Learjet in business aviation

In the late 1950s, an American inventor and businessman William Powell Lear founded the aircraft company “Lear Jet Corporation”, which specialized in the production of light business jets based on the concept of the combat fighters. The prototype of the first model was a Swiss ground attack jet fighter FFA P-16. The world’s first high-speed business jet Learjet 23, introduced in 1964, was best known for its incredible speed (903 km/h). It could fly from New York to Chicago in just over an hour. This fast jet opened a new chapter in the history of business and personal jet aviation.

Today, the company “Learjet” forms part of the airspace segment of “Bombardier Aerospace” (Canada), but its factories are still located in the USA. Bombardier delivered its 3.000th Learjet in June 2017.

Stages of flight preparation

A business jet flight is carefully prepared. The whole organization of the flight consists of several stages:

1. Planning. At this stage, the request received from the customer is processed, the most suitable aircraft are selected, legal issues and flight safety issues are resolved;
2. A contract is concluded. The contract specifies the obligations of the parties, the route schedule, departure dates, and cost. The agreement is drawn up in two copies, the first remains with the air broker, the other is for the client. The payment is possible in any way that suits the customer;
3. Ensuring the flight. This is one of the most important stages of flight organization. The air broker coordinates the receipt of slots, submits requests to the aviation services for departure and landing, looks for suitable VIP terminals;
4. Flying in ideal conditions. After signing the contract, passengers of charter flights are only required to arrive at the airport on time, board, and spend time in the sky in a pleasant atmosphere.

If necessary, air brokers will arrange a transfer from the arrival airport, book a hotel or find the best accommodation in the private sector.

Bombardier Learjet family

The lineup of Learjet airliners includes light and mid-size jets intended for regional flights. However, many of them have the same flight performance as the large long-haul jets.

 

 

Learjet 70/75

The light mid-size 70/75 business jets, introduced in 2013, feature the new aviation design elements. These models have better aerodynamics and an elegant winglet leading on the empennage. The jets are powered by the powerful Honeywell TFE731-40BR turbofan engines and equipped with a Garmin G5000 touchscreen avionics suite. Learjet 70/75 can fly from London to Moscow, without stopping to refuel.

The flight deck has seats for two pilots. The cabin can accommodate 4-9 passengers.

Learjet 85 series

This model, launched in April 2014, filled the niche between the short- and medium-haul business jets.

Innovative honeycomb-based composite structures were used for the construction of the next-generation fuselage and wings. The jet is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B turbofan engines, which provide a low fuel consumption and noise level and minimize carbon emissions.

The jet is equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics suite. Learjet 85 requires two pilots. The jet has a double club setup with a passage in the middle. Exclusive interior design projects are available.

How to pay for a flight and refund money for a failed flight

Payment for the aircraft lease is carried out after the signing of the contract. You can deposit cash or make a wire transfer. In some situations, an invoice is more convenient, but in any case, our company allows the client to choose the payment method that is more profitable for him/her.

If the scheduled flight is canceled at the client’s request, the funds won’t be returned in full. This is quite understandable since certain costs for the organization of the flight were already on the part of the air broker. However, our company tries to make sure that the client loses as little as possible. In those situations, when the lease is canceled due to our fault, which fortunately happens extremely rarely, the funds are returned in full.
