single exception that fits inside the longest-range cabin on paper, and in practice it is flown with a stop too.
2How long does a private jet take from the UK to Australia?
About 21 hours 40 minutes to Sydney including one stop, and roughly 18 hours 20 minutes to Perth, which is the closest Australian city to Britain. Melbourne and Canberra are close to the Sydney figure, Brisbane a little less, and Hobart a little more. Smaller cabins need two stops and run to around 23 hours 30 minutes.
3How much does a private jet to Australia cost?
From about 132,000 EUR one way to Perth and 172,000 EUR to Sydney on a Gulfstream G650ER. A Global 7500 to Sydney starts near 186,000 EUR and an airliner cabin for a group of nineteen or more from around 245,000 EUR. Every figure includes the technical stop and the augmented crew a sector of this length legally requires.
4Can my dog travel with me on a private jet to Australia?
No. Australia requires cats and dogs to arrive as manifested cargo on a scheduled service, not in the cabin and not on your aircraft, and every animal enters through Melbourne regardless of where you are going. Quarantine on arrival runs from 10 days to 30 days depending on whether the identity check was completed before the rabies blood test. Allow around seven months in total, most of it a mandatory 180-day wait that cannot be shortened.
5What is aircraft disinsection and does it apply to private jets?
It is the insecticide treatment every aircraft entering Australian territory must undergo under an approved schedule, and it applies to a private jet exactly as to an airliner. A certificate is carried on board and kept for twelve months. If the treatment cannot be evidenced on arrival, an officer supervises it on the apron at the operator’s expense while passengers wait, so it is handled before departure.
